I love this band. As a girl, I am not offended at all. They are clever and put great music together. The 90’s had some amazing music and if they went into the 2000’s with their original sound, kudos.
same, woman who loves bhg. have a bhg tattoo, even. they've been my fave group since i was 17. nothing they've written about women really offends me, i find it all to be clever wordplay. however, i gotta admit, i always skip past yellow fever lol. i can't do that one. could probably do it if it weren't for that chinese ching-chong ass sample they used lol it's so annoying
@@Fakeaorta not much was really turning heads back then, shit the only controversial things i remember in the 90's were Eminem and Manson.. other than that nah we were loose as.
I actually appreciate this band a lot more now knowing how self aware they were. They knew exactly how mediocre they were and they embraced that and that’s what makes them so cool.
mediocre - well technically they were not good musicians, apart maybe from Spanky G. But Jimmy Pop definitely knew how to write a tune and had a good sense for melodies. Plus the lyrics are super funny
Even 10 years ago the standards were so different. You get dragged before a lynch mob by pixie-haircut demons with butterfly frame glasses and a loud voice for breathing the wrong way these days

I'm a black girl who plays bass and I'm almost 18 and I love this band and I genuinely appreciate their instrumentals and how unique all of them are, even nope with the for whom the Bell tolls sample that's hilarious
I remember the first time I heard BHG.. I was about 13 at a Christian summer camp in the late 90s, trading cds, and this kid kept putting the head phones on random girls and going “Hey you’ll love this song,” and every time the girl would freak out or cry. I had to know what this music was so I traded him 2 Bush cds and got One Fierce Beer Coaster. It was Kiss Me Where It Smells Funny🎉
fuck i know right, he was right tho we were so chill in the 90's and looking back at the early 00's.. compared to now*, even those early years were like the 90's cool dad, cuz we suck now haha
i never understood the nasty eating scenes in their music vids like in uhn tiss where the guy is stuffing his face with doughnuts and the fat guy eating in chasey lane... i know the one in foxtrot uniform charlie kilo is a gay reference or something but does anybody know why they always have like a binge eating scene in their vids?
6:31 "Schindler's Fist" You can't make this type of joke nowadays, probably could not even then and it's disgusting but it cracked me up nonetheless! These guys didn't hold back.
7:20 yeah whoever says music MUST be serious lost touch a long time ago, like look at meme music, its a thing, like those Mashups, youtube James Hetfield and the News and then tell us comedy can't be in music lol. and this is coming from a dude who thrives on melancholic music.. but yeah jesus cheer up emo kid xD
Also I think Jimmy is the only member actually pretending to be wierd, the others are clearly not acting. That must be hard, im not sure i like the band now I know what most of them are like. . theyre fkn idiots. When Jimmy is wierd you see its jest, when the others talk wierd and creepy just leaks out of em naturally. The others live what they sing and talk about, thats not funny that makes me feel undefined loss.
lmfao "people don't really get offended by much anymore". god, take me back to the good ol days...
yeah the lefty douches reallly have taken over the media

So they can just be cancelled ? Lol
Love how the singer said people don’t get offended by much anymore...boy that doesn’t apply to now since that interview
nah.... People have been get offended by stupid shit for several centuries. There have been 'Karens' since recorded history.
How shit has changed for the worse over the last twenty years. I miss the 90's.
😂😂🤣 I thought this. Came straight to the comments as soon as he said that... knowing someone would point it out.

That would be awesome.

They're not mediocre. They just don't take themselves too seriously.
Thats pretty dope tho. They started out a joke and eventually played infront of thousands in germany
@Fernando Herrera they weren't mediocre, Jimmy Pop's lyrics were genius, they just were not serious
Mediocre isn’t the word your looking for
mediocre - well technically they were not good musicians, apart maybe from Spanky G. But Jimmy Pop definitely knew how to write a tune and had a good sense for melodies. Plus the lyrics are super funny
I can't decide if jimmy pop was a genius or a grown middle schooler

By far one of the best live shows ever! HFStival was the best venue for them!
