I don't mind Kung Fu Panda 4 existing but what I do mind is that DreamWorks wants to make TWO MORE SEQUELS. I'm not kidding they are planning to make another trilogy after this 4th movie, the reason why I like the idea of this movie is because it sounds like a love letter to the entire franchise and could be a great epilogue to Po's journey
@InevitableOption-ic2vx honestly I can see that working. And plus knowing DreamWorks has been making Disney look like an absolute joke and their previous movies' successes, I'll give them a chance and see what they can do
On the animation aspect, a lot of the same animators that were in KFP1-3 were laid off, and this could be a reason for the changed character structure.
Not particularly but unlike the Toy Story movies which had an ending that felt like a true ending TWICE! Kung Fu Panda 3 didn’t feel like a complete bookend to the series, so while I don’t think the fourth one was needed, I’m still curious to see where it goes story wise, the previous villains returning is also neat :)
Really? I felt like 3 ended everything perfectly. Po became the grandmaster of Kung Fu and chi. He found his people and real father. What else is there for po’s story to go?
The og character designer Nicolas Marlet for many characters including Shen, Tai lung, Ooguei, Tigress, Po etc is one of my most favorite artists in the industry. The way he designs the characters and blocky beauty that the og kung fu panda style is, I believe, partly because of him. While he has worked on all the films so far I have a feeling that he didn't work on this which is a huge fucking bummer for me.
@@Zoomer_Boiget those blooming onions , those are fried and taste the best with a creamy sauce, put it in a book bag wrapped with tinfoil and make the sour cream and onion sauce put it in a small container.
Something else that kinda bothers me about the art direction and character design is the chameleon's height. Up til now, all the animals have more or less been to scale with their real life sizes, which led to some pretty interesting scenes with characters like Mantis or Viper. The chameleon breaks that as she is very tall and lanky
@@YeahIDKWhyIPickedThisNameI mean, they weren't just complaining about it to be pedantic; they said that they liked how it created interesting scenes with smaller characters.
I'm pretty excited for this film. Personally, I love the idea of there being 6 films. The first the focusing more on Po being a student, and the other 3 being whatever comes after. My only two issues with this movie are the wolf character (forgot her name), and the new villain. I don't know what it is about the wolf character, but I get the feeling she's not going to be too interesting. And as for the new villain, my thoughts were exactly as this video stated. She's extremely similar to Kai, so that does make me concerned about more sequels. But still, looking forward to this!
May be script writer have something to surprise us. As a movie student, I can predict most movies stories & their endings. But "Kung Fu Panda" is different league for me, they always put rabbits out of hat. That's what I like.
Yeah... She also seems like those pull out character, you know who lead the main character somewhere... explain everything to him... doing everything while he just standing and like oh wow now we doing that
@@The_MEMEphis Yeah but A. It's not theatrical B. It acted as more of an origin story for the characters. It would be kind of cool to see the characters actually on an adventure together without po, maybe like a prequel story or something.
It looked to me like the lesson Po has to learn in this movie is that there is good in people who "are the bad guy". So far the villains have been straightforward bad guys that Po has to defeat. But Zhen is a criminal, Po has to recruit an army of criminals, and Tai Lung seemingly being back and having his kung fu removed. He might have to see the good in bad people in order to defeat the villain. Maybe the idea of Po being a "spiritual leader" is that he can't just save people from the bad guys, but he needs to inspire people to be better than they are. Zhen will need to become a hero. Perhaps Tai Lung will have some sort of redemption arc.
Yeah Tai Lung being in the first poster tells me that he's gonna have an arc of some kind, maybe Po helps him learn a brand new style unique to only him or it might be an arc of him and Shifu reconciling, either way I'm very interested in how they handle Tai Lung
It’s just Kai again, the villain is just Kai again, and all the furious five is now replaced with a fox. Come on man. I mean WHY WHY why would you make a whole new character you have enough and they’re already there.
I think they were saying that as a joke because just after they turned into Po. As in they literally weren't that different, physically, because they turned into a copy of Po.
@@TheRedMan77 I get what they were going for. I just don’t think it was a very clever line. There’s so many lines they could’ve said that make sense in that context. It just came off to me as lazy and played out personally
I watched the movie, and... let's just say your points about Po's character development from 2 and 3 not lining up with 4 are VERY much on point. The "inner peace" joke completely took me off guard as well. I didn't even remember how Po understood and proudly wore all the complex facets of his identity in the third movie, but you bringing that speech up not only reminded me how much I love the trilogy, but how disappointing 4 was. That's just my opinion, but WOW did I feel let down.
