If you ever black out your f250 fender emblems. Please let me know if your willing to sell them. My passenger one is gone? Im in San Antonio. Thanks Rik
I bought paint matched handles and Mirror caps for my Charcoal Metallic 15 Tundra Platinum and they cost at least $300.00, if not more. I sold the chrome ones on Craigslist to ease the pain, but the new ones really looked nice.
I was able to chrome delete the handle covers and mirror caps. Use the Avery Brand Vinyl Wrap - a lot more forgiving for handles - but you can overstretch it. 3M was too stiff to work with. Handles and mirrors were done in place without removal. CK Wraps on TH-cam have some really good techniques.
In a world of practical sense a person would pay much less for a vehicle without Crome. Today’s Blackout option is a gimmick that is overpriced. Isn’t it comical that a person hunts for cheap tools but pays a premium for things that should be, and used to be standard equipment on a vehicle.
I have had a ton of luck finding things like this on forums. I would look at Ford-Trucks forum, I feel like I remember seeing a post about this on there.
I'm currently doing a chrome delete on my 2016 F150 and I purchased covers that stick on to the door handles and mirror caps. You can't really tell they are caps until you get right on them and are actually paying attention. This was a cheap Amazon option I chose, but honestly think I will just scuff and paint. They are plastic parts and cheap to replace if you mess up. It's the bumpers I am trying to make a decision on between vinyl and paint.
I always look forward to the truck videos , just about break my thumb trying to click on them 😂 keep up the vlogs . I can’t wait till the truck related shirts are available?
Heating the wrap more might help soften it so it will stretch and not wrinkle. If you apply the wrap on a wet surface you can push out the bubbles and water like putting on tint. Another trick is to use a small needle to make a very small hole to let the air out if your still wanting to try that route.
It’s a local magazine that’s about the city. Called Arlington Today I think, we will be mentioned in an article about millennials living in the downtown part of our city.
I'm about an hour north of DFW and I'm taking the gloss black covers from my door handles and tailgate handles they go over the chrome, will need new double sided tape but you can have them if you want.
Awesome video! Wrapping can definitely be tricky. You'd be surprised how much easier Avery is to use than 3M, especially when wrapping curves. Heating is also tricky. Heat can hurt you as much as help. If you apply too much heat, the wrap will stretch too much and won't work right. You also might be using too small of a piece to wrap the handles with. It's hard to tell for sure in the video but if you use a bigger piece to start with, it's a lot easier to stretch the wrap around curves. It can definitely be frustrating lol. I ripped up some pieces when I was wrapping the mirrors on my Mustang but was finally able to get it on smooth. But yea, if you want to try it again, try. Avery Denison wrap and a bigger piece. I think you'll see it's easier to work with than the 3M. And only use heat when you absolutely need it. Sorry for the long comment lol.
Thanks for the insight Mike. I think I am going to go the painted route so it is a bit more permanent. I also want to see about getting the side badges that say F250 done as well as the Ford Ovals up front
Yes that is the current plan. I like having the warranty for the truck and I feel I have enough mods to do in the mean time to make the truck unique without killing the warranty.
The cloth seats (and other downgrades) are the reason nobody wants the XL. Would you really give up leather seats and other upgrades just so you can get black door handles and mirror caps?
@@nikostathopoulos4371 Oh, well, all XL and XLTs have cloth seats, but what I didn't realize is his truck is a XLT. Still, he probably didn't buy the lower version because of the way Ford packages their trim levels. Seems impossible to get everything you want on a certain trim so there will always be sacrifices made because you want some options more than others.
Hey man just paint them yourself and use the money for other mods. Go to advanced auto or whichever store nearby that will give you a spray can that is color coded to the truck paint.
Because Ford doesn't offer the combination of features he wants in any trim level. Platinum is a lot more expensive but also comes with chrome handles/mirror caps. Only way to get black is to buy XL trim but then you lose leather and all sorts of other things. You have to buy the trim that is closest to what you want and then do what he is doing and change a few small things.

Rik.....My side emblems are for sale if you still need them.

How’d you delete chrome strip on widow?

I have a 2017 f350 2wd wanting to put some running board lights.. How can i find the wire for that.

Need a video showing chrome tow mirror cap removal and install.
I agree!
I replaced my mirror caps with paint to match ones, it’s difficult but you can do it

you can buy colored oem handle covers. You can also purchase OEM blacked out badges.

Thanks Wylie!!! I need to sell through the current shirts before I can get the truck ones made. In time my friend.

Vinyl is tricky for me as well, one day I will be good at it maybe lol. Truck is looking good my dude keep it up.
Thanks Colin! Vinyl is so tricky, I don't understand how someone could do an entire car... Crazy!
moostang09 I know I can't do a full car. And I forgot to ask what kind of magazine are you going to be in?

Aaron I would love to take them off your hands man! Shoot me an email s197moostang09@gmail.com and we can plan to meet up. 👊🏻
I like chrome 😎. I'm old school. But may want to have it painted. But the wrap is more durable.
I like the chrome accents too.
Did you ever take the door handles ?
Willing to buy them
So what did you end up doing? I don't see videos that showed the final outcome.
need to use soap and water solution, along with the heat gun to stretch
also need a plastic squeegee of course
What are the part numbers for PTM handles? 4$ you say? Thx
I couldn’t find them after I looked. There were just some eBay ones out there.... My bad man.

You don't need to cut the vinyl to get a full wrap around without wrinkles. You need some pre- stretch.
What about hydro dipping
I plan on blacking out my chrome on my 19 f250. Check out plasti dip. Walmart are Amazon has. Can spray all chrome. Very easy.
With all due respect, you have a pretty beautiful, special lady there. I wish my wife hung out and wrapped stuff with me. Nice truck, peace.
Thank you Donathan! She is awesome!!
Your wife gonna kill you if she sees that
Can’t you just buy black door handles?
To many ads!
It’s a FREE video! *Too
Do you still have the silver steering wheel trim off of the new steering wheel you got and didn't use.
I am installing that piece in my truck. Tired of the black surround.
Do the front ones come off the same way even with smart key? Thanks!
Looking good! Where did you get the tint done for the front windows? I have a silver 250 2017 TD. I'm in HEB area.
I got them done at a shop in Arlington, TX called Glacier Window Tint. They have been around for years and I take all of my cars there.
Sweet, I'll check them out. Thanks again!
Why not just buy an xl that comes with black handles?
Love a family that wraps together!
Thanks brother!
You can buy them on eBay for 51 bucks so you know! Love the videos I️ just picked up the exact same truck that you have yourself!
You got a link for them? The ones I saw on there were a lot more than that.

scuff and paint
why not just buy the black gloss handle covers 30 buck on ebay
Hey man, just subbed. Hell of a nice truck, I plan on buying an F250 in the future. Do you any plans to delete it after the warranty expires?
Yes that is the current plan. I like having the warranty for the truck and I feel I have enough mods to do in the mean time to make the truck unique without killing the warranty.
You could Plastidip it although it would be a matte finish.
I’m sure you look hard enough someone is way more than willing to trade
Lol if you wanted black then an XL model would have made it easier

Paint is the way to go.
Its already off, just get them painted, its maybe 50 bucks each handle
Hey I have a question, why didn’t you just buy a platinum or anything that comes with all the aftermarket parts that you’re putting in your truck?

sand em and paint em.

You have a very cute wife, good for you.
