I think it’s crazy how unfounded revenge/smashing song of praise are the only Earthbound/Mother battle themes thats in the game when there’s so many fantastic ones they could remix
What I would do to have Porky Means Business and Natural Killer Cyborg in smash
Natural killer cyborg is fantastic, but its entire melody is practically ripped straight from the guitar solo in Beat it, so I doubt it would happen
I wish there was an Absolutely Safe Capsule remix, it could benefit from some dark ambient to showcase how futile the battle is.
God, there's a lot of amazing songs in the Mother series.

In Earthbound (Mother 2) the localization team had no idea whether his name was supposed to be "Porky" or "Pokey", so when Mother 3 came out and everything was pig-themed they were like "well, shit".
I like to think that Pokey transitioned into Porky after becoming insane and evil like the Dr. Robotnik turning into Eggman

Why DIDNT Porky get representation in Ultimate? He doesn’t even have a spirit. There’s no way that someone THAT important in Smash history would be left out. I say he’s gonna be in the game.

This whole time I was praying that Nintendo purposefully omitted Porky from the game to eventually bring him out as a fighter, after today I am firmly reminded that Nintendo just forgets about Mother from time to time. Maybe in Smash Bros Ultimate 2 or something.

I just want to point out; Porky has not returned as a boss, he does not have a spirit, or any actual mention of him in game, apart from Ness and Lucas's bios, and the music and stages. I swear if he isn't in Fighter's Pass Vol 2, then that is a big "Fuck You" to Porky, because he has so much potential, as a fighter, and character.
And it also would bring a villain rep to Mother, since most franchises with 2 or 3 fighters always has one/two heroes and one/two villains of the franchise represented

If I recall, they got backlash from Brawl for spoiling so much of Mother 3's final chapter. Since then Smash 4 had the statue as a trophy and nothing else, I guess they didn't feel like having a spirit either. (Although it could have been an Earthbound-only spirit)
@@fernandobanda5734 True but those smash entries have been out for awhile now ( including MOTHER 3 itself ) which they still haven't even localized till this day. It wouldn't be much of a spoil especially since they kept New Pork City in ultimate.
i NEED Pokey in smash, i will literally cry if he gets added. and the fact that the Absolutely Safe Capsule spirit is empty, and he has no other spirits makes me hope hes getting put in.
my main question is what name will they use for him though? Pokey or Porky? i know Pokey is a mistranslated name, but it stayed as Pokey even on the virtual console version of Earthbound, so why wouldn't they change that if they knew it was wrong? makes me think if he gets in smash, his name may be Pokey. i dont care what name he uses i just NEED him in smash.

My idea for a porky reveal trailer would be this:
It takes place in the beginning world of light cutscene, right after kirby warps away. It cuts to one beam of light, zooming into the distance to some kind of round object. It collides, but before that, for a split second, one can see, it's the absolutely safe capsule. A giant cloud of smoke rises, once it settles, the capsule is destroyed. Out of the rubble, a figure rises, splash screen:
PORKY
means business!
(Cut to gameplay)
We will just have to wait. I hope he will be revealed today

I know I’m a year late on this but... out of all the villains in smash.... porky to me.. would be the most evil villain to be in the game. He was a child you joined a cult and kidnapped a girl, teamed up with evil itself, tried to kill 4 kids, Time travels to the future, killed a kids mother, turned his brother into a robot, reeked havoc on the world, and eventually succeeded in destroying the world......all to get revenge on the people who didn’t like him. He went to those extreme lengths for that.. tbh ,for ness and Lucas to see him again would probably be incredibly traumatizing for them..especially Lucas, cuz as far as he knows, porky was supposed to be locked away for all eternity.
i like this sentiment. the only reason porky isn't in smash is for ness and lucas' own good.

He wasn't even at E3. But I'm not losing hope, This is truly his last chance, I hope he is the final fighter. Something to his advantage is that smash has an history of ending DLCs on a low note

I feel Kazuya has ironically increased his chances. Because Kazuya got in, the Smash dlc pattern is continued; oddball 1st party(plant and minmin), square enix(hero and Sephiroth), Microsoft(banjo and Steve), popular JRPG for both audiences(Joker and Pyra), and now fighting game rep(Terry and Kazuya). Byleth is a popular eastern JRPG 1st party, a characteristic Porky has too. Byleth also was a promotional character; Porky could promote a possible mother 3 localization. Finally, by 3rd parties like Master Chief and Crash practically being deconfirmed, Porky has less to go up against. I can’t help but think he’s getting in.

Possibly the most evil character in any Nintendo game ever made. Dude literally destroyed the world, jumped dimensions to get more slaves, and aimed to destroy the last survivors all while creating body horror creatures in labs.

@Loi Valdes good for you, the only character that I got in ultimate that I wanted was pyra/mythra, if you haven’t tried the xenoblade franchise I highly recommend it

Porky's final smash should be something to do with him turning off the devils machine and unleashing Giygas on the players hit.
