I loved Joan Davis, she was one of the very best. She had all the tools it takes to be talented and funny. Her comedic timing, how she delivered a line, even the tone of her voice. I'm sure she was a solid influence to others, I see it in comedians to this day. I was 3-4 years old when I first watched 'I married Joan' and I still remember. Seeing her and Jim Backus again is a joyus trip down memory lane.
I'm surprised to see them in a double bed together in this episode!! Speaking of bed...it's wonderful to see the lovely nightgowns and pajamas the ladies of the 1950's wore to bed....and here I am in my shorts and T-Shirt. (lol) :):):)
I remember watching this episode when I was ten! Why it should be this episode is a mystery, but the loose manhole cover must have fixed itself in my young mind. Strange how selective the memory is, for no apparent reason. Thanks for that.
They must have been the only married couple on TV at the time who didn't sleep in separate beds! I wonder how they got away with that. Watching this episode, I realized that Joan Davis and Danny Kaye shared some comic facial expressions at times.
@@youyong28 yes they did have separate beds earlier, they still may be the earliest comedy to show people sharing a bed. Some say Herman and Lily Munster were the first on TV to share a double bed. Looks like Joan and Brad beat them to it. This episode was 1954. LOL
Joan Davis was a remarkable comedienne, but I feel I love lucy was a superior product in terms of writing. If she had the same great writing team as ILL, she would have surpassesed Lucy. Also, I cant help but wish she had other supporting players like an Ethel or Fred. Even Burns and Allens had a great second couple to bounce off of.
If you get to see some of her movies from the 1930's and 1940's, you will see that she was an accomplished tap dancer and was a good singer. She was also a hilarious physical comedienne taking unbelievable falls. She was one of the most talented women ever to perform in the movies, radio, and television.

Wonderful show!! Love joan and jim! She was Very talented!!!❤❤
Joan and Brad Stevens sleep in the same bed this season, no more twin beds!
I noticed that too! Even Rob and Laura Petrie had twin beds years later.
Twinbeds pushed together.

Chris Nickens Yes, they did! As for the beds, pretty progressive!
I was noticing the bed, too, but if you look closely, they are actually on separate beds but they are very close and share the same head board. :)
In earlier seasons they did sleep in separate beds.

Joan Davis the funniest female of all time. She's hilarious! Move over Lucy
Joan has a very low contralto singing voice

@@youyong28yes! A great talent!!!❤
Joan truly WAS The Queen of Comedy. NOT Lucy