Yeah I'm 100% more concerned for this movie, due to the lack of the furious five in the trailer and the childish gimmicks we've seen so far, (and also Awkwafina -) I want it to happen, the villain seems nice but it lacks something that the previous 3 instalments had. I feel KFP4 has just taken a step back of development and attachments it spent years perfecting, and a step into Boss Baby route.
Kung Fu Panda is about Po's development from a student, into a master. The furious 5 really serve no purpose to Po anymore, I forgot which movie it was became he became their master in one of them already. It's time for Po to move on
The Furious Five are in the cast list, don't worry. We're getting them back, they (probably) just aren't the main focus of the movie. Besides, DreamWorks trailers always tend to emphasize the movie's comedic moments. Like, I don't think anyone really could have seen the briliance of Tai Lung's character coming based on the trailers for the first film. Edit: ...So I was mistaken...
i was pretty skeptical on the idea of a villain who's main gimmick is to just use previous good villains to do their work (or rather transform them into I suppose), but after seeing this trailer I´ve become more hopeful because it actually looks kinda cool. I'm still skeptical on the idea tho, and I'm also overall skeptical of the quality the movie will have. but I´ll remain cautiously optimistic as I really loved the previous movies (especially the second one, probably my favorite childhood movie).
I hope they have a twist at some point in the movie where, as they established the other members of the furious 5 are elswhere, that at some point the villain captured them too and Po will have to defeat the styles of his four friends and training partners. Maybe have a really cool fight scene where the villain is rapidly switching between crane, snake, mantis, monkey, and tiger, mixing their moves and Po has to figure out how to counter a rapid barrage of 5 different styles.
It should be noted that Kung Fu Panda 2's trailer exhibited similar traits to KF4 trailer. It used Pump It by Black Eyed Peas as a track. They also have a formula for pausing the music for gags. The difference is that the lighting seems more dramatic and it has a massive set piece at the end. However, at least from the trailers I found, it doesn't introduce Shen, one of the best things about the movie.
Disney: *Announces Toy Story 5 even after the franchise ended satisfyingly* Everyone: "Boooooo cash grab" Dreamworks: *Does the same thing with Shrek and Kung Fu Panda* Everyone: "Take my money"
Well was Puss in Boots 2 necessary? And that phenomenal movie came from a kinda mediocre spinoff of Shrek. This one is coming from a trilogy of greats! So I have high hopes. Not seeing the trailers cause I wanna be surprised! Like I did with Spider-verse and the Mario Movie.
you're missing the point. puss in boots was just a mediocre spinoff movie that nobody really remembers. puss in boots the last wish was an unexpected sequel, and it went in a completely different direction from the first movie. the second movie really explored the idea of living and developed puss' character immensely, and made him a far more memorable character than he ever was before that. meanwhile kung fu panda 4 will be an unexpected sequel, but for a trilogy which pretty much fully explored the journey of po and his path to becoming a dragon warrior. I'll be glad if this movie actually gives po more real character development and acts as a worthy follow up, but I don't have a feeling it will. puss in boots the last wish was a sequel nobody knew that they needed, while kung fu panda 4 already feels like an unneeded sequel
Something I couldn't help but feel when I saw the wolf character was "Oh another Elsa face", and then I remembered this was supposed to be Dreamworks and not Disney. Was it so hard to give her more angular eyes? Even in the trailer shot when she looks like she's angry, her eyes are still round and barely are crossed. Only in that Blue/Orange cross shot do her eyes look more natural, and I feel that should be more her more default look rather than a determined look she gives Poe there. Like look at Tigress, how she has angular eyes that compliment her design despite being more "fuller" in her head and arm design.
yeah, the fox/wolf girl has a very generic design, with a very generic choice of animal. especially when you compare it with the mainly asiatic cast of animals it feels pretty lazy.
I really do like the idea of Po finding a successor to the Dragon Warrior but I fear that they’ll completely butcher Po’s character in this movie and gloss over his character development for the sake of continuing the franchise. I know Dreamworks is struggling with money and these sequels are some of the only things keeping the lights on rn but I’m not okay with it when it genuinely hurts a franchise I love as much as KFP.
I just love how you are certain that this movie will butcher Po's character only after watching the first trailer. TH-cam is a place of wonderful people.
I think a potentiallly good sequel idea would be about Po being defeated by this new style of martial art by a new villian (possibly a baboon) injured, Po exiles himself to a far unknown region. There he is taught in the ways of this ancient kung fu by a hermit and former master Honey Badger. Having lived in isolation for so long, Badger is a little insain. Po learns this new fighting style, musters the strenght to return and defeats this new Foe
As a dragonball fan i feel like they are doing the same to po as they did to goku. Instead of going the original direction with po maturing in becoming a great mentor and martial artist, they put a sequel that no one asks for making him childish again.
