16:01 There are a lot of defensive options. Not sure if these are exact terms for all the mechanics but it’s what I’ve called them or how I recognize it. 1. Block 2. “Perfect” block 3. Dodge/vanish 4. Super counter 5. Revenge counter 6. Perception counter 7. Sonic sway 8. Side stepping 9. Regular sway (pressing x or a in front of an opponent/ near them) 10. Fast ascending and descending (I’ve just been seeing this as ways for people to get out of sight or mix up to throw an opponent off or just running away, so a form of defense) 11. Vanish attack (yes this is for the offensive, but I’ve also found uses on defense. Basically in those small windows between combos or your back being turned, you can use this to get out of the way/ move to the side to help reset or if it hits then send em flying to get some Ki) I do think it’s cool to have these as options, since it fits the theme with dragonball fights, not knowing what your opponent will do on the defense or offensive, so you stay on your toes with your actions. However, there are some that are abused and need to be tweaked with how much Ki is consumed while doing it or adding small cooldowns for others to help reduce spamming or maybe timing of the action after putting in the input with the more you use it.
17:50 might be built in input delay option for burst dash. Gotta wait a decent amount of time before pressing square. Otherwise you'll just get the dash attack

Lotus you need to use the charged ki blast with trunks more often and ki blasts in general your mechanics are pretty much fine maybe practice the super counter more and you’d be sweet my guy. Bless up love your content

In fact the only reason the Tenkaiichi games have Budokai In their name was to piggyback of the success of the original Budokai series (plus infinite world) here in the states. you can instantly ult if you vanish in without pressing a direction. If you do a direction while doing a vanishing smash, you won't be able to do any moves quickly
I hope they "balance" patch this game to make it more fun and also some "quality of life" for the queuing, stage and music selection. I can only see it go up, the potential is all there.
I don't understand the whole "spam perception while blocking" complaint because that has never worked for me. If I try just spamming it without proper timing, my character just drops their guard and gets smacked.

Ive noticed alota people don't do grab into a dash behind opponent its strong sometimes it can be better than just winning a vanish war and if they have lower ki or like no ki.its strong to land consistently you have to charge ki for a second then dash behind i play base s Broly who has slower attacks so hes harder to super counter another thing i like to do is grab transform since Broly gets full ki then reverse dash depends on your timing you can catch there recovery then get back shots if there good at super counters i shorten it to reverse dash special in base only though cause base Brolys rush attack doesn't need to jump back to activate
for ki blast you should be able to deflect them while you are dashing towards your opponent. and when you are standing still and deflecting ki blast you shouldn’t be opened to attacks. and when the lock on is knocked off you should be able to press a button and sense there ki to lock on to them immediately if they are charging there ki. I can understand if it takes a little longer to lock on to the androids
It's not a skill issue it really does do forward dash even when you're holding the stick to the side. It's so annoying when my character dives head first into an attack I should've easily dodged because he dash forward instead of to the side. I've started holding back and left or right to do the side dashes because if you are even slightly forward it will prioritize the forward dash over the sideways dash.
I feel for the ultimates not coming out. Oddly enough though, during sparking i found if you slightly move before you want to fire the ultimate, it does come out more consistently. At least for me it does, but I'd give this a try, even though I think we shouldn't even need to do that
I dont have any problems with you talking about negatives of the game but I think there's a diffrence of bringing up negatives with positives while haveing a good time from only talking about negatives without positives while being tilted playing almost 24/7. I mean I'm 12:47 into the video and it's been "shouldn't be able to guard breach in perception", " Trunk is broken but Gogeta is better", " There are worse unblockable moves that do more damage", "Wild Sense is annoying", "After Omage Strike is annoying", " People are annoying"... you can talk about what you want man but im not blind or deaf. it's still a good video and I hope you are haveing fun, just a lot of negativity all the time while u are playing. Of course people shouldn't be angry at you regardless.

Ngl usually they don’t let me clash rush Ults with a dash. While I’ve seen that exact interaction before with regular rush downs, Everytime I have tried the Ult rush downs the just cancel out my dash so I’m actually super shocked 7:22

I've been enjoying the matches with your homies Lotus. I do have a question that's gonna make me sound like a hater, but I think it is a good question given what was said early in the vid. Do you think it is a bad sign, that you have already said something along the lines of, "Well this game is a good base, so the sequel should be good"? Is it that you don't have enough faith that this game could be patched into something better, or is it something beyond that? By all means, enjoy the game to the extent you do. I just found it very intriguing that that phrasing (more or less) was used to describe this game. Is it really that bad without the homies?
I think the game has a great foundation and needs tweaks for it to be something that I can personally fully enjoy to the extent that I was hoping for. That said, I don't think most of the changes I would like to see are going to happen and that's okay. Game doesn't have to appeal to or cater to me specifically. I do genuinely think though that a lot of the changes I'd like to see would make most people enjoy the game more. For me, the game is best enjoyed with friends right now.

I just think alot of people are treating this game like a traditionnal fighting game that is made for balance and a competitive scene when the BT games have never been that and its the same with this game. Once you get the timing down, which only takes give or take an hour or so in training, it’s relatively easy. Should COST something as in ki bar or skill count.

4:24 Lotus my guy. If you think the training mode in this game sucks, then you will never get super counters down and you will keep falsely blaming them. Use the training to get super counters down, set the opponent to Super and choose barrage attack setting. Or go to battle training and do the Z counter training to time super counters…. There are so many ways you can use training to get the timing down and improve. The CPU is excellent training, maybe not against certain spam, but you can set the CPU to spam and find ways out of it… Lotus you got this but please put some time in before you start blaming super counters for everything, bc that’s egregious.

Doesn’t need to be removed. It just needs to cost something. I think it should either cost a skill point or a bar of ki. Making it cost a skill point like super perception would be great imo but making it cost a bar of ki also forces players to learn ki management.

we get it bro training mode bad, defensive mechanics too overpowered, and you don't practice, its not like u cant critize the game but u have said these same critics in every sparking video u have made so far
Because saying something once and then being silent on it forever after is how you get devs to see potential issues in the game.

Im done with this game until super counter is removed or changed. Ruins this whole fucking game.
Doesn’t need to be removed. It just needs to cost something. I think it should either cost a skill point or a bar of ki. Making it cost a skill point like super perception would be great imo but making it cost a bar of ki also forces players to learn ki management.
