Seriously "portrait of a lady on fire" is an actual ART visualization. You can find any art aspect in it. Masterpiece music, painting, literature, etc. The meaning of every dialogue and the feeling underneath every scene is mindblowing.
I love Kyss Mig so much despite its obvious flaws, i.e. jumping into a relationship after one go and the unfaithful fiancee. Still, the chemistry! Portrait is one of my very favorite as well.

Despite all the good reviews, I did not like Blue is the warmest color. I get it, it's French and artistic and stuff, but to a philistine like me, it felt like 3 hours of random scenes. Everything in the film seemed too long - even the sex scenes were too long. They could have cut half the movie, and I doubt anyone would have noticed... And I could have used that time to maybe re-watch some non-American movie that *I* actually enjoyed ... like Fucking Amal (SWE) or Imagine me and you (GBR). Speaking of, I feel like I should mention Below her mouth (CAN) - it may not be a very good movie, but if male penises and excessive lesbian sex scenes are your thing, it has you covered and it wont take up as much of your time as Life of Adele.
I really have difficulty with Blue is the Warmest Color. I'll be honest, I have not even watched it, after hearing just how uncomfortable the actresses were throughout the filming. And, how they stated that they felt as if they were being exploited during the film. There is also a lot of controversy with the producer/director. Both actresses stated that he made them do over 100 takes of the extremely intimate scenes. So, that movie is a big NO for me. There are tons of lgbtq films that I love. But for the lesbian films, I think it makes a huge difference when there is a female that is playing the role of director and producer. That's just my opinion though!
I do like movies like "badhai do", "ek ladki ko dekha to esa laga" and "maja ma" but no one beats the "FIRE" (it was a revolutionary film in Indian cinema)

Everyone seems to mention "the handmaiden" but b4 that and even better than that was Fingersmith. I watched that thing multiple times and it took me that long to catch all the nuiances one could miss, there were SO many layers to it, it was crazy, so many things you didn't see or catch the first time. The Handmaiden is no where near as well crafted. Not to say it wasn't good, but it just doesn't hold a candle to the original.
Something about this compilation reminds me of the Olympia Pride Film Festival In Washington State. I don't know why. Maybe that was the first time I was immersed in films by and for lesbians and it was exquisite. I really appreciate that "Reaching for the Moon" is on your list.
