    It's interesting how differently both phones take shoots and video.
    S23U takes little bit oversatured photos with main sensor, but zoom and videos have more natural look. In opposite, P7P takes natural looking photos, but more saturated videos.

    Really appreciate the long audio comparisons; the Pixel has significantly more audio pickup but the mid frequencies are to dominant and sometimes the audio recording has distortion at higher decibels. The Pixel noise reduction/voice enhancement is effective, albeit with digital artifacts in the voice.

    Great comparison as always. You should include photos of moving subjects like kids running or dogs playing as well. The Pixel does quite a bit better with shutter speed. I take some awesome photos of my dogs running around with my 7 Pro. I can't get those same shots with my S23 Ultra even in pro mode or with any third party apps but for everything else the cameras are close.

      On the S23 Ultra, even in pro mode, you cannot set the shutter speed to something fast like 100/200ms? I am asking because it would be a deal breaker for me, having 2 young kids.

      @@Vilmir in pro mode you can, but you lose HDR (at least on the S21 Ultra it's like this.) You also have the Expert RAW app which has amazing processing and full manual settings, but you can only take two pictures and then have to wait until they get processed so you can take more.

    @BasMeijer ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Well done video, thank you. Not too happy about the zoom comparisons, they are unfair to the pixel, concentrating too much on 3x and 10x. The Pixel shines compared to other flagships from 5x up to 10x. The superiority of the Pixel will get more and more the closer you get to 10x, but you do not include any pictures in that range. Detail is a little better on S23U from 10x up, but I still don't like the oversharpening (although it seems better than the S22U).

    @kennethho6001 ปีที่แล้ว +24

    I really appreciate your camera comparison reviews Grant! They are so detailed and you really go out of your way to try different lighting scenarios.
    The Pixel 7 Pro came out with better looking pictures overall, but struggled in zoom compared the 200MP sensor on the S23B Ultra in terms of detail. It's amazing what a 200MP sensor can do alongside a 10X optical lens in terms of detail as extreme zoom ranges. I would still prefer the images from the Pixel 7 Pro though.

      Hey, I testes as own the S22 Ultra. It's miles ahead to S23 ultra as as result of optimization. This is subjected to the 12 MP shooter. In fact all the cameras were better. The S23 ultra surpassed in selfie department but that too not by much. Would suggest you to visit a nearest Samsung showroom and you will be surprised. Great video, ty. I own both and I really struggle to accept S23U photos over the P7P. The pixel also is on point, accurate, most detailed especially in low light/night photos. Day time photos there are close. Like I said, I own both and ATT giving me 1k to trade in my pixel for the s23U, but the photo proweless and better feel in the hands keeps me second guessing the trade in.

    Great review,both phones are great, but when I went to trade in my Galaxy s22 plus, I thought about the trade in value to both phones (Ultra vs P7P) and could not justify the extra money.Have owned both Samsung and Google phones before, so I bought the P7P, I myself have had no problems with overheating, battery life is better than my S22 plus,when the p7p goes to 5 g ther are no problems wher as my s22 plus would not load so I had to turn 5g offit has been very fast doing whatever I want, to me pics and vids are on point, for the price difference I am very happy,also, as I use the AI and it has worked better on this phone than any I have had .

    Perfect comparison as always! When it comes to photos, I have to say the zoom of the Pixel is very disappointing, I mean they use a 48 mp sensor with 5x optical and it doesn't stand a chance against the 10x optical of the Samsung which is insofar surprising as Vivo can hold up with Samsung at 10x zoom with it's 3.5x optical zoom lens. In low light the Pixel 7 Pro pictures without night mode are extremely dark, I would say too dark and very noisy. Again we could see that the 200mp sensor even if you shoot in full resolution doesn't really bring more details even in perfect lighting. I mean there were only slightly more details than the 12mp mp photo of the Pixel had. Front camera performance in low light is very similar but the S23 U slightly better. In video performance the Pixel is very good, very close to Samsung, which has the best video performance at the moment. Stabilization of both was excellent. But the cinematic mode on the Pixel is absolutely horrible

It's new S23 Ultra, out of the box on early software, can already trade blows with the brilliant Pixel 7 Pro photo wise (which gives the IPhone 14 Pro Max a bloody nose in photography) and comfortably beat it video wise. Why oh why hasn't Samsung always produced one phone with one chip for all countries?. Only now can it really show what it is capable of.

    Pixel takes the best photos in general in 90% cases. Videography is questionable. I've seen P7P stuttering in 4k30fps. And low light 4k60fps is certainly not the best in p7p. Cinematic mode in p7p is just bad.

      The thing is it already has ultra level hardware. The Main sensor on both are 1/1.3 inches large the Pixel has sensor crop at 2 and 10x and the 10x images are insane for a sensor crop (I have a P7P) and the ultrawide is honestly not bad at all, Video lacks processing (noise reduction, texture preservation) but that's just due to the ISP in the Tensor not being as good as , The SD 8 Gen 1/1+/2. The Pixel has 5 perfectly usable zoom levels at the back. .5X 1X 2X 5x and 10x (All of the zooms have optical or near optical quality)

    My biggest issues with the pixel 7 Pro are The atrocious mics. I noticed that within the first 2mins of owning the phone. Watching videos or even recording content is kinda a drag on this device. The " adaptable" battery is a joke and the phone overheats extremely fast. What I found jarring was the inability to control two different audio volumes at the same time. My old LG v60 (glad I kept it) spoiled me in this regard and many others. I only use the P7p to take pics of my family other than that, my v60 is still my daily driver.

    • @shakyawijemunilol

      My P7P gives me 7 n a half hours of battery life (100-5%) the adaptive battery is no joke. It just takes a week or two to kick in. U should use the phone normally for two or three weeks (basically as a daily driver) and thereafter u will get amazing battery life. Trust me I went from having to charge my phone twice a day (back when I first got it) to not worry about the battery at all

    I watched a lot of other camera comparison from others and very different from yours. On yours I like the pixel still cameras better. It has a darker feel. Alot of the fine details and ridges stand out more. S23 ultra tend to make the colors brighter....Something I don't like. With videos I always thought the video on the pixel is very good, despite people hating on it. But Samsung is better. Funny the video on the pixel is the opposite to their pictures. It is noticeably brighter than Samsung. On the selfie, Samsung is better than the pixel. Looks more natural with details. But on other videos I saw, the pixel selfies was better. It is weird. The zoom on the pixel is actually better than Samsung up till a certain distance.

    Potrait mode is as bad as a 100$ phone.
    Heating issues.
    For me battery is a pain.
    No pro controls. Biggest downlet
    Also you can not turn off HDR.
    It's like Android from apple, you cannot customize your choices .