Idk but I'm excited to see Tai Lung returning, I hope he has a bigger role than just showing up for a bit to have his kung fu stolen then sent away. Seems like a good foundation for a redemption arc for him, where at the end Po possibly passes the title of Dragon Warrior to him with Po taking on his bigger responsibilities.
I am extremely down for the Tai Lung redemption arc but him becoming Dragon Warrior would completely invalidate it imo. His redemption literally has to be him learning to be ok NOT being the dragon warrior
@@jeremytewari3346 That makes sense, but it can also be said that at the time he wanted to be Dragon Warrior in the first movie he “wasn’t ready” but then he gets his redemption and learns important qualities such as patience. Either way I hope he gets his redemption. Edit: I was partially right
The Chameleon has Shifu's adaptive mimicry battle style (literal watch and learn) and the shape-shifting ability granted by the Shift Stones from the Nickelodeon series.
The thing that worries me is that the director is Mike Mitchell, and he's directed films like; - "Trolls" - "The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part" - "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water" - "Shrek Forever After" Don't get me wrong, they're fine, but they never really grew on me. And, bringing back all the villains (INCLUDING LORD FUCKING SHEN) concerns me. Let's just hope he's fond enough of the story to give an actual continuation.
I believe in Mitchell. To be honest, Shrek 4 was great! Y’all are just mean. Giving an emotional finale (at least it was a finale then) to one of DreamWorks’ series. Sponge out of water, Mitchell actually directed the love action sequences of that movie which were really good, you can’t deny that, and I know I might get so much flack for this but: even Trolls wasn’t that terrible. It still had its good moments in that movie, though not being the best movie ever, I’d say it’s a decent movie that has some things to remember. But that is simply just me
I couldn't quite put my finger on what was wrong, it somehow looks like the series on Netflix mixed with the look of the older movies. You managed to explain why it feels to me like that, it's the character designs not being in cohesion and being the lighting change from less ambient shadows to a ambient light which means there are less shadows overall making it feel a bit more flat.
KFP 1: Amazing KFP 2: Amazing KFP 3: It's... Okay Thoughts on what I've seen so far from KFP 4: It's just a rehash of fucking KFP 3 lol, I'm gonna see it but my hopes of it being interesting is down the drain. Update: I just noticed something, KFP 4 is just Shrek 3... *Drops mic*
I just hope its not like 3, but more like 1 and 2. Thats honestly how it decides it. 3s' villain wasn't a real villain, and po's journey was nothing like the others. It didn't ask critical questions like the first two. KFP 1: "What makes me special, what makes me different than anyone else. What makes ME, NOT a LOSER?" KFP2: "Who am I? Does where do I come from effect that? What am I, if I wasn't born here?" KFP3: "uhh, who am i again... but worse?" So it all entirely depends on the above. ^ Instead of who am I, or What am I, maybe they should answer "What should I do? Who should I become?" "If I am the most powerful kung-fu master to ever be, and I am the determiner of where kung fu should go... how could I lead this? How can I effect this generation?" That would be amazing to answer. But if the villain is just another Kai where the only bad-ass-ness we get from him is the same replayed slowed down reverbed pop-song... it doesn't need to exist.
Is share these concerns but the fact that there were always going to be 6 and this wasn't forced on them by the studio(at least not in the way most sequels are) gives me sone hope
Imo even Panda 3 wasn't necessary. 1 & 2 came out close to each other (three years apart), I saw them both in theaters as a kid, then they teased 3 at the end of 2 and then... nothing for so long. When 3 came out five years later I barely heard about it and didn't really have interest in seeing it. Went back and watched it last year and it was perfectly fine, but idk I was perfectly happy with just 1 & 2 living in my head and 2 being a conclusion with inner peace I guess. And like 3 wasn't bad but it didn't feel necessary either, take it or leave it. Maybe 4 will be the same, idk.
Seeing the chamelion transform into Po and she eats Tai Long's Chi, energy, or soul and how Shifu said he's not going to be the dragon warrior, is it going to be the next Skywalker or Indiana Jones Bait and Switch? I don't know how I feel about this movie. I'm very skeptical. The only bright side is how creative the villain is. Though i do wonder how her powers exactly work. Does she eat their soul and die, or their willpower, Chi, energy to fight?
I just think every storyline will follow a natural process to where a call for a proper ending is needed. At some point, enough is enough regardless of the “quality” to any more sequels
This feels a little like a story from the animated series, not going to lie, just with better animation and even less a reason to exist, based on what I've seen. I'd be curious to see your thoughts on DreamWorks shows based on their movies, actually. Legends of Awesomeness actually has some good villains and stories to tell among them.
5:14 What I find really funny about this is that Death Battle just did Bill vs Discord a few months ago, and they talked about the headache it was to properly research Bill because he was such a mystery and he only appeared in like 5 episodes.
