Here we have the KEY scene of this Korean Boys Love Series... then the "individual circumstances" this story is really about come to life all at once in the memory flash back shown here from 1:39: Sung Woo Jae abandoning his first love Ha Yeon Woo years before, out of the blue and without any traces... for being afraid of facing all the consequences of having fall in love with his best friend. Rings a bell....?? Yes... we just went tru this emotional chaos with "To my Star: Season 2". But this time is different as the guys were not a couple yet. Such a premise for a story is known generally in Boys Love stories... like the Thai BL Series "I Told Sunset About You"... or "The Year Book"... but this time the reason seems to be of SOCIAL PRESSURE. I say "seems to be", since at this point we don't have the answers, and I am just using a hint from Episode 2, where it shows to be obvious to the university colleges of our leads here that they were more than just best friends: - Could it be that Sung Woo Jae couldn't stand the gossiping about their close relationship in the university and decided to leave completely and start all over again on his own....? - Or was it more that Sung Woo Jae was afraid of Ha Yeon Woo not loving him back and preferred to leave and that way bury deep inside his heart all those feelings, avoiding to have a rejection from him...? - OR the real reasons was that because Yeon Woo was already well known in the university in the film department and was to have a promising future as film director Woo Jae left him... not wanting to become an obstacle in his future....? There are a lot of variables as for which one could be Woo Jae's reason for leaving. I am sure we will get eventually to finding out the truth... as THAT is the KEY of this story and from it depends both the reconstruction of the past... and the building of their future together again. I can say that from Episode 2 on this Series started to get my attention. The frame for the general story seems to have an intelligent structure... so I hope not to end up disappointed this time, as I was with "Happy Ending Romance" a while ago. Lately almost ALL Korean BL productions have been very poor in quality altogether... and the other two ongoing "The New Employee" and "The Director Who Buys Me Dinner" are a disaster. Cheers...!
In response to the last part in your comment, At least Korea is progressing in opening up to bl dramas. Not all of them will be good compared to ones we’ve watched before (like Thai). But I praise the Korean actors for being part of bl, and I have hope it’ll continue improving forward and I cheer them on. Bl is still very new in Korea. And Korea is still conservative. Let’s encourage them in a positive way. I don’t want them to be scared off because us fans aren’t completely pleased with the directing. Trust me, I know what you’re talking about but it takes time to improve your skills. Let’s cheer them on and suggest things we like that we think they should do, not comment on what they’re not good at 🫶❤️🩹
@@desmeisme You are unfortunately WRONG. It is NOT "Korea" opening to BL... is the strong will of a few independent producers and some courageous actors from Korea trying out this genre, and seeking for an audience in the internet. So far these Korean independent productions are only WEB MINI Series...never shown in Korean Television, without any public founding or support and with a market of viewers lower than 1% inside Korea in their online streaming platforms and apps. My personal way of encouraging any producer from any country has always been giving a feadback in all directions, and promoting actively in my TH-cam channel their works... BUT I am never going to become a blind viewer writing things like "they are so cute" or any superficial kind of comments. Those kind of comments do no help them improve in any way... but build a non progressing style that starts repeating itself in a death circle. I will never ever contribute such such a death creative state; because I do know what results that kind of pseudo encouraging means in the long term for them. Cheers...!
@@JustThai_BoysLove are there exceptions to what you said about Korean shows? it seems to me (don't have any actual data to prove it) a show like _Semantic Error_ helped garner a lot of interests so the fellow from DKZ (Seoham) could enjoy a lot a renewed interests in his boygroup and their music. all this with viewers less than 1% inside Korea?
@@embreis2257 That Korean BL Web Series showed on WATCHA in Korea... one of their own leading online streaming APPs... but imagine that platform has only 1.5 million paid subscribers altogether from Korea and Japan; in a country with a population of 51.7 million. While that Series was really very popular inside that APP it barely had 0.7 % viewers from the total of possible viewers inside that APP. I can't tell IF that Series helped any of the actors with their other careers or music groups. We would need to see the sale data to analyze if there was any impact or relationship to the Series popularity. BUT even then... The Series itself don't profit from such sale ramifications. It just generates some interest in the merchandizing for others. Cheers...!
Don't agree that The New Employee or The Director Who Buys Me Dinner are "disasters". Not perfect but still enjoyable. Limited by budget and runtime. On the other hand, although it's a welcome development that there are so many Thai BL series in recent times, have dropped most ... poor script, stiff "acting", repeated pairings of actors under contract with the same studios - sometimes 4-5 times, etc. Pretty much quantity over quality.
