What I love about this game is how the difficulty levels are designed, with there being more objectives, less ammo, and stronger enemies as you move up to 00 Agent. Even though you are going through the same levels, you need to approach them very differently.
@@co81385 Yeah I think that's another thing this game revolutionized was how it approaches different difficulty levels. I never beat the game on 00 Agent myself for instance but one thing that is truly cool about Goldeneye is the concept of it's "rewards" system, whether we're talking about unlocking cheats based on how fast you beat certain levels on certain difficulties (which is largely credited with being a huge part of the birth of "speedrunning" in video games and still has an active speedrunning community of its own to this day) but if you beat the game on 00 Agent (and maybe the other difficulties as well, I forget, but definitely at least 00 Agent) then you unlock the secret 007 Agent mode which allows you to make your own custom difficulty setting, ranging from infinitely more easy to basically impossible and everything in between. I don't even want a Goldeneye HD remake...I just want Goldeneye to run at 60 fps...hell, even 30 fps would be fantastic. This game dips sub 15 fps far too often and takes away from the awesomeness of the gameplay. Even after all these years I still love to go back and play this unexpected gem. I remember when this came out I bought it on a whim before I had heard anything about it. I liked Doom and Quake on PC, but FPS's on console were still struggling to figure out how to work with a controller. I gave this game a chance anyway and I'm glad I did. Turns out it was the best FPS on a console up to that point, and is still one of my all time favorite console single player FPS's to this day.
It's your lucky day! - th-cam.com/video/UR0Oi3Ubqj8/w-d-xo.html You can skip to the description and download the emulator right away, but it's basically just that. GoldenEye and Perfect Dark at 60FPS with the option to play with mouse and keyboard natively.
As long as your head is above the clipping of the floor, you'll get on top of it. There's a bit of time there you can use to get back to the platform quickly.
Mostly everyone talks about being stressed out on this level back in the day... I used to take this shit personally as a kid and chase Trevelyan down. You ain’t running away from me after being my best friend, faking your death, betraying me and my country, and trying to kill me and my girlfriend.
A modern take on Goldeneye 007 controls- You CAN play the original game the way modern FPS controls work. Here is how: First choose in game controls menu "1.2 solitaire" and use an original N64 controller (sorry Brawler64 I still love you). Now put your left hand on the D-pad for walking and strafing, and your Right hand to use the stick for looking and aiming only. Change the inverted or non-inverted as desired "Reverse" or "Upright" in game. The right index finger is now to shoot. Your left index finger is now to aim with the L button. This functions similar to and mimics the hand assignments of most modern FPS and newer controllers. This fixes the original tank-like control option that a lot of kids used back in the day. BTW, you can also use these similar controls for Duke Nukem64, Turok, Doom64, Quake 2 already has this control setting by default!
I wouldn't recommend using the D-Pad to move, it's less accurate. Better ues left hand on the stick and right on C-Buttons for movement. It's easy to get used to the left stick for aiming, and it's way better to reach the A and B buttons while your hand is on the C-Buttons.
Here is my great tip from me to you all if you play this game on 00 Agent. Use the input cheat codes. No this will NOT Disabled your rewards like in modern games like 360s, PS4s etc. I did that back in High School in 2013 it works well. I useally use both invincibility and invisible. @@Graslu00 Yeah, I know that part. I just noticed on this video that when James picks up the Armor, it says "Picked up some Body Armour"; and I should have said the European release. 22 years ago, I was given this game for Christmas; but since it was bought in the USA, upon picking the armor on this stage, it said "Picked up some Body Armor" instead. This is because the Americans write "Armor" and the British write "Armour", and both variants of the word are valid, since they are pronounced the same way.
Yeah, if you check my emulator playthrough which uses the NTSC version you'll see it says Armor, but this is my real physical copy so it's PAL. The audio also changes a bit, it's higher pitched here in PAL than it is on NTSC but it shouldn't be too noticeable on old CRTs.
Oh by the way I did think of asking you to join my little scheme. But somehow I knew, your loyalty was always to the company and its customers, never to a friend.