7:07 Wasn't Po supposed to become the teacher in the third installment, why is he still relying on Shifu for training or advice. The obvious thing DreamWorks could do for a sequel is making him take his own journey relying on himself and bringing in new characters who aren't there for cringe 'children + violence = funny' type of jokes. Hell, maybe it could be a story about him passing the mantel onto someone else to be the dragon warrior as he ascends to a spiritual leader (maybe I figured out the plot already).
For this movie, I’m going to go into it they way I’ve gone into a lot of movies nowadays Cautiously Optimistic, considering the change in Directors from Kung Fu Panda 2/3 to Kung Fu Panda 4
I fully agree with the "This movie isn't nessecary and too similar to older titles." I think Dreamworks is having a bit of a problem right now, where they try to bring back stuff. After The Last Wish, they said they'd bring back Shrek, even after that was pretty much closed off with an incredible ending, so why keep it going? I'd much rather see them do something new and original.
My big issue is the villains, after 2, they became so generic and pointless. It went from “I’m going to become who I’m meant to be” and “I will build my own empire” to “I will steal all Kung Fu” and… “I will steal all Kung Fu…” Without any personal connections or at least a dark reflection of a character, they mean nothing and the plot feels unnecessary as a result.
We don’t really know the motives behind the new villain outside of the fact that she can take peoples powers and abilities. Could it be steak all king fu? Maybe. But maybe it’s a personal thing of, you all think you’re better than me but you’re not. Type of thing. But that can also fall in line with Tai Lung
The trailer definitely was worrying, but I’m still holding on to some hope for the movie. There’s clearly a lot they aren’t showing. I’m pretty sure it’s already confirmed Shen and Kai are going to show up in the movie, and they aren’t even mentioned in the trailer. Li Shan is in the poster for the movie, and he appears in like, one shot of the trailer. So hopefully there’s a lot of interesting stuff left that we haven’t seen.
Yeah not gonna lie, I'm scared for this movie. Don't get me wrong, the trailers looks ok... but... something about it just feels... off... to me, like I just witnessed all that this movie will have going for it. I _REALLY_ hope that I'm not right.
I know, right? Where is the creativity? We got Shen out of this franchise, and I could've watched a whole prequel special just about him. Even a villain from one of the TV series (all THREE OF THEM) is pretty much just Shen+Kai. I give them credit that the two made later had more solid ongoing stories when the first show was more of a "everday lives" story. Also are the films just totally ignoring all tv show and specials? I mean we don't need a spirit bomb power where everyone contributes but if the film is not going to have th e furious5 around then I hope something more interesting than we know is going on, in the very least.
5:56 This is something I rarely say, but, even kai at least works in a more fun way. Instead of just being "oh, I am that character" Kai at least had an unique fighting style
Yeah Kung Fu Panda 3 wasn’t as good as the first two, but considering what Dreamworks was releasing before and after this movie, thank GOD it was as great as it was. Okay except for Captain Underpants. That movie was epic.
I love KFP and I have decent hopes for the movie, but I kinda got the impression that the Chameleon was them trying to do Kai and the Jade Zombies again because they weren't very well executed in the third movie. It didn't help that the first villain they showed returning was Tai Lung, who was weirdly absent from Kung Fu Panda 3 despite Kai having his Chi, yet for some reason never decided to use him once.
Is it necessary, nah? Kung Fu Panda 3 ended a good note to complete Po's character arc, having him train the new generation. But unlike How to Train Your Dragon 3, it's not an ending that closes the door to any follow up. So I'm not gonna complain if we get a new one.
While I do agree that it's questionably how necessary a kung fu panda, I'm still excited for it, though I guess it should say while kung fu panda 3 was a conclusion of Po's story of becoming the dragon warrior, and with his task now being different in this one I imagine this is a new arc for him, as for what it is, we're yet to see. Well I'm still excited for it, after all it may be the final one we see for a while if at all.
The main thing that concerns me the most about this movie is its existence, that it could turn out like how Toy Story 4 did, with how unnecessary it was, as the third movie should have been the end of the series, for both franchises really, with how bastardized its main characters were and how the other characters were pushed to the side: like, Po becomes an unlikable prick, Master Shifu or the furious five become dumb oafs and Tai Lung and the other two (if they return at all that is) may not be as intimidating as they were in their respective movies
..... Wait, they're bringing back *all* the old villains?! Okay so correct me if I am wrong because I didn't watch any movie in this franchise (sue me), but.... didn't Shen and Kai both die? Like from what I gathered, the former got a friggin' boat crashing on him and the latter got literally obliterated down to the soul. So.... how can they be back?
