At the biochemical level, whole-body exposure to cold triggers a release of neurotransmitters such as serotonin, cortisol, dopamine, norepinephrine, and β-endorphin [14], which play a crucial role in emotion regulation [15,16], stress regulation [17], and reward processing [18].

Exactly. Cold showers are great for the brain.

❤ Hi Blake. Enjoyed the video and hearing of your 60 plan. Good luck. Am not sure why you take cold showers early in the morning. We have winter minus temps here just now and it would be sure tough 🥶☃️. In summertime don’t mind jumping in lake or using cold water in bucket to wash though it’s a quick one. I know you have taken them for a while so I guess it is a rapid get going in the morning routine 👍 I think you would enjoy being a meditative monk 😀👍 bye W❤️

Yeah, thanks man. The reason I take them is that it’s an act of discipline. Also, they’ve been proven to help raise your dopamine baseline afterwards.

Cold showers can help reduce inflammation, relieve pain, improve circulation, lower stress levels, and reduce muscle soreness and fatigue. Hot showers, meanwhile, can improve cardiovascular health, soothe stiff joints, and improve sleep. Understanding when to take a hot or cold shower is essential. Found this online.

Bed? A warm shower is better than a cold one for sleep, experts agree. There are plenty of benefits of cold showers, but cooler temps are best reserved for earlier in the day when you need that boost in alertness and energy.
