I can relate to having to many gadgets xD. I got the Mi smart standing fan 2 pro recently and can't wait to use it this summer. The only major difference seems to be that one can adjust the hight height of the 2 Pro.

Thank you for the review, very helpful! One question I can't get the answer to anywhere: can it be used while charging? As in: if I run out of battery and connect it, can I use it immediately? Thank you and keep up the good work! :)

Nice review , appreciate you efforts , how much the battery working time if I but it in speed 2 .
And also what is the price

it's both the speed and if the fan is rotating that decides battery hours - but at speed 2 you can easily get 4-5 hours

@@TooManyGadgetsis there any indication how may battery cycles (lifespan) expected. It says lithium battery, but any system will lose power and voltage over time.

I noticed the message "device is unresponsive" when using Alexa. I've had the same issue with my Mi Lamp. Did you manage to fix that? Thanks

what I'm struggling to understand is how this fans compare to standard fans, because I see they have way lower power usage than their more traditional counterpart, and while xiaomi tells how much is the air flow at 14 meters, other companies don't provide that info and so I have no way to know before hand how this will perform

true - it is still just a fan. But a good one with low noise and battery which for me is the must have

@@TooManyGadgets yeah without a doubt the battery is a really nice feature, and for some can be alone the reason to buy it. My point was to understand how it compares to a traditional one about the air it can move as I am not finding anywhere that info.

@@CoroshiaI recently bought a Meaco standing fan, also a DC 24w brushless fan (no battery) - and it’s blows easily 3 times as hard as my standard fan, and 5 times harder than my standard ceiling fans.
For this reason, I bought this Mi one with internal battery power. I expect it has same power and CFM air flow.

Does it consumes electricity when it is plugged while it is full battery? Should I remove it to dock so that it does not consume battery or it's automatic?

    • @TooManyGadgets

it will use some battery yes as it connected to your wifi and check for commands via the app

How does one switch it off completely when not in use during winter?

Thanks, seems like a cool gadget (pun not intended) but I don't care for being locked into an app that calls home to China every time I use it. Also, you biring the build quality into the limelight with the not so robust base-to-neck arrangement. As there is no grab handle at the top of the unit, it would be quite natural to pick up by the neck, so really this is bad design from the get-go. There is clearly more interest with data collection via the app than there is important design aspects and due to all mentioned, I won't bother buying this product and I was really considering it as well.

lmao.. yeah bro.. I tremble in fear knowing that the chinese will know that I turned on my fan on at 4:15 at speed 2 and 90 degrees swivel and turned it off at 6:30. They ll probably use this to blackmail me...