it was such a beautiful trilogy, there was no need for a fourth movie and i actively hate that there is one. as you said, it undermines the progress made in previous films, and it is a rehashing of multiple aspects of the previous films, in more ways than one. there are different writers for this film, and also, the chameleon size difference makes no sense. and all of those weird creatures. and where are the furious five? i cant believe dreamworks is actually this stupid
Even after the movie was first announced. I had my concerns. If anything. These frequent sequels are highly reminiscent of those of Ice Age. Where you COULD have ended it but chose to milk it dry. I'm afraid it will eventually loose it's touch.
I don't think that 4 movie is a must have but dreamwokrs proved that they came back to game after long break I hope that puss in boots and kung fu panda are a warmup before making another animated movies with new characters
@@ajakakakak I hope they get back on the horse soon. Making more serious, less cookie-cutter movies is always a good remedy in going against the grain.
Dreamworks has always been up and down. Since they make a variety of films, they can miss a lot, but when they hit.. They hit hard. I'd say cautious optimism is better, as dreamworks hasn't milked as bad as Disney. We can only hope 🙏
I'm sorry without at least Tigress as a main character the movie will probably suck. Why do we need an entirely new cast when the Furious Five are beloved characters with solid designs? They already proved that they were able to be expanded upon in the series where they gave them backstories.
The fact that we’re getting a six-film series in the Kung Fu Panda franchise is absolutely insane! I mean, should movie studios really put numbers on the logos for nearly every sequel they make?
I am actually afraid whether kung fu panda 4 will be had, bcs chameleon is like. I don't really see it becoming an interesting villain, we dont see the furious five. And like he said chameleon is kai 2.0 except she can take appearance of the chi stolen animal, also where is mr ping.
They're gonna push feminism with this movie. Probably with Aquafina. Kung Fu Panda peaked at the second movie with the really cool psychopathic peacock. But now, because God forbid we have an evil villian who is evil for evil's sake, everything is gonna turn into an emotional, virtue signaling, happy-clappy mess. Rip Kung Fu Panda 2008 - 2024.
Idea: What if making Zhen to be seen to be mid at kung fu, beating some guys but needing to be saved by the furious 5, which po then sences Zhen as someone with the spirit to be good at the kung fu, and po teaches her as the story goes along and see her get better until the end where she fights alongside po. This could mean the continuation of his goal and finally retire from dragon warrior and create a new one, finishing the cycle of it.
The concept of the movie isn't and if anything just shows how dry the barrel is for DreamWorks but I honestly have faith that the fourth movie could be good. I just hope they don't go the toy story route and make a fifth film.
I know I'm in a minority, but personally, I'm open to more Kung Fu panda movies beyond the third entry. I have heard many people say a franchise most have a conclusion, but really, as long as there is a good story to tell, you can make as many movies you like.
I like this take of yours of kung fu panda 4 and your explanation, although i have disagreements still enjoyed this. I get being cautious and worried for the trilogy i am too, though I usually not have my expectations high for anything i watch. Hope you are doing good and happy holidays!
KungFu panda two was the best of em all. It's dark, not too much comedy and the writing is top tier. Almost like it was written and direct by a complete different people. I wish they made KungFu Panda 4 much more darker than what we saw on the trailer, it looks like a parody movie with an unecessary amount of comedy.
the thing that upset me the most is that the put the villan as po, what will most likley be at the end of the movie, or what it builts up to be. and i know it was an almost given if to hapen if it not was in the trailer but still. almost like a spoiler. and the new fox carracter just does not fit in at al.
I agree with all of your points. The trailer just felt safe, and off compared to the other movies in the series. If it ends up good, like Puss in Boots 2. I’ll probably watch it. But if it ends up how I think it will. I will likely skip on it, which is something I never though I’d say with a Kung Fu Panda movie
I'm cautiously optimistic. I think we were all asking if Puss in Boots: The Last Wish was necessary, but we all know that movie turned out waaay better than it had any right to be, so I'm open to the possibility this movie will cook too. If nothing else, I have high expectations that Viola Davis is going to make a great villain.
I immediately thought of a better plot as well as a way to have old characters comeback. And an easy way to setup the next movie. - Someone who despises kungfu because during a battle a loved one of theirs was lost. - Have that person dedicate their life to entering the Afterlife (I forget the proper name) to bring back all the characters who tried to Kill Po (Dragon Warrior aka the peak of kungfu). - Have Po and everyone else go around defeating each character sending them back. - End the move with Po doing some super heroic thing and someone young in the crowd sees this who could be an apprentice approach Po with fire in their eyes (figuratively speaking) asking him to teach them how to master Kung Fu, zoom in on Po, he smiles, opens his mouth, cut to credits. Boom you have your entire movie.

