Bruno Hauptmann stands convicted of the crime that shocked the nation, the kidnapping and murder of the infant son of Colonel Charles Lindbergh. Three years after the tragedy occurred, crowds jam the streets outside the courthouse awaiting the outcome of the trial. After eleven hours the jury delivers its verdict: guilty of murder in the first degree, and the Bronx carpenter is immediately sentenced to die in the electric chair the week of March 18th.
