Doug Hannon was my go to Bass guru. I bought his VHS tapes. I consider him the humble, Bass Tactical Teacher. Thank you for bringing old school teachers to you tube.
This guy was my frikken hero when I was a little kid. Seen almost every episode of his shows. Just out of the blue, I typed in "Bill Dance tutorial video" and found this. Such an enjoyable blast from the past. Thanks.
High quality content without the modern insubstantial sponsored directed material given today. You can learn more from this golden era real pro's in 1 hour than watching today's crap for a year, ty so much.
Nice to have this, saved it to a fishing folder. Watched Bill Dance regularly on weekends back in the 80's and learned a lot. He is also very funny too.
Solid gold Saturday morning memories! Love it when Bill somewhat uncheerfully demonstrates a great hook removal technique on his own hand and recommends the application of an antiseptic to "prevent the invasion of germs" while licking his wound with germ-ridden saliva (31:06)!! Great ironic humor.
His instructions still hold true to this very day. The only other fisherman that can hold a candle to Bill's contribution to understanding U.S. fishing is Buck Perry.
One of my local lakes (a State Park) is about 240 acres and doesn't support any industry so the water level remains constant all year. In the fall/winter of 2020, the normal pool level was dropped about 6' so a handicap pier could be erected. When I arrived at the lake in the spring of 2021, my jaw dropped at the incredible amount of rock cover that had been exposed. I decided then and there to fish nowhere else in the county and instead concentrate on learning that particular body of water. I had the most successful Bass fishing season of my life.
I had no idea about the false eye spot. I usually look for realistic lures that have the spot to blend better as a baitfish, but I guess I should just match colors with no eye spot and see if it makes a difference.
People who don’t fish always ask me why I throw all my fish back I tell them Bass are my sport fish that I come back to fish over and over again I do believe that some should be taken out of the waters I fish and I’m sure there are people that do that job for me I just can’t bring myself to do it I love them too much it would be like killing and eating my dog
I have been hoping for some time that someone would start a channel like this! The new shows can't even compare with the classics. Hope there's more to come! You wouldn't happen to have any episodes of Go Fish with Fish Fishburne, would you? I'd like my kids to see some of those!
MAN!!! Been a long time since I heard ole Black Max Mercury. That is the baddest sounding outboard ever!!!! IMHO. I don’t know why Mercury wants to make the motor quieter and quieter. Unless your running your big motor while fishing the engine sound has no effect on your fishing. Besides that the fish are desensitized to big motor sound if you fish a large reservoir.
Man bass fishing is so much different now. There was no whacky rig, drop shot, or neko fishing back then. We wouldn't dream of whacky rigging a worm back then. I just carried a couple worms and some spinner baits, and sometimes some shiners. Seems like back then bass always hit the head of a bait. I would use Mann 10" worms and they always hit the head where my hook was. I wasn't into crank baits back then. If I wanted to fish deep I just used a heavy Texas rig. I saw no point in buying expensive crank baits and could always keep up with friends that used crank baits.
Remember the Dancin eel ?? He caught a bass on it early in the show. I would like to try and fish that lure now that I’m a much better fisherman than I was when I was a kid.
I am not dissing on you. I am curious. Do you like to go fast in your bass boat? Or your fine with doing 45mph? I think Mercury is listening to you because there motors seem to be getting quieter and quieter yet we can do over 100mph.
@@user-sh2mk8ew4c I'm a poor old almost 40yr old man with no boat, no depth finder, envious of those who do..I remember all those old engines and the noise they make, lol..I still bushwack the banks of secluded ponds and lakes, or those seldom found locations along rivers like Fishkill and Walkill here in NY looking out for sink holes and climbing over ankle breaker rocks of reservoirs still...I go hunting points and cover.
@@RG-cd3uf you dont think that engine scares fish away when pulling up to a spot?..I'm broke I dont got a motor in anything but my car so what do I know..I bushwack the bank or sometimes slide a kyak in..
My dad watched Bill Dance and Billy Westmoreland! Miss these old vids. Thanks for uploading these treasures.
These older videos are gems! They hold way more substance, compared to this new aged entertainment.

He is the best. I read his fist book when I was 11. That being Said today I realize it is theory.

This is the fishing Bible written by the high priest of fishing the honorable Bill Dance. God bless ya man 😊

Bill Dance was not only a great fisherman, but also a pioneering linguist. He coined the word "substantuate."
I love you Bill ! I grew up w/ you
That boat is beautiful, I’d love to have it today!
Makes me feel like a kid again. My Rebel minnows and Zebco 33
I use to watch all the big fishing shows back in the mid 80s to mid 90s. I forgot how informative this show was.

This was from that 84-87 sweet spot.
I remember watching this before football came on. I was 15 when this aired.

Back on Saturday nbc local TV i watch it with grandpa
@29:30 Bill sinks a big-ass hook into his palm to demonstrate how to remove a hook, now THAT'S dedication!
God I lived for this show
Great info! I love this video!
This is my new favorite channel
Bill is different.. he actually hooked em self to show us how to remove a hook
Then proceeded to hope it went right
Just fishing with goat bill dance
I love the Dance
Glad I found this channel keep it coming
When we stop learning that is when we stop growing in knowledge
When Bill Dance speaks, smart fisherman LISTEN.
God bless bill dance
This guy keeps it so real he literally hooked himself to show us how to properly remove a hook from your palms!
Wow, this , makes me appreciate my quite motor

Back when ranger boats were less than 15000 new
But even back then out of reach of most anglers.
I use a lot of different baits bill but I always go back to my 3/8 white/char spinnerbait
And mine is a blue/white spinnerbait. As Bill says...it's all a confidence thing.
Concrete blocks in the water🤣🤣🍁🎣⚓️😀
