  • In 2020, Sanxingdui Museum will launch a new permanent exhibition "Ancient City, Ancient Country, Ancient Shu Culture Exhibition", which is divided into two exhibition areas, a comprehensive hall and a bronze hall, with a total of 479 cultural relics (sets) on display.
    A large-scale video installation is installed in the exhibition hall. The design prototype of the diamond-shaped screen comes from the "eye-shaped bronze ornament" unearthed at the Sanxingdui site. The device plays the film "Eye of Sanxingdui" in a loop, reviewing the key nodes discovered and excavated in Sanxingdui over the past 100 years, and introduces the latest archaeological research results of the site.
    The exhibition hall of the comprehensive hall has the theme of "Samsung Moon-The Brilliant Ancient Shu Civilization". The exhibition area is 4000 square meters and displays a total of 348 pieces (sets) of cultural relics, including pottery, jade, gold, and bronze. The history of Shu, the achievements of Sanxingdui Ancient Shu in various fields, and the important role it played in the origin and formation of Chinese civilization.
    The Bronze Museum’s display is divided into 5 parts: "Mysterious Mask-Sanxingdui Bronze Mask", "Man and God Dance-Statues of Gods and Witches and Sacrifice Ceremony", "A Thousand Years of Shu Soul-A Unique Treasure of the Ancestral Temple", and "Mystery of the Ages" --Sanxingdui Conjecture" "Mind Journey--The Story of Sanxingdui Discovery", exhibited 131 pieces (sets) of bronze cultural relics, exploring the theme of "Man and God" in Sanxingdui culture.
    The most noteworthy cultural relic in this exhibition is "Mountain Sacrifice Jade Bianzhang", which was unearthed in 1986 for the first long time and has been publicly displayed for the first time. "Zhang" is an ancient ritual tool used to worship mountains. This jade edge zhang is 54.5 cm long and 8.8 cm wide. It is carved with 4 sets of the same sacrificial scenes, reflecting the beliefs of the ancestors of Sanxingdui.
