You probably don't hear a lot about Mazatlán because it is on the Do Not Travel To advisory by the State Dept. Granted, I'll be taking your exact same trip on March 2nd. So I'm not too worried. lol
Thanks guys, I enjoyed this video and I discovered that Mazatlan is not just sea and beach, it also has amazing places like its beautiful historic center and its old cathedral, those things fascinate me.
Mazaltan is one of my favorite beaches to go to in Mexico. I love the mixture of tourist and regional beauty culture. As some who speaks Spanish this is a high recommendation especially in the Winter time. It's a bit too busy in the summer time. Also Mazaltan is known for their international port. Huge for the seafood industry.
I have been into the Basilica before…. As I have Family in Mazatlán and in Cabo too, when my family comes to the states to visit from Mazatlan or Cabo they also comment on the weather.. the last time my cousin was here from Mazatlan while everybody around us was wearing their sweaters and jackets she said that We were nuts because We were cold, lol
You are so blessed to have this perfect day 4!! When I was there in February last year there was the "biggest carnival" in all of Mexico going on. It actually took us 2 hrs to get from the ship to old town. So many streets were closed for the parade & thousands of people crowded everywhere. At the Basilica they were lined up for hours to go have the ash put on their foreheads. We went to see the cliff divers but couldn't stay but 1/2 hour due to the traffic. I really didn't get a chance to buy anything or do anything much. I can't wait to get back on the Discovery in mid-March for my 75th birthday! I cruised her in July 2022 one of the first cruises out of Seattle to the Alaska ports. I had a great trip doing things that my husband & I didn't do the first time on our trip to Alaska in 2018. I don't think they had the sushi up there so looking forward to it on the California coast trip. Your foods have looked amazing. Thank you always for sharing. I look forward to your tours tomorrow - hope you go to the same tasting spot that I did!
Traveling on Discovery coming up, doing the 7 day Mexican cruise as well. I really appreciated these videos. It was nice seeing the day to day, the storage space in the rooms, the different areas of the ships etc. I really appreciate both of your energies, ya'll are the cutest!

We took a Mexican riviera cruise years ago and Mazatlan was on our agenda but had to be cancelled because of drug gang violence. We did 2 days in Puerta Vallarta instead and one in Cabo. I’m sad we didn’t get to stop there.

Hi! Which area was that? The outside hidden deck area? Go to deck 7, all the way at the back of the ship and there is a small deck on each side. One side is smoking and one is nonsmoking. We spent so much time on the no smoking side! Great little hidden gem that was so quiet almost all of our cruise

That's one of our favorite things as well! We try and make it a point to see the in every city we can.

It seemed safe to us, but as with anywhere, it's important to be aware and be as safe as possible.
Looked up how much 20 pesos is. Only $1.17 for a tour of that theater!
How much was the cart back and was it per person or for the two of you
I think the cart back was about $10 american. We absolutely could have haggled down, but we felt it was a fair price.
