Lyrics are a must!!!! Zack’s got mad knowledge to drop. The music is rock but Zack is a top level MC, his rhymes are so clean, no filler, every bar is relevant. All their songs are political.
Mad knowledge to drop? lol Dude is a raging Marxist Edit: Small correction; dude is a raging capitalist disguised as a Marxist to get that money from the Marxist simps.
You should always get the lyric videos with “Rage against the Machine.” There lyrics are always deep and can be lost in the video. For example “Bulls on Parade” is about people making money off of war, and the military complex.
Rage often played with Public Enemy back in the day. On April 12, 2016, CNN broadcast a story with the headline "Trump Rages Against the GOP Machine." Tom Morello guitarist and founding member of Rage said in a Channel 4 interview, "We said, "you may not have that territory that belongs to us." This influenced him to form a supergroup with Rage Against the Machine members Brad Wilk and Tim Commerford, Public Enemy's Chuck D and DJ Lord, and Cypress Hill's B-Real to form the supergroup Prophets of Rage less than two months later. They formed the band to "confront the injustices and be the soundtrack of resistance." (from Wiki) They never disappoint and just make you want to rage against the machine right along with them.
At this moment in time and again when necessary again when we don’t learn from our actions as a people please listen to WAKE UP!!!!!!!’ By rage against the machine
PROPHetS of Rage -Supergroup. Formed in 2016, the group consisted of three members of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave (bassist and backing vocalist Tim Commerford, guitarist Tom Morello, and drummer Brad Wilk), two members of Public Enemy (DJ Lord and rapper Chuck D), and rapper B-Real of Cypress Hill.[4][5] The band disbanded in 2019, following the reuniting of Rage Against the Machine. During its three-year existence, Prophets of Rage released one EP and one full-length studio album
That's funny that you say they're like Public Enemy. Check out Prophets Of Rage. Thats the guitarist Tom from here, and Heavy D, and Chuck D. Think you will enjoy them as well.
I’m a 48 year old Metal fan, and I finally got my RATM tattoo last month (part of a sleeve of bands). I’ll recommend something a half step to the side…Cochise by Audioslave
There has NEVER been a more appropriately named band than Rage Against The Machine!!! I've been listening to them all these years and every time I hear them t want to break something!!!!!!!
The rock version of Public Enemy is 100% what they are. At least in my eyes, but I'd say most would agree. Very highly intelligent and dissecting their lyrics and reading the history they reference is part of why i have the politics i do. Both groups contributed to that when i was growing up. Personally, i like the songs "Freedom", "Township Rebellion", "Down Rodeo" a lot, but they honestly have no bad songs that i can think of.
Deep dive into them and check out Freedom, Know Your Enemy, Down Rodeo, and Take the Power Back, just to name a few. Zack spits truth in bars after bars.
I just happened to find your channel 😊.. Ok guys, lyrics are always a must with rage as they usually have deep meanings.. The 5 sided Fistagon is the government, the Pentagon and the military industrial complex.. This track is mostly about how the government talks about Moral Family Values while taking from society Social programs to feed their military budget.. They "really round the family"while constantly keeping us down... "They don't gotta burn the books, they just remove em" Rage is fire and Zack spits mad truth
Wow, I’ve never seen (US ) black people react to rock songs before! This is amazing. I want to see South East Asian people reacting to jazz songs, and Muslims from North East England reacting to synth wave…or Nigerian people reacting to post-punk…or Bolivian people reacting to Icelandic folk! there are endless options, but people just keep on doing the same thing omg
I had the luck of seeing Rage during this (Evil Empire) tour in St. Louis. Hands down the most frenetic energy of any concert I've ever seen in my ENTIRE life. Absolutely incredibly electric. My only gripe is that Wu Tang was supposed to open for them; and didn't show. ( Supposedly because of some crazy shit ODB pulled just before the show.) Being a huge Wu Tang fan from the beginning; that was highly disappointing to say the least. But Rage was PHENOMENAL!
I sing kareoke from time to time. I love to sing Rage against, and I belive theyd probably hate being on kareoke ;) But guys, I love the message, and I try to relay it in the way I can :)
couple suggestions Man in the box by Alice in Chains Sultans of swing by Dire straits heading south by Zack Bryan a little bit of everything in there, but definitely 3 bangers. definitely listen with lyrics too
It's really slow funk, with distortion, and an oldschool hip hop point guy. "Rock" is really a minor detail in what this is. Even the guitar solo is... scratch 🤣 Well spotted, Public Enemy obvious influence. And, also, yeah, it shows that aspect of hip-hop that was essentially "black folk's kind of punk music".
Even if the musical style isn't your cup of tea, definitely just read through all of Zack de la Rocha's lyrics. This song is about the military industrial complex and it's role in exploiting the people. I wholeheartedly recommend Killing in the Name, which was inspired by the Rodney King beating and the discovery that the cop that was the primary aggressor had ties to the KKK Also Take the Power Back, which is about the use of the American Public Education system to manipulate and suppress the working class
Rage made amazing music, but their message was far more important, and a lot of people like rage and have no idea what they were about. Not to throw shade, but this is what the voice of a generation sounds like, and what actual musicians sound like. People like Kanye are talentless trash compared to bands like this.
After you guys check out a few more from them (with lyrics 🫶🏻) you should check out the two songs Zach (singer) has with Run the Jewels. “Close Your Eyes and Count to Fuck” and “JU$T”. The second one has Pharrell on it too. And I agree with that other person, Rage is my spirit animal. I was a teenager when they came out and they pretty heavily influenced how I started to look at the world and social issues. I follow Tom Morello (guitar player) and he’s still out here talking the same way about the same things. Same with Zach. Hope you guys check out more! I subbed 😊
Rage Against Machine "Down Rodeo"
That song is one sic bar after another.
Love that song
Take the power back, Bombtrack, Know your Enemy, Renegades of Funk
Lyrics are a must!!!! Zack’s got mad knowledge to drop. The music is rock but Zack is a top level MC, his rhymes are so clean, no filler, every bar is relevant. All their songs are political.
His cadence is totally of the charts.
Mad knowledge to drop? lol Dude is a raging Marxist

'what else should you listen to?' YES!
You should always get the lyric videos with “Rage against the Machine.” There lyrics are always deep and can be lost in the video. For example “Bulls on Parade” is about people making money off of war, and the military complex.
... being the same people who always shout "family values!" about anything they don't like.
Harvard educated. Listen and learn ❤ They shut Wall Street down once playing live. Good video.

I saw them open for Suicidal Tendencies in the early nineties and had no idea who they were...I left thinking they were Public Enemy with guitars
Deep dive into them and check out Freedom, Know Your Enemy, Down Rodeo, and Take the Power Back, just to name a few. Zack spits truth in bars after bars.

Well said guys.

Ahhh, mate... you both missed a genuine moment to not be exclusively black.
rage against nothing....bunch of sell-out hypocrites who did not stand up when it mattered but towed the party line
Pro Vax has zero connection to anti imperialism or anti racism. None of which are mutually exclusive or inclusive of the other 2
Dawg what are you talking about?
Which party, what line?
You a fool. Science and Medicine is not Political!
@@saltydog9340 so you gonna explain or just keep talking outta your ass?
