I saw your video and Im trying to do this stand on bar as these little kids are doing. It's too scary. Love your videos and thanks to your tips of correction of basics im starting to piece it together.

what helped me as a kid get my squat on is putting my home bar at the lowest setting, then from a block, jump from front support-ish to a squat on. Many repetitions engraved the shoulder over bar process. when I would go back to the gym, it was like magic. my coach was so negative compared to you and I might've gone passed level 7 if u were mine lol. but for some gymnasts, maybe asking them to practice some drills at home might help. at least thats what worked for me :)

Love your content! I'm struggling with teaching the front hip circle, my gymnasts don't seem to undertand it. Any tips?

It’s a great one. And thanks! These girls just get better and better and easier and easier to coach as they develop more understanding of the sport.

hey does great try imply good or bad because it sounds your being sarcastic most of the time when i say this it dents my gymnasts. but i love your help and constructive criticism towards them!

I asked them about this last night to confirm with them and they take “good try” as more of a compliment towards their effort. We really praise effort because that’s something they can absolutely control, unlike praising them for being talented. They like when we say “good try” and feel like it’s confirmation that they’re on the right track. We make sure to explain this to them as well so that they know we’re not being sarcastic.
