A little inside info: when in Myrtle Beach, definitely visit the state parks (Myrtle Beach State Park and especially Huntington Beach State Park ) in the area. The best beaches and some very interesting history. You won`t be disappointed, I promise.
Ken Bugawisan For the most part yes, bad parts are deep down town leaving myrtle south. I would recommend North Myrtle and it’s surrounding little towns where it’s more residential and quiet and peaceful.
Been going to the south part for last 7 years and always walk around the sky wheel.area even at night and NEVER had an issues

I'm from Virginia Beach and I love Myrtle Beach more.. the oceanfront is way cleaner than VA beach and there is way more attractions to do there.. I'm going for spring break in April ❤️

Mrytle beach is a paradise for retired people: lovely beaches, garden city, good climate, diversified restaurants with tasty food, tons of the recreation, very affordable houses with low property tax, and, nice people. OMG!

I've been there from Charlotte NC, and I love it! Especially the candy store and ferris wheel!
I've been taking my family there for the last 6 years. I know some day I will end up moving there.

Same here first went here in the 80s on a family vacation. Been coming last 7 years amd one day ill live here
Think about it before moving. Rent a condo before you decide to move.
Tips: I recommend renting a Condo rather than a Hotel. Sure, more expensive, but will be more comfortable. Also, I would say not to swim by any piers. Fishing rods and sharks are there.

I stopped to Columbia, South Carolina after I makes a great trip trying to reaches to Myrtle Beach.I was the hurricane that stopped me to reaches to Myrtle Beaches in July of 2021!

I went here with my Mom, Dad, And one of my bffs in July, 2021, and it was a blast. I’m begging my parents for us to go again already! The beach water was the perfect temperature, and the boogie board saved me from drowning. I do know how to swim, but at that time I was still learning and I accidentally put my arms down which is why I almost drowned. I really recommend this place. The hotels that are right down the road from the beach gives a great view of the ocean. It’s also a good idea to take pics because of how beautiful it is here.
