That golf course needs relocating out to the ocean. Then return ot to a nice colour ful park with lots of flowers and small trees. The park would then become a place for locals and tourists to relax whilst exploring the surroundings.
I hope the city can get more funding to remove the overhead wires in both Intramuros and Binondo (Chinatown) and encourage pedestrian shopping streets like in Europe. It's already been done quite successfully in Bonifacio High Street.
True, they should make those overhead wires in the whole Intramuros and also do more brick roads as well on all small streets. They also have to relocate informal settlers and make sure all the buildings will follow the building code and architecture for Intramuros. I think best they have to remove the old mall inside Intramuros that uses bland 60's architecture and don't follow the Colonial and Bahay-na-Bato architecture.
I know the city quite well, having gone to school there myself. It would be very difficult to remove the slums when they provide politicians with votes during elections. There have been some improvements, but still leaves much to be desired. I would still like to see the removal of the Torre de Manila, however. But it's starting to seem more and more unlikely due to the lack of support and political will.
Things to do to improve Intramuros: 1. Remove the squatters 2. Put those ugly wires underground 3. Ban tricycles, padyaks and jeepneys and instead revive the tram system that goes around Intramuros. 4. Prohibit road side parking 5. Widen the sidewalk with cobblestone for an old city vibe. And there you go, Intramuros will be alive again and it will attract more tourists. So many opportunities wasted with this wonderful historical place.

Plus, protecting endangered animals in our country and also even animals that's not endangered. Our country is rich. I hope the Philippines will rise soon. Thanks so much for this!
corruption, too many people and un-even distribution of wealth are some of the reasons those dreams will be very hard to achieve and there's no way to compare it to Europe .no.
Well presently you cannot compare Manila to Europe as most of the Grand Architectural structures were destroyed. Pre-War Manila though was comparable to European cities and was actually dubbed thd PARIS OF THE EAST. B29 carpet bombing by the Americans almost completely obliterated the once famed Oriental Hispanic City into smithereens. Rest is history and a once proud Cultural heritage gone in smoke.
I hope they can fix the wires there also this is unlikely and not feasible but it nice to see less modern cars in Intramuros.....maybe it would be better if they only allowed kalesas or bikes in there to really look European. And of course keeping the streets really clean will always be nice. Great video, I loved it!
Intramuros is beautiful, full of history. We should look to Boston for examples on how to care and preserve historical sites. This place has amazing potential. A gem to be polished. They should charge people for parking and use the proceeds to improve the area. Btw, that golf course is a slap in the face to all Filipinos. That area should be a walking and biking trail where people can picnic and enjoy the walls from outside.
I am literally and physically feeling the yearning and craving to go out and explore the city again. I have always fancied a solitary walking tour of the Walled City of Intramuros. Your video is practically making me cry.... I really want to go out again

I visited some of these places in 2019 and I have to say that they were really beautiful. I really like the unique atmosphere, you cannot experience this in other Asian countries. Just that I was scammed by the tricycle drivers at San Agustin Church, so I avoid looking back at the photos because it reminded me of how stupid I was hahaha. But I definitely want to visit these places again!
They really should start implementing underground pathways for those electric lines, it kills the atmosphere of being in a time of old colonial Manila.
@@No-Pressure-Only-Results thats a different story. Some areas of manila are low which is prone in flooding thats why underground electric lines cant do here and manila is also have fault lines which is very risky when earthquake happens. Its not all about peoole tho lol
Intramuros is almost like a faded crown. Much of the luster and grandeur it once held in the prewar era was lost to war and modernization. A shame the Filipinos did not restore it like in Europe. Last time I was there, there were modern-styled buildings erected inside Intramuros that stuck out like a sore thumb. Did not fit the old-manila style at all. Hopefully, the newer administrations will lean towards more preservation and restoration
It isn't great, but in the video there were at least some buildings that look restored or looked historical. I totally agree that it's mindboggling why the government hates rebuilding the old buildings of the past. It deserves a lot more respect than people give credit for. Literally our own style of architecture. I can speak with some of our structures before the west came and influenced the country, but the buildings from the 1500s-1900s were an examples of Filipino style building that had some Western and East Asian influence. These government clowns and people think the buildings that replace these structures like these cheap malls means more than buildings the ancestors built in their own way.
Thank you so much showing Mapua University i got teary eyed as i remember walking the street of Intramuros with my father he used to work in Mapua. This time i will be walking along with my children and my father in my locket i miss Philippines 🥲

I like Intramuros, my favorite place in the city of Manila. The squatters area is an eye soar. Hopefully, the informal settlers will be relocated outside of Intramuros though.

