  • Hey everyone! Moving to the warehouse starting today! Here is a quick tip to find old files based on a part in the file.
    Notepad ++ download: notepad-plus-p...
    Expression: (?si)(\bPART\b.*?\bREMARK\b)|(\bREMARK\b.*?\bPART\b)
    Credit to NICKY for notepad ++ idea!!!!

    Awesome! Any idea how to search your archives on a mac without notepad++?

    BUT what if you don't know the draw number (REMARK)? Thanks David!

      OK, if you don't have the drawer number, simple just put the PART Number in the search, only the part number instead of that long formula and you will get a return of all files with that part number. Then look at those.

    Thanks for sharing! I can see how this is useful for finding the files where you have uploaded the part BUT my biggest issue is me not updating the remark. I don't think anything can help me with that :)

      Well, perhaps still, if there Are drawers that did get uploaded in that file, it would give you a number range to check.

      Consolidated parts problems. :/

      @@DOTUBricks no not really. As you sell out of lots you end up with spaces in your storage which need to be filled. Therefore the numbers are often very random.

      @@DavidWestDNABrix Surely either approach still has random drawers that are either empty or have capacity for additional parts. Your drawers aren't always going to be sequential.

      @@BrickArena I see. I suppose any assistance in finding a missing part is not valuable at all then. Good to know!

    could you add a color code part the expression?

      Yes that should be possible. But it wouldn’t be case specific. It would show files with that remark, color, and item ID , but the item wouldn’t need to be in that color if that makes sense.
