Don't miss the most mesmerizing piece of Cinema this year. Cannibal Holocaust. Rated G.
Except that it isn't good? At all. Sorry , but if your version of entertainment contains actual footage of a real monkey having it's face cut off, you have some issues.
I mean, it's good because of its story, not necessarily because Rugerro killed live animals on camera and had his actors remain silent for a year after the film was released. Though that certainly helped in getting him charged with animal cruelty and obscenity.
This whole intro is incredibly unsettling to me. The music is calming, yet ominous given the knowledge of what follows it. Plus, it’s accompanied by the shaky, slightly low quality, obviously decades old, aerial footage of a seemingly peaceful, yet obviously perilous jungle. The whole thing is sickeningly tranquil. The uneasy calm, before a gruesome storm. Definitely a fitting intro for this movie.
I just randomly watched that episode and it ended and the song started playing and even the first time when the episode dropped, that ending scene scared me only because of this song. I don’t even know if it’s originally a famous song or if they made it for the movie and then added it in euphoria.
No matter how you feel about this film, there is something very gripping about the opening title. The easy-listening music and lush amazon scenery lure you into a false sense of security. "Perhaps this film isn't as bad as everyone's on about," you think, settling into your couch. Sike
Such beautiful music and cinematography. Really let's you know what a Oscar worthy, lighthearted family movie you're in for! Rated G. Perfect for fans of Frozen and Pixar Movies.

"Man is omnipotent! Nothing is impossible for him. What seemed to be unthinkable undertakings yesterday are history today. The conquest of the moon, for example: who talks about it anymore? Today, we are already on the threshold of conquering our galaxy; and, in a not-too-distant tomorrow, we'll be considering the conquest of the universe. And yet, man seems to ignore the fact that on this very planet there are still people living in the stone age and practicing cannibalism."
Saw this when I was around 5 years old on a sneaky early Saturday while everyone else was sleeping. It had been rented from the local video store the night before and they'd watched it the night before while I was asleep. The violence in it most certainly affected me, and the animal cruelty had me in tears. This did 2 things: 1) I had something REALLY interesting to talk about at primary school on Monday and 2) It played a big part into why I still ask "Why?" more than most other questions. I figured out the movie long ago, but the curiosity and mystery it presented at the time was horrifying for me, so I had to find out why it was made, who made it and who it was made for. Granted it took a few more years before I was able to tie it all together (thanks Fangoria). So while it's not a movie I would watch without a very good reason to do so, I'm thankful for it's existence as it's role in keeping my curiosity at the forefront, so as never to lose the imagination needed to NEED to ask why instead of blindly accepting.
@@potatoman7760 Caused a few sleepless nights. Worked out for the best though. It taught me to question everything, regardless of how I feel personally about it. It's really bizarre to me the amount of people running around just accepting shit instead of stopping and saying "Hang on a minute".
I put this song in the mornings when I am brewing my coffee and it makes me feel like I am going to heaven. Kind of weird because the film is just beyond the realms of darkness. 😄
Riz Ortolani was a true professinal at his craft, knowing that the movie will have a much harder impact if the music will be the opposite of what the film portrays. Why was Leslie Nielsen so effective at comedy? Because he did the opposite, he played it like he was given serious dramatic parts. The magic of two polar opposites. So different, yet they complete each other.
Oddly one of the most soothing and harmonious theme songs for what was ultimately a total mind f**k of unspeakable violence and horror. The only thing that comes close is the theme of The Exorcist, Tubular Bells.
I disagree no film is like Cannibal Holocaust, or ever will be for the rest of mankind. It is the epitome of filmmaking innovation and social commentary. No film will ever come close to it. I mean, it single handedly created a whole new genre of filmmaking for god sakes! Not too many films can or have ever done that. I love your analysis of the music.
Like these old cannibal movies, although very gruesome, they are adventurous to watch, the sounds of the jungle, the clammy heat, gives you a wonderful atmosfear, liked Mangiati vivi too
A movie that's just crying out for a modern day big budget remake. Maybe Rob Zombie might be up to it? I can think of a few other studios-Ghost House, Blumhouse, A24, IFC Midnight-- maybe Shudder?

Such a pretty ethereal melody for such an awfully disturbing movie. You are talking about an oxymoron.
Exactly
That's probably my favorite part of this movie. The juxtaposition of the intro song and movie.
The whole contrast of it is why it works
This have been my favorite song for 12 years
Don’t wanna see this movie any more than The Exorcist but this song basically belongs on my 7 acres on my channel! Good choice.
The fact that this track played in the recent Euphoria episode means that shit is about to go down next week 😭