Good news, the current mayor is building in-city vertical and horizontal housing within Manila. In due time they will be relocated to these housing projects.
I went there during my 2019 field trip. I was always fascinated by Intramuros when I first learned about it in school. Nevertheless, I was amazed on how beautiful Intramuros looked (apart from the slums and overhead wires). I wish that the whole area is preserved and renovated to atleast keep the old “Spanish Vibes” alive.
If you see a Doric or Ionian column of an old building structure that must be a Spanish inspired Architecture but are very rare today in the Philippines for many of the old buildings were destroyed during WWII.
@52:57 yep, that’s my school right over there. The contruction beside the school used to be a McDonalds back in the mid 90’s and there was this small restaurant named “Knights” where we always hangout.
The rest pure reconstruction nalang, mali pa.. Still, kudos sa Intramuros administration for trying to replicate the once beautiful original city of Manila.
Napaka Romantic. Makauwi at maka Bisita na po sana Father God. Ako po ay Batang Maynila.
This video would have been perfect with sub titles depicting the Street names and historical sites, buildings; some not all. Otherwise; job well done, keep up the good work.
Superb 4k HDR.. And now historically educational too. Thanks for the captions.. So many died in the bombings and the home invasions in the war, the relatives I never met.. It’s good that you did not edit out the squatters (or “informal settlers” for the PC crowd) side of Manila..
Hi Guys, I am really liking your walking tours so thank you, how about some commentary aka Carlos Cedric (RIP) style? I think that would add a lot to your great videos.
It is ironic that this is the first time I have taken a virtual tour of Intramuros even though I could have toured it anytime when I was still studying at Mapua over 30 years ago.
I remember SM Manila, I was wondering why the city govt allowed it to be erected without a congruent architectural style to blend in with abutting old buildings e.g Manila City Hall. If it and & other newer structures around were required to have classical architectures, then it could have been a far better scenery than what we see now. Well, that's what we get when we have vision-less city-leaders I guess.
I toured this place on my own some time in 2015. But because it was hot and sunny ("tanghaling tapat"), I decided to hire a pedicab driver for P500, taking me from one museum to another, baluarte to baluarte (10 places all in all including his waiting time). Don't know if it's cheap or expensive but it was worthwhile.
We took a kalesa from Luneta ending up in my old school Mapua and boarding house and paid P4.800. I thought the tour and time he spent with us is worth a million bucks!
Thanks for the little notes on what you’re looking at. Got anything on old Clark air base? I’ve seen a lot of the new stuff. But I can’t remember where I’m at. Something like a old base map or a picture from before would be very helpful. Looking for our old house. They were like pre fab home’s built on about three foot concrete piling. NCO housing. 68-70. I’d just would like to see what ever happened to it. Wish I could remember that address. Thanks.
As usual, those electric spaghetti wires are sore eyes not only in Intramuros but in the entire Manila. Hope those modernist buildings inside Intramuros be renovated and make it like bahay na bato style like what they did in some European cities ravaged by the war. Likewise, the informal settlers inside the Intramuros be relocated to other places in Metro Manila or elsewhere in the province so it will attract more local and foreign tourists. Likewise all those pedicabs be replaced with more traditional caretelas. Hope Intramuros Administration be funded more to further beautify the famous Intramuros

Lol europe in your dream base in the video hahaah its a cap
its like mumbai india not eroupe
Europe?!? This looks like a Latin American town.
ang ganda ng intramuros. historical talaga. sending my full support su po. follow ako. abang sa mga bago . keep safe po. have a bless day!
Hello from California! Thanks for bringing back memories of my college years at Mapua (BSEE74) and stay at a nearby boarding house.
Wow!nakarating na ako .
I hope they can fix the wires there also this is unlikely and not feasible but it nice to see less modern cars in Intramuros.....maybe it would be better if they only allowed kalesas or bikes in there to really look European. And of course keeping the streets really clean will always be nice. Great video, I loved it!
No underground wires.. bcs of floods..
Very beautiful old and historic city of Manila, it is the greatest joy of the city! Very good video !
Appreciate the effort of walking for hours for people to enjoy this. I'm a graduate of Mapua batch '99 and missed seeing this place. Thanks!
I remember going to intramuros to have a jog with my grandpa, grandma and my sibling. Covid halted us doing those activities
I am literally and physically feeling the yearning and craving to go out and explore the city again. I have always fancied a solitary walking tour of the Walled City of Intramuros. Your video is practically making me cry.... I really want to go out again