Something else that kinda bothers me about the art direction and character design is the chameleon's height. Up til now, all the animals have more or less been to scale with their real life sizes, which led to some pretty interesting scenes with characters like Mantis or Viper. The chameleon breaks that as she is very tall and lanky

Her name is Zhen.
Yeah... She also seems like those pull out character, you know who lead the main character somewhere... explain everything to him... doing everything while he just standing and like oh wow now we doing that
The wolf girl makes me think of Tigress from the Five and then I remember that they aren’t in the trailer and then I ended up hating it.

IDK, I think Zen looks like illumination designed her for a film but they never used her so they just let DreamWorks use her
It looked to me like the lesson Po has to learn in this movie is that there is good in people who "are the bad guy".
Ohhh I think this idea would be wonderful! I hope it happens
Oh I like this
Se escribe shen y tienes razón sería bueno ver a po dándose cuenta que no todo es blanco y negro solo son grises
Yeah Tai Lung being in the first poster tells me that he's gonna have an arc of some kind, maybe Po helps him learn a brand new style unique to only him or it might be an arc of him and Shifu reconciling, either way I'm very interested in how they handle Tai Lung
Hm, this does make me somewhat hopeful, but I'm keeping my expectations low for now.
It’s just Kai again, the villain is just Kai again, and all the furious five is now replaced with a fox. Come on man. I mean WHY WHY why would you make a whole new character you have enough and they’re already there.
Just make Tai lung the sidekick
It's not even a good Kai like Bruh
Don't compare the chameleon to Kai
Atleast Kai was actually a threat, had good screen presence and had a gas theme.
The chameleon is *nothing*
I got worried for the writing when they have the villain unironically say “we’re not so different you an I” in the first trailer
I think they were saying that as a joke because just after they turned into Po. As in they literally weren't that different, physically, because they turned into a copy of Po.
@@TheRedMan77I'm pretty sure the chameleon was previously a dragon warrior gone wrong which is why they said that

