  • Pro X Case Customized For QSC Touchmix 8 /// When I purchased my QSC Touchmix 8, I immediately started planning my custom flight case build to house the Touchmix. I chose a Pro X case, but it was not specifically designed for the QSC Touchmix 8, but rather a DJ controller case. Because of that, I had to customize it to fit my needs.
In this video, I’ll show you a few ideas that might help you if you are looking for options on modifying your flight case. Not only did I have to make a few cuts into the case, but I also used the services of Redco Audio to custom build cables and connectors so everything would fit just right.

Thanks for checking out my video on how I customized my Pro X road case to fit my QSC Touchmix 8 and wireless accessories. Do you customize your cases when you get a new controller? It's something I always do. Share your projects in the comments!

Three year old video, I know... But can you close that Pro-X case with the housings for the Audio-Technica ATW-RU13 receiver units sitting up on top of that Touchmix bracket? For anyone reading this, those are the small white box things in the video. Antennas go in there.

Only thing you’re missing is a power conditioner to ensure clean power

Do you mind sharing the modem setup you are using with the mixer? The little USB that comes with the unit is not good…

Hi would you mind providing the specs for the right angle cables you used from Redco? thanks

Hi ... This is Redco cable building page. My cables utilized the MIC2.K console cable. And then male right angle ends on one side and straight females on the other side. You can build it out on the page, but I'd recommend touching base with them to ensure you get exactly what you need for your project.

That is not how they make snakes . The Cable comes with 8 to 56 Channels in it . One end will go to the Snake Box that sits on the stage . The other end is made into the FAN with goes to the board . (I build snakes) they will put lots of shrink tubing on each channel of the snake to make the fan . If they did it the way you are talking about they would have to have a Big box to do all of the connections in . I will share a video of one being made . Also WHY would you want the Connectors at the Front and in the way ? When building Amp racks I will put all of the Connectors on the Front so we can set them side by side and see everything . For the record I have been doing Live sound since 1967 .

Thanks for checking out the video.
What type of cable are you using for snakes? I'm not following what you are describing, as I only stated that the cable I used for this rack is similar to the thin cable used in snakes -- and not the standard, XLR cable that we'd use with a microphone.
And the placement of the panel is just what works for me in my set-up as a DJ. Obviously all of the connections on the TM are in the back, and I wanted to bring them to the front.
