What happened to Jerusalem in AD 70 will be repeated again, but God in His mercy towards us erring children has not permitted the 4 winds of strife to be let loose yet because we, as Lot, have a lingering spirit. But not too long from now, He will begin to let loose the winds of strife and then it will be too late for any to learn how to live off the land and prepare, especially too late to prepare our characters. In fact, I mentioned it being one of my favourite places to be. 🙏 I agree the cities are crowded with all kinds of sin. However, there are cases of crime and sin in the country side, especially here in South Africa. Farmers are often attacked in the country. I was just trying to be objective in my thinking. Lets look at the situation of those you mentioned living in the city correctly: you mentioned David....Israel was a godly nation at that so there's no issue there to begin with, especially during the reign of David. they weren't in apostacy then. Joseph was educated as a child before being sold into slavery by his brothers he had the right foundation spiritually within him and God was with him. The same can be said for Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah after the prophecy of Isiah about Babylon coming to take them captive the parents of those boys trained them well so they were educated spiritually to face what was to come in the future and it can be seen that they were trained properly. You mentioned Nehemiah also what we must understand more clearly is that Sis White's council about country living is more focus on the proper development of our mental capacity to understand spiritual things. The grave issue today is many of us are developed intellectually and there's literally a lacking of the spiritual connection that we need with heaven. Everyone that you mentioned in the city were trained spiritually to face and fight the spiritual warfare and give God the glory. It's a 1000 times harder today to raise a family in the cities of today (whether Christian or not) compare to back then so we need to keep that in mind. God bless

Many members struggle to keep up with the demands of the city, and also sometimes neglect their spirituality and that of their kids. I agree that its important to have the right foundation in God. Its even harder to gain that foundation in the cities. So yeah the ideal situation would be to be in the country. Thats one of the benefits of gaining a clearer understanding of the Scriptures and being away from the interferences of the cities. Because if the children are in this situation, it simply means that they're issue too with the parents. They're many who believe in the truths for this time (present truth), but our attitudes, our behaviour, how we response to things said that we don't agree shows that something isn't right with us! Many of us myself included have not been educated spiritually to fight this great warfare we're in. ( Said the angel, "Deny self; ye must step fast." Some of us have had time to get the truth and to advance step by step, and every step we have taken has given us strength to take the next. But now time is almost finished, and what we have been years learning, they will have to learn in a few months. They will also have much to unlearn and much to learn again. One reason for this, i believe is that when members leave cities for the country, the risk of no tithe returning to conference increases significantly.. by extension, Pastor job security becomes a problem...

If leaving the cities is a message from God then I treat it the same way as the message to Noah to build and to enter into the Ark. Hi Patrick. Yes she says that in the book "Country living" page 29 (Chapter 8). She encourages country living due to the issues in the city. She also does say that Churches are to be established in the cities but not institutions. The country living is for the benefit of avoiding the vices of city living, but she also doesn't want the city people to be neglected - she would encourage us to work the cities from the country side. There's no doubt that her message is for country living. Like I mentioned, it would be ideal, although a lot of people struggle with the transition. Also, some places in the world may not have cities, but are the bedrock of terrible vices such as drug and alcohol abuse. So contextualization is important.
