- Welcome to day 105!!! Where I’m still trying to make friends with animals.. but no luck. Maybe saw two people all day. It rained but I turned each mile into a game and clocked how many miles I could do in each hour. Oh and I saw 52 newts! Counted to keep me sane. Enjoy!

My wife and I went hiking in Dolly Sods a few years ago. She was wearing her prescription sunglasses that day. After our hike, we got about five or so miles down the road before we realized that her glasses had fallen out of her pocket. We went back to the trail and retraced our steps, not having much hope of finding anything amidst the mud. Then, by God's Providence, I happen to be looking down at a puddle in the middle of the trail and saw something that definitely looked man-made. It was my wife's glasses!

Oh wow! You are right at the section that almost sent me back home to Oklahoma in 2020 and this video is posting at exactly the time of year I was there. I could tell you a lot of crazy stories about the next ten days from that point, but long story short, I gotta make up that section between Wind Gap and Deleware Water Gap. Good Times! 😆 By the way, I'm pretty sure that critter you thought was a cat was actually a fox.

Im in the woods of NE PA but newts, salamanders, are not as plentiful as they were years ago. Finding them was my favorite rainy day pastime as a kid. 🥰🥾🥾⛺️

The PCT hikers that did the AT b4 all say the AT is harder &more challenging so you’re probably doing better then u feel u are, 100+ days in the elements anywhere is no joke , safe travels ❤
