- Not the usual vlog format this week but I hope I can help over backpackers learn about what it is like to work on a solar farm.
My farm has now finished so I can’t help with any contacts or getting onto a farm! Sorry!
Everything from getting a job to how much you get paid!

Great vid, just wondering once set up are they then taken down again? Or are you only doing the original set up for the farm and then the work period comes to an end ?
Once they are set up and the build is finished that is the end of the work period

Hello! No you dont need a driving licence. There are loads of roles you can do without one. Also yes I did the full 88 days here.

Hello, no I didn’t have a forklift licence, you can do a posi or teli handler licence though which helps

Hello Matt, very good video👏🏻👏🏻. I am a solar panel installer in Spain, and I am coming to Autralia on September with my friend. Do you think it's easy or difficult to find a job on Solar Farms?? Both we are electricians, I am a solar panel technicien and he does maintenance.

Can you talk a bit about your filming equipment? I wish to do something similar, travel and vlogging, but wish to know a bit more about what to bring if I want to make videos. Not only what camera for example, but also laptop or tablet for editing, Steadicam etc...

Where do I start haha so I use my phone and a GoPro for all the filming, plus an external microphone when I’m doing talking sections
For the editing I use Final Cut Pro on my laptop just because I started on iMovie and that was the logical step for me!

Hi mate, loving the videos. Great to get a good quality insight into regional work, especially solar farms. Trying to find solar work the past few months and nothing has come up. When you were looking for your did you just search the usual sites like seek?

Hey Matt, thanks for the info. Do your days off still count towards the 88 days? Also, do you receive anything from the company that you can show as proof to the Australian government that you completed the 88 days? Thank you!
Days off count if you're pulling in 35 hours a week, working 5 days on those hours counts for a full 7 days. Also your payslips are your proof.

Hi Mark where is the solar farm you work located? Which areas should I look for? I’m starting my 88 days in July is it a good period even if winter ? You usually work 88 days straight or the job is discontinue meaning I’ll have to stay more!? Thank you 🙏
