Brilliant, this is exactly what we needed!
Should be titled: "How to fix a roller blind chain that has come off its track", since this doesn't deal with a broken chain.

When you put the chain back on, don't you have to keep in mind where that connector link is in the chain so it does not hit the top before the blind is all the way down?

Chain fix for RollerBlind. In case you are here to reattach the chain for a Louvolite Shade System 40 clutch R3025, this is what you do
Remove blind - steps to do this:
    - roll up blind (if you can with a little force, but not essential), push chain end in a direction it will move a little, usually up, push toward other end., it should nonkw be detachable from chain end)
Once removed, roll up blind if not already
Pull out mechanism on chain end - the whole chain enclosure mechanism should slide out - use a flathead screwdriver to ease out if necessary.
Remove the plastic pin from point at the end, prise out with a small Phillips screwdriver in the hole if can't do manually
Replace the chain - if it has a joiner the make sure it is placed close the mechanism on the side where the chain is chain is will drop down.
    Reverse process to refit.

My blind didn't have a screw - in which case you can remove the control mechanism just by pulling it hard from the blind, it might be quite stiff - but it worked for me.

Just make sure the chain connector clip (connecting the two ends of the chain to make the chain loop) doesn't foul the mechanism when the blind is pulled up/down. Get that aligned at the top of a rolled up blind before reinstalling on the window so that the clip goes down when the blind is also pulled down.

  • @sen1981dhil

Hey i had the same problem, so i figured out that there should be some way the chain should have come out in the first place.
So once i removed the blind all i did was to open up the plastic covering with the help of a screw driver and create enough opening to put the chain back.
The plastic is strong enough for you to open up just exactly to the size of the bearings.

Needed to get it sussed before my housemate gets back and now I don't have to worry about a chewing out from her because of a complete accident. Honestly, some people are arseholes concerning the smallest little problems that easily be fixed. Thanks for saving my bacon. ;)

But thanks to my new, improved "virtual boyfriend", who is also pretty hot looking, I fixed it without my useless ex's input. Can somebody remind me why I need "reality" men around the house, now I have "virtual men" on TH-cam? Thanks, blinds bloke, you're a natural. Maybe just adjust the lighting if you do any more vids.
