There's a misconception that Christopher regretted his decision by writing these lines Happiness is only real when shared .... But here i think he is talking about happiness being shared With nature , with universe , with every tree , with every soul , every family member . If you are not getting it , get it somewhere you belong to . He did the best thing.
The movie is beautiful.. Music is half the movie.. And the music from Micheal Brook and Eddie Vedder just fit perfectly.. Christopher Johnsen Mccandless still inspires people.. Rest in peace.
Still my biggest dream. Living my life in the simpliest way, enjoying each day a new and different sun. I'll just take my doggo with me and everything will be perfect; one day. One day.
"day is a long time when it has a 'one' behind it"... is a popular saying in my language. I hope you have the courage to fulfill your dreams somehow, and have a wonderful life!
he thought he was happy when really he was not!!! He understood later that that beauty, the mountains, rivers, the nature itself is beautiful but that happiness can only be real when shared...unfortunately we he understood that and tried to come back home it was too late and the river was too long to cross, at least thats what they let us see in the movie and what i got from the final message of it, but in reality i dont know what happened
I've never seen the movie but I've heard and read enough about him from other works that he starved to death in a bus and was actually very conflicted in real life vs the movie where he seemed to have it figured out for himself.
It would be more than magical to meet real "crazy people" like me :// ;people who want to be connected with the nature and just forget everythig dirty in this world...it can be a dream come true !! peace from a humble tunisian girl ;)
It has never been and will never be a better movie. Everyday and every breath i dream about leavin this place and go into the wild.............Chris I understood....
I miss faith, I miss eternity, ever since I came to this angst-ridden world, Longing for veritable altruism, someone, something to peel off all that anxiety. Lonesome freedom blow away those heavy stones of never-ending Weltschmerz.
good montage of the movie put together with a great song. agree with another, could have used a better scene for the ending..but still a good video of a great movie
a friend of mine did that, but I think he is coming back. I wish I had the dedication to leave it all behind, but im 17 so I guess it might be kinda early. oh well, beautiful movie tho =)
@Worshiver Whose words are those? They are really beautiful! Reminds me of those days, when I was young and lost, asking myself endless questions about what will happen with us, with me, on this crazy world. Never found any answers, just watched time passing by, and me getting gray, sophisticated, without ever reaching wisdom. I think that's a fate we cannot escape. Greetz
@Dennis6744 A friend of mine went to Alaska from Romania last summer. He worked there for 2 months and after that he lived in the wilds for one month with only his tent. It's not much, but still...
Bill Rawthee You're absolutly right! I saw the movie ( excellent movie btw ) but I had to read the book, and I think Jon Krakauer did an excellent job! And Krakauer was the perfect person to write about this story!
lucrese1 but now recently I came to read that Christopher's flight was not particularly about freedom-though it was part of it;he was fleeing family strife. Please check out the Wild Truth by Chris' sister Carine//
@Worshiver is the "I miss faith, I miss eternity,..." comment a quote or an original piece? either way it is brilliant and deserves recognition; even if only 4 lines long.
@Dennis6744 I too considered it. I think too much solitude is a lonely venture. You might like a book called North of Reliance by Dave Olesen. He and his wife moved from the lower 48 to the NWT in Canada in the middle of nowhere. It's a good read but not quite like what Chris did.
@Dennis6744 I did; at least for a little while. But then, the only reason my trip was cut so short was because my parents would not allow, but when I'm older... :)
Due anni lui gira per il mondo. Niente telefono, niente piscina, niente cani e gatti, niente sigarette.

life is not easy, but it's beautiful
Life is easy as is beautiful !!!
Song gives me the chills. Every time.
Everyone should watch this movie.
I was so touched by this movie. Can't even describe how it makes me feel....

No longer to be poisoned by civilization he flees, and walks alone upon the land to become lost in the wild
no phone, no pool, no pets, no cigarettes. Ultimate freedom.
I hope someday I could leave this world behind and live a free life just like him. I can not breathe...
Only in death and in our minds will we find ultimate freedom

Well, i'd like to take my dog with me on that type of journey.
An aesthetic voyager whose home is the road.
12 years later and I'm still in love with the message of this book/movie
The movie is beautiful..
Music is half the movie.. And the music from Micheal Brook and Eddie Vedder just fit perfectly..

Rest in peace.
After listening this beautiful track i tell my tears not to cry.....❤❤😢

"Society man!!! *Cough Cough* Society!!"
RIP Christopher McCandless, so much love to you.
One day I'll go to that Magic Bus in Alaska to honor you, dear Chris. You are an inspiration for me.
Love from Italy.
I envy how happy he was ..

I want the same thing as well
I dont think theres anything crazy about that. The concrete world is a cold and bitter place.
Emile Hirsch, Sean Penn and the Eddie Vedder soundtrack along with this Michael Brooks one make for an unforgettable and inspiring movie.
A MILLION THUMBS UP 4 THIS ONE! MOST INCREDIBLE MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN!

Before I die, if there is one movie that I could, it should be this.

This movie shows, for what it is worth to fight for...
Freedom
I would share this with my ex: the mother of my kids, to share my hurt, but somethings are best unsaid.
I would explain how hard that comment hit me, but...
"Rather than love, than money, than faith, than fame, than fairness... give me truth."
this helps me clear my mind
a friend of mine did that, but I think he is coming back. I wish I had the dedication to leave it all behind, but im 17 so I guess it might be kinda early. oh well, beautiful movie tho =)

HAPPINESS IS ONLY REAL WHEN SHARED. WORDS TO LIVE BY
Most wonderful song..
Something is really surreal about this track...one of my favorites.
@Worshiver

@Dennis6744 A friend of mine went to Alaska from Romania last summer.
He worked there for 2 months and after that he lived in the wilds for one month with only his tent. It's not much, but still...
You should read the book, Into the Wild by John Karauker, is what I am saying. And I ask in the politest possible way.
Bill Rawthee You're absolutly right! I saw the movie ( excellent movie btw ) but I had to read the book, and I think Jon Krakauer did an excellent job! And Krakauer was the perfect person to write about this story!

Wow what a perfect video....
watched this movie in class :)
@Worshiver is the "I miss faith, I miss eternity,..." comment a quote or an original piece? either way it is brilliant and deserves recognition; even if only 4 lines long.
I listen this song at least 50 times in a day, so short but so god damn expressive...
I cant believe how we passed 12 years
Actually fuck that thumbs up if you're going to make your life exiting after seeing this movie!
I WILL LIVE TO THIS.
Doing it as soon as I finish year 12 for a couple of months, or however long I feel.
Looks like no one dislikes this. Thats very understandable.

Esse filme é atemporal. Nessa sociedade cada vez mais decadente, mais eu sinto vontade de me isolar
merciiiiii …….
Melhor filme que já vi em toda minha vida
I dream to one day live like you, but i pray it becomes a reality
I considered it as well.....I really wish i would have.. The only thing stopping me is my love for my family and friends..
To all who love the sanctity of Nature
@Dennis6744 I did; at least for a little while. But then, the only reason my trip was cut so short was because my parents would not allow, but when I'm older... :)
