It's so racist, I'm going off onto an unrelated rant but he has long hair, when he wakes up in the morning and his long curly hair is all nappy and almost dreaded I see him like his face is rays of the sun because of the way his beautiful hair almost naturally dreads up over night beautifully.

Granted he may have done it for a movie which is understandable for his profession (they constantly change themselves) but the way people reacted was stupid. So many ladies, with locs, criticized him because it was freeform and not the stylish twisty locs... All it takes is one businessman and woman (who is widely know and successful in the non entertainment fields) and I bet all those people with or without locs, will all of sudden think its cool...
I freeform and I use rubber bands on my locs too to keep certain sections together, you gotta be careful when you take them out though. On shorter locs like yours (and mine too) the rubber band could easily have enough grip to pull on the hair all the way to the roots. You'll notice it if you feel tugging you when you move your hair up to tie it and what not. When you pull the bands out, always follow the band with your other hand so you're pulling on the rubber and not the hair, even then you might found one or two full length hairs getting completely torn out. Hope this helps man :)
You can’t expect to have the same freeform style with 3b or 3c hair , no matter what u say it will not look the same.freeform truly only works on 4a,4b, or 4c type of hair. And don’t comment if you don’t even know hair types or better yet your own hair type.

I use loc jewelry to create congos i was scared of rubber bands 😂but anyways the weeknds locs were iconic it sucked he cut them but ppl have reasons but his locs were amazing,i also purposely flattened some locs by moisturizing them a bit before i take a nap for work,i absolutely love my loc journey this is gonna be more freedom than my 1st set all is well yall