So that was the red flag for you and not the fart joke on the first trailer
Seems Chameleon will be posing as other villains most of the time which worries me because we won’t get to see who they actually are.
Furious Five is going to be in there. No worries

Kung Fu Panda 4 : The Quest For More Money
This is orobably what it will be.
i was pretty skeptical on the idea of a villain who's main gimmick is to just use previous good villains to do their work (or rather transform them into I suppose), but after seeing this trailer I´ve become more hopeful because it actually looks kinda cool. I'm still skeptical on the idea tho, and I'm also overall skeptical of the quality the movie will have. but I´ll remain cautiously optimistic as I really loved the previous movies (especially the second one, probably my favorite childhood movie).
Same here im cautiously optimistic as well, im always down for more kung fu panda
I have a feeling it will be at least decent!
The second one is the goat
We already had a villain that used other people's power to make themselves stronger. That was kai's whole thing in the third movie.
Everyone owe this guy an apology, because this video aged well!
The KF2 trailer on YT shows Shen, however it is admittedly so quick that it can be forgiven to have missed it
I am so glad I never saw the trailers for the second film or the first, so I didn't get any sort of spoilers or wrong impressions.

you're missing the point. puss in boots was just a mediocre spinoff movie that nobody really remembers. puss in boots the last wish was an unexpected sequel, and it went in a completely different direction from the first movie. the second movie really explored the idea of living and developed puss' character immensely, and made him a far more memorable character than he ever was before that. meanwhile kung fu panda 4 will be an unexpected sequel, but for a trilogy which pretty much fully explored the journey of po and his path to becoming a dragon warrior.

I just have mixed feelings about the villain. No matter what everybody says - it just feels like a new Kai.
I really do like the idea of Po finding a successor to the Dragon Warrior but I fear that they’ll completely butcher Po’s character in this movie and gloss over his character development for the sake of continuing the franchise.

