A few facts: On regular tanks, using mini-weapons is pointless, since they do not fire at an angle (if tilted upward, they do not shoot at the enemy, even if they get into the path of the gun)
And in general they do less damage than regular weapons. It makes sense to only use a shotgun (there is no machine gun because it does less damage than the original)
so why a shotgun? It’s just that the shotgun has more damage than the original machine gun by about 400 units, it can also destroy incoming missiles or shells, it does not fire immediately, but sequentially, and only when they shoot at you.
And yes, the shotgun can also fire if the tank is frozen
