Simon Gallup is, in my opinion, the greatest bassist of all time. This line is amazing, the truth is only a small group of people know it's a bass line.
Increíble, cuando salió el álbum kissme fue destrozado por la crítica y conciderado una basura con la cual se habían vendido, sin embargo hoy es conciderado todo un clásico de finales de los 80'
What a great bassline, and so well played! Thanks for indicating the tuning; the fingering on the 4th and 3rd strings wasn't making any sense until I realized :-)
Thanks! I spent some time trying to figure out the exact rythmic pattern he played..and I believe I got really close. This bass line is not just great but challenging as well
nice playing. interesting, i was inspired tonight to make a list of my own top 5 Cure songs, and the first 4 came easy, struggled with the 5th place spot, and Torture made it in (All Cats Are Grey came close.)
This is the yamaha BBP34 made in japan. The red one is the limited yamaha BBPH ,made in Indonesia. I sold both of them actually but I regret it for selling my bbp34. Hopefully they released a new vintage white colour for it which I like a lot more. Great instruments!
@@haksirc5694 If you are into Fender type of passive basses ignore them and save for one of these. It is a solid instrument that inspires you to play. Neck is so stable and with great sustain
@@ioannist.5568 Actually I'm looking for a my first bass guitar for recordings of post-punk, The Cure/Joy Division inspiratoned bass tones and I hesitate how much I really need if I'm a total beginner as a bassist, who didn't had a bass in my life. How much the sound on recording depends on the bass quality and how much on the effects and simple processing in the program. And I hesitate 🤔 Because I would really like to fully expose a bass, often make it more of a leading instrument, but I don't know if for example Cort Action PJ/Squier Affinity P Bass MN PJ/Yamaha TRBX174 could be a good choice if I would use some Chorus/Flanger and other Boss effects and record it through multi effect audio interface function. To fully expose the Simon Gallup's meat without spending that much money

It just goes to show someone else loves the bass / musicianship on this fantastic old favourite of mine .Good for you.

@@BenjaminHogan-nk9wk thanks!
One of my favorites from the Kiss Me album and an amazing bass line to listen to when they play live. Awesome cover and you killed it! 😁👍
Thanks so much Jozo. It is one of my fav basslines actually!

@@ioannist.5568 Have you considered "Into the light" by Siouxsie and the Banshees? It's very easy, but fun to play; very rythmic too
@@luismendo I will keep that in mind. Right now I don't have any free time really.
So cool! Great tone

Great cover, nice triplets!
Thanks. Indeed a great bass line and it needs discipline to play the same rythmic pattern on and on.
Bravo 😉 et toujours le bon son😆
Only Cure
What pedals are you using? Sounds awesome
Nothing extraordinary. Just a compressor, a chorus, Tech 21 bass driver v2 and a bit of reverb
Please you could tell me the efects?
New strings... tech bass driver v2, chorus and just a bit of stereo reverb
Fantasy
Merci beaucoup Jean!
Hi, great bass sound, which model are u using??
Also what is the model of your red bass?

Thank you!
Do you hold pick with 3 or 2 fingers?
Sometimes three, sometimes two.. it depends on the mood😅
i don't think The Cure have many d-tuned bass lines
Hello, brother! Long time no covers, is everything alright mate?
Everything is fine.
Thanks for asking!
I am just very busy with work and studies
@@ioannist.5568 glad to hear it man! Don't miss a chance to treat us with your fantastic covers from time to time, though! Best wishes.