There he is taught in the ways of this ancient kung fu by a hermit and former master Honey Badger. Having lived in isolation for so long, Badger is a little insain. Po learns this new fighting style, musters the strenght to return and defeats this new Foe

I am extremely down for the Tai Lung redemption arc but him becoming Dragon Warrior would completely invalidate it imo. His redemption literally has to be him learning to be ok NOT being the dragon warrior

The Chameleon has Shifu's adaptive mimicry battle style (literal watch and learn) and the shape-shifting ability granted by the Shift Stones from the Nickelodeon series.
The thing that worries me is that the director is Mike Mitchell, and he's directed films like;
- "Trolls"
- "The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part"
- "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water"
- "Shrek Forever After"
Don't get me wrong, they're fine, but they never really grew on me. And, bringing back all the villains (INCLUDING LORD FUCKING SHEN) concerns me.

Shrek Forever After is excellent. I've been on that camp even before Schaff made his video on it.
"lord fucking shen" that made me laugh a lil
I believe in Mitchell. To be honest, Shrek 4 was great! Y’all are just mean. Giving an emotional finale (at least it was a finale then) to one of DreamWorks’ series. Sponge out of water, Mitchell actually directed the love action sequences of that movie which were really good, you can’t deny that, and I know I might get so much flack for this but: even Trolls wasn’t that terrible. It still had its good moments in that movie, though not being the best movie ever, I’d say it’s a decent movie that has some things to remember. But that is simply just me
Didnt he also direct Alvin and the Chipmunks 3?
I couldn't quite put my finger on what was wrong, it somehow looks like the series on Netflix mixed with the look of the older movies.
You managed to explain why it feels to me like that, it's the character designs not being in cohesion and being the lighting change from less ambient shadows to a ambient light which means there are less shadows overall making it feel a bit more flat.

What makes ME, NOT a LOSER?"
KFP2: "Who am I? Does where do I come from effect that? What am I, if I wasn't born here?"
KFP3: "uhh, who am i again... but worse?"
So it all entirely depends on the above. ^ Instead of who am I, or What am I, maybe they should answer "What should I do? Who should I become?"
"If I am the most powerful kung-fu master to ever be, and I am the determiner of where kung fu should go... how could I lead this? How can I effect this generation?"
That would be amazing to answer.
But if the villain is just another Kai where the only bad-ass-ness we get from him is the same replayed slowed down reverbed pop-song... it doesn't need to exist.

Well I'm still excited for it, after all it may be the final one we see for a while if at all.
you will see, this small foxie will be new Dragon Warior or some kind of Po student
Not seeing the furious 5 is a big red flag

Rip Kung Fu Panda 2008 - 2024.
Kung Fu Panda 4 is going to be Kung Fu Panda 3 2.0 from what i getting of the trailer.
The girl fox looks straight out of illumination lmao
If they give tai lung a redemption arc and perhaps give him the role of dragon warrior, then kung fu panda 4 would be an excellent movie.
Well it’s already been said that the wolf Awkwafina plays is gonna be the new dragon warrior so
@echo-048 oh then the movie sucks
@@echo-048Who tf even is that ☠️

The concept of the movie isn't and if anything just shows how dry the barrel is for DreamWorks but I honestly have faith that the fourth movie could be good. I just hope they don't go the toy story route and make a fifth film.
They plan for 6
Yeah 4-6 will be Po’s journey as a master
I know I'm in a minority, but personally, I'm open to more Kung Fu panda movies beyond the third entry. I have heard many people say a franchise most have a conclusion, but really, as long as there is a good story to tell, you can make as many movies you like.
I like this take of yours of kung fu panda 4 and your explanation, although i have disagreements still enjoyed this. I get being cautious and worried for the trilogy i am too, though I usually not have my expectations high for anything i watch. Hope you are doing good and happy holidays!
The original trilogy is still my favorite piece of media in general, so I seriously HOPE that they don’t mess up the fourth one.
furious five is mandatory omg. waited years for them and i didnt see a single scene of them in the trailer...
Rycycling ideas and bringing back old characters for the sake of it, oh boi, did this ever go right ?
The original plan for DreamWorks was always 6 movies. 3 movies with him being a student, and 3 as a master.
