I'm glad too see you again abd that big smile and I see you grew up to big trucks now yeap you need big tools and stuff now .love the show keep on going 🎉🎉🎉
Jason is a Boss just takes it and keeps on moving foward thats a real man.I think ya'll work great together Natalie you are such a good team player calling on parts and just doing what he ask for . I also like that you acknowledge God's blessing you both . Think of the danger you missed pulling this heavy load with bad brakes. There's a reason rates are so good going to Alaska what's a few days in the big picture . When you guys finally get to your fishing hole sit back with your beers and look back on your journey.
I bought a electric (cord)impact from harbor freight that was big enough to take big truck wheels off but don’t put lugs back on it’s so strong it breaks them putting them on so I used a battery impact to put on finish with torque rachet (clicker) this was a good awesome video of y’all handling things. Great smile beautiful
The joy of new to you. Been doing it for years to keep Cat engines (I can not go to California, but it is no big loss, and I haul 105,500, and only 5 states allow it). Of course, I am a big boy, like 650 HP got to save on fuel somehow rather turn it up more. Thank the good lord, Cat started producing blocks again. Have fun on the trip, I have done it before
Its not just a job, its an ADVENTURE lol. One truck tire tip from a 35 year mechanic: It is much easier IMO to turn around, put your hands behind your butt, back up to the tire, hook your fingers into the rim and lift the tire that way while you have your heels against the bottom edge of the tire to keep it from swinging out. Try it, it works great if the tire isnt too heavy, will save your knees and back..
Those big truck lug nuts are on there 450-500 ft lbs. They buzz them off with a 3/4" inch impact and use a huge torque wrench that's like 4 feet long to put them back on if you watch them do it at a TA. Needless to say that one's a little tougher for a DIYer compared to working on a 1-ton. Just getting a 22.5" wheel and tire back on the hub takes practice...you aint just going to muscle that back up on there like a 16 or 17" dually wheel.
Very good points Brandon! Yes I was telling Jason need to buy the biggest torque wrench they got em at harbor for like $200 He said those tires hadn't been pulled in several years so that didn't help our problem I'm sure
Maintenance has to be done. The only alternative thing to do was to completely go over every aspect of the truck when purchased. Its the only way to be sure. Could this situation have been avoided? Sure, but then there are priorities.
I had a brake rotor do that. Ended up being a collapsed brake line not releasing the pressure properly when brake pedal was released. It's usually the rubber hose going from the metal brake line to the caliper--IF it is a hydraulic brake system. That's why only one side is worn so bad.
Oversize i did my fair share b from full size 110,000 lbs to 100 ft long plus bridge beams to me it was not worth it yes it pays good per mile but 90 % of oversize is done during the summer and dealing with road construction and waitning for daylight i could make more running regular flatbed freight some guys like it because you sit around more than driving i bought used 07 truck. And used stepdeck cost me 87,000 which was a ton money in 2008 during the last crash and fueling up tanks and burning 1500 to 1700 in fuel a week but i managed to pay that 87000.00 off in 17 months. I guess to my point run the miles and not do oversize do to the headachs. Be safe be well
I appreciate your honesty and point of view. I agree. I'll take them if it makes sense, but I'm not scratching other carriers eyes out to fight over them
I do not think I have ever seen a brake disc fail in this way. That ram looked pretty good to say it was ment to be a non runner. Which is good as running trucks are easier to load. It was cool you found a helpful guy with a service truck to get the wheels off. Hopefully, there will be no more issues for the rest of the run.
@HotshotAdventures it's not the fastest. But it's cheap, and lightweight when compared to a 10000 foot pound air impact. Plus hopefully he won't need it often.
What's the point in doing it? This is probably going be a week or two of time investment? All things consider, I think I would have just informed my customer that I'm just not prepared to do such a long run.
Just stayed in the states and get your repairs done on your vehicle. If you didn't want to risk disappointing or losing a customer. Could have offer to pass it off to your buddy
I think it is time. You got to take action. Can't really just wait for it to fall into your lap. It would have been really beneficial if you had a significant other that was also your business partner.
I'm glad too see you again abd that big smile and I see you grew up to big trucks now yeap you need big tools and stuff now .love the show keep on going 🎉🎉🎉
Somewhat upgraded :)
Glad you stopped by thanks for watching
This is all part of OTR hauling. I'm just glad yall were able to get it fixed and back on the road safely.
Amen
Glad you all got every thing back together and going. 👍Be safe out there
Thanks 👍
Should he tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern to keep the tires straight up and down?