To be honest, I love Perfect Dark more, but this game is still overall better. And no! Not because of Nostalgia, but because of the level design, gameplay, quality and variety of weapons, and the bosses. While there are only about 2 boss fights, they still manage to be amazing. Perfect Dark is certainty underrated imo, but it is for sure is overshadowed. It needs more recognition.
Lol to everyone wondering how he got back on its fully possible even if fully off a ledge you need to walk towards the direction you fell and you will still hop back up. Like bruh i was always able to get back up the facility vent when dropping down with a cool crouching method.
0:00 It's a little suspect that the player doesn't simply scan the N64 controller upwards to the start button. Instead, he stays on "next". That would be a very easy way to avoid your emulator being shown not to be an actual N64 controller ... 1:08 Oh ... that second minigun doesn't seem to react at all either. Like, ever. O ... K? The rest of it looks pretty standard, so I'm not sure with this one. My gut instinct is that if you can't be sure, deny that it's real.
Your comments are ridiculous and you don't even reply back, just spit nonsense. I don't press start because I'm showing the briefing, do you not realise that or are you too short minded for that? If you knew how the game worked you'd also realise that the second turret does not react to me because there's an object blocking its line of sight. A modern take on Goldeneye 007 controls-
You CAN play the original game the way modern FPS controls work.
Here is how:
First choose in game controls menu "1.2 solitaire" and use an original N64 controller (sorry Brawler64 I still love you).

How do you go back a gun?
Hold A and Z at the same time.
RESPECT+
you slapped trevelyn and he fell off platform hahaah good one
The way he looks as u karate chop lol
3:05 How did you not fall?
Just climbed back
This strategy makes this level not suck complete ass. Thanks. Also didn't know about that second body armor either. Wtf I like this mission now.
There's a total of 4 body armours but it's not worth to go for the others - each tower has one.
@@Graslu00 I see
Yeah, You get to watch Bond and Natalya's Victory Hug and Kiss scene after defeating Trevelyan.
Did not expect you to kill him using slappers
Oh by the way I did think of asking you to join my little scheme. But somehow I knew, your loyalty was always to the company and its customers, never to a friend.
To be honest, I love Perfect Dark more, but this game is still overall better. And no! Not because of Nostalgia, but because of the level design, gameplay, quality and variety of weapons, and the bosses. While there are only about 2 boss fights, they still manage to be amazing. Perfect Dark is certainty underrated imo, but it is for sure is overshadowed. It needs more recognition.
What happens if you operate the console instead of blowing it up?
I believe nothing happens.
For England, James?
y know i honestly thought i was the only one who slapped trev at the end there for some reason
Try playing in *16:9 + CinemaScope* (^_^)
The first few enemies in the beginning are the most annoying part of the mission
Yes indeed, specially since you can't shoot back when they hit you.
Like facts!!!!! My HP would be absolutely gone by the time I would get towards the part where I have to shoot them all .

Graslu00
*Picked up some Body Armour* what was this game made by, Europeans?
Actually, yes it was. The PAL version has some localization changes along new additions to scenes.
Graslu00 oh I see
Rareware is from the UK, also.
UK and US English are different
For England James?
No. For me.
Bad ass game ever hard ass level too.i remember
Espero k sigas subiendo mas gemplays
I fuckin hated this mission lmao with that being said I miss this game 😂😂😂
R.I.P Arecibo.
Lol, it's better when you play the big head small body version 😂
3:05 You stood in the air
I hated those Janus guards. If it took me nearly 40 tries to beat this on Secret, quadruple my losses if i try this on 00.
Their randomness is incredibly annoying.
Can you kill Travelyan by slapping him? Yes you can, but you'll be there for a while slapping him
3:05 woah man.
damn, was this really the fps we played at back then lol
Today :)
I always thought three minutes was way too much time. If it gave you like 30 seconds to shut down the console, that would be much more unnerving.
AI in GoldenEye cannot see over railings other map geometry that blocks a direct line from their POV. Waste of time replying to you.
@@Graslu00 yeah what is this guy trying to say?? Like whats his point
Have to agree them mini guns were quick when I was a kid
