@@BaboDex YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!! When I was a child, I imagined the ending logo of Viacom was a personal prediction of what my Dad's fatherly personality was!😁

Like in so many fairy tales.. I only ever watched SNOW WHITE out of Disneys retellings.. mom thought Walt was a nazi.. but SNOW WHITE came on TV once and I watched it.. the queen was quite scary yet pretty at the same time.. i was quite dismayed when she became the witch.
Would I be able to use one of your excellent recreations in a list of mine I'm making, on the most un-nerving V of Doom variants out there? You will of course be credited as appropriate and this video will of course be linked.
Sure! I wouldn’t mind at all! As you may know, the VoD logos in this video came from my personal 16mm prints, but all were edited in some way. All have adjusted brightness & contrast, and some were originally B&W variants; for those, I added color with the Color Correction tool in Sony Vegas Pro 13. The variant at 1:21 was not actually heavily spliced like that, I recreated that as well.
Thanks, is it possible for you to email me the first one (with the abrupt cut to Lucerne), because I've tried using some converters to get the video downloaded, however they always return as corrupt for some reason? And yeah, I liked that splicing. Added a good touch, all of these special adjusted variants look fantastic. You've done a great job of them, if I showed anyone this without context, I'm sure they'd think it was the real deal as opposed to a recreation
The V of Doom is considered scary for people, due to the dramatic music and the "V" zooming towards you. The 16mm version is even worse, due to bad quality and warped music (deterioration).
Not scared by the VoD in any way; but the way it's presented here with the excessive deterioration and warped audio makes it jarring and scary in a way, especially the one at 1:21 that is heavily spliced. Nice work, though!
The 4 part miniseries aired from November 19-22, 1978 on NBC. Part 1 - 27th out of 56 shows for the week of November 13-19, 1978, with a 20.2 rating and a 29 share. Part 2 - 17th out of 61 shows for the week of November 20-26, 1978, with a 21.8 rating and a 33 share. Part 3 - 20th for the week, with a 21.3 rating and a 33 share. Part 4 - 26th for the week, with a 19.8 rating and a 31 share.
Still makes me yawn bricks. Besides that, Paramount Home Entertainment needs to release Greatest Heroes Of The Bible on Blu-ray & DVD soon. Since Paramount Global now owns the rights.
All of these clips, excluding the VoD clips (which are my personal clips, just color corrected and with adjusted brightness & contrast,) came from the Internet Archive. They all sounded like that when I originally downloaded them.
Well, that’s technically correct, but you can make film look & sound great with the right equipment. Whoever at the Internet Archive uploaded these transferred files seemed to use an older telecine unit.
@@TheVintageTVArchive The telecine unit that was used to make these 16mm prints apparently was not in good condition, since the Viacom theme was put in the wrong spot. The Schick Sunn and Viacom logos were both deleted from these prints, but keeping the Viacom theme intact.
Follow up to my post from a year ago: I though they used an old telecine unit for those transfers, but they didn’t. They used a Lasergraphics ScanStation, a top of the line scanner, which costs about $100,000. My guess is something wasn’t calibrated right, or who knows, maybe the audio head they used needed repairs.
It's not scary. I think it's so delightful! My sweet bonbon uses the music in the Viacom ending to make me moan & groan loudly when he's making love to me!❤️💕💞

All of the variations have warped music probably because of the 16mm film quality

That's cool to make the splicing seems so real. Y'know, with the power of modern technology!

how did you make the splice lines?
I actually just used them from some of my other 16mm videos and just layered them over some of those logos.