Thanks flyboy ! Wow that's a lot of weight where do you run ?
RIGHT ON 2U MI AMIGA, ALWAYS PROUD OF U HAV A GR8 DAY AND ENJOY THE CRUZ.
I'm getting tired OG
That kind of deflates the incentive of doing these sort of long hauls.
Long haul doesn't mean better money in all cases. This is a good point
Hope you doing well nice to see you in my city of Seattle lol
I like your truck ! Thanks for watching
@@HotshotAdventures Would you ever wanna drive a semi with step deck
Be safe and be Great with all you do
😁
I like that truck, shit happens. I'd prefer a little older rig on the Alcan anyway.
Amen
No hard time, when you mentioned brakes I had a feeling where this might go. I've pulled axels and hubs many times. (at home in the driveway)
Amen

Thanks for the tip! I'm not sure I'd want to do it that way...that would be a sight ! Lmao
Better to be safe then sorry!!!!! good job
😁💛

The rotors only wore out on one side. Are the calipers stuck?
No thank goodness

Absolutely
Good job guys
🤩
I use air tools on my Diamond C gooseneck. My compressor and its tanks do the job.
The compressor on your air ride trailer keeps up with your air tools?
@@HotshotAdventures I can't use them continuously but I can take a tire off of my truck.
The good thing is now you have brakes and you’re safe on the road.
Amen melvin
Man, the lighting out there in the PNW is just different...
$17,800 is awesome but what's your fuel bill gonna be?
I'm going to have to add it up
But even with mountains and grades, the trucks getting 8 mpg
prius repellent hahahahaha get you a milwaukee 1 inch battery impact they a workhorse
Priest repellent
Bought everyone on the team those hehehe

Good point
Which company do you use for permits? Can you provide their number if u don't mind.
Look up Norcal permits dear
I use permit wizard. Very easy to order and get them

You like that M2 compared to your Ford, Natalie?
When Jason bought it he said I would want one... I like it. It's cool. But I'm good with my trucks
It's always Amazon's fault
Thank you Michael! Glad we're on the same page 😆😂

Ya I think it was brand new saskue... I dunno what the broker was talking about , saying it was inop
Thabks for watching
@HotshotAdventures Well at least you were prepared for if it was not running. 🙂
those lug nuts torque to 450 - 500 foot pounds thats why those chrome tools broke,
It would be beneficial to have a co-driver who is also your significant other. That way all the money from loads you do. Will stay under one roof.
You need this :XtremepowerUS 8pcs Torque Wrench Labor Saving Lug Nut Wrench Torque Multiplier Cr-v Socket for Semi Truck & RVs
I'll look it up
I love oversized loads. That is how you get to the money. That is why I bought a 40k gooseneck.
Very good
😊
They make a product called "nut buddy". It's a torque multiplier. You can hand crank the nuts off.
You are awesome !! Thanks I ordered one for him
@HotshotAdventures it's not the fastest. But it's cheap, and lightweight when compared to a 10000 foot pound air impact. Plus hopefully he won't need it often.
Yes I love the idea
Elbow grease and slow but way cheaper than the comparable tools
Thanks again for sharing
It's good that you got a partner to help you on this run, but your going have to give him a significant amount of whatever y'all gross.
Absolutely
He's driving and it's his truck and his fuel bill
Hell take the majority

Just don't see the benefit to you in this situation. Unless, you just wanted to enjoy the rare experience of traveling thru a different country.
You should consider getting married or at least a boyfriend. Someone you can train to work alongside you.
The good lord knows what's in my heart. Guess he's telling me not time yet
