With the recent issues of the SEC and issues alike I stopped paying tithing and I have no problem telling my bishop that I don't feel comfortable right now paying a tithe while there are all these misappropriation of church funds going on and he was actually pretty understanding. No church, power, institution, state, corp, etc is exempt from accounting a true, full, and transparent disclosure of funds. @PeaceOut72 theres another great doc out there about a woma that went to so.e other cou try to help with childhood hunger. She of course became a celebrity when thongs were good. Kids died under her care. Another example that the real people that help with the real problems dont get or seek attention. They just help. THANK YOU! My job is closely involved in working with survivors of sex trafficking, and for years many people involved in fighting trafficking knew something was off with Ballard and OUR. No one, at least in my circles, could have guessed it was as bad as it was.
Trafficking is defined in the USA as, "Human trafficking occurs when a trafficker uses force, fraud, or coercion to compel another person to work or engage in a commercial sex act"...

With the recent issues of the SEC and issues alike I stopped paying tithing and I have no problem telling my bishop that I don't feel comfortable right now paying a tithe while there are all these misappropriation of church funds going on and he was actually pretty understanding. No church, power, institution, state, corp, etc is exempt from accounting a true, full, and transparent disclosure of funds. I love the church, I disagree with many things, don't believe in some things, never liked Joseph Smith especially ( I believe he was called a prophet of the restoration, but that he fell into sin as we all do, but his position and influence amplified the types and severity of his sin). I go because I believe in Christ and I can separate the sinful actions of people from the Church/God.