Great walking tour, my friend! Thanks for sharing!
Just walk around na lang, hahhaha..
Nice, driven by the gate, in 1987, now I get to see inside!
They really should start implementing underground pathways for those electric lines, it kills the atmosphere of being in a time of old colonial Manila.
But the risk will be high as manila is known for floods. Fix the sewage system first i guess.
@@seungcheolcreditcard6789 whaT? fix sewage maybe fix trhe people LOL
@@No-Pressure-Only-Results thats a different story. Some areas of manila are low which is prone in flooding thats why underground electric lines cant do here and manila is also have fault lines which is very risky when earthquake happens. Its not all about peoole tho lol
The old buildings look stunning...thank you for sharing
Intramuros is almost like a faded crown. Much of the luster and grandeur it once held in the prewar era was lost to war and modernization. A shame the Filipinos did not restore it like in Europe.
Last time I was there, there were modern-styled buildings erected inside Intramuros that stuck out like a sore thumb. Did not fit the old-manila style at all. Hopefully, the newer administrations will lean towards more preservation and restoration
maybe the modern buildings can refacade their buildings
It isn't great, but in the video there were at least some buildings that look restored or looked historical. I totally agree that it's mindboggling why the government hates rebuilding the old buildings of the past.
It deserves a lot more respect than people give credit for. Literally our own style of architecture. I can speak with some of our structures before the west came and influenced the country, but the buildings from the 1500s-1900s were an examples of Filipino style building that had some Western and East Asian influence.
These government clowns and people think the buildings that replace these structures like these cheap malls means more than buildings the ancestors built in their own way.
Intramuros & Fort Santiago Historical Places 💙❤️
Thank you so much showing Mapua University i got teary eyed as i remember walking the street of Intramuros with my father he used to work in Mapua. This time i will be walking along with my children and my father in my locket i miss Philippines 🥲
Thank you for sharing 😃
ang ganda naman talaga ng intrmuros
Thanks for sharing and have fun
This video is excellent! Thank you so much! I've been to Manila a few times but never had the chance to come here! Salamat Po
You're welcome, Victor! Thank you for watching!
Unforgettable place where my daughter Finished her MD DEGREE AT pamantSan ng Maynila. Love it
Hahaha hirap maging probinsyano pag napadpad dyan. Thank you for this video.
Intramuros is beautiful. I hope they will improve the landscaping of plants. More Trees and flowers. I suggest to fixed the wirings because it blocks the view and they need renovate the walkways
God bless. Thank you
Maganda kuha mo brad hindi mo minamadali we can absorb every view of Intramuros maraming salamat.
Thank you for the comment, Mark! 😃
53:11 Colegio de San Juan de Letran! The school i went to when i lived in the Philippines it's still standing! It was established in 1620 at the same location in intramuros.
19:50 The best view of the building looking up
I like Intramuros, my favorite place in the city of Manila. The squatters area is an eye soar. Hopefully, the informal settlers will be relocated outside of Intramuros though.
Good news, the current mayor is building in-city vertical and horizontal housing within Manila. In due time they will be relocated to these housing projects.
Meyor Isko, you made Kartilya beautiful again. Can you do it to Intramuros, for the sake of the Filipino heritage?
When i heard intramuros i remember my college life 😭 i remember we are always exploring intramuros after class
thank you for sharing ingat po and God bless
I Really Miss Intramuros....T.Y. for Posting 👍🏽👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽
very great walking tour .
thank for sharing my friend .
Thank you for the tour I have not been home for almost 20 years, profound memories of my native land.
Your videos always provide a feeling of serenity and escape.
Thank you very much for this moment.
Merci ! 😁

Great historical place!! Thanks for sharing!:)
Estou por aqui asirtindo tudo 100%💞👍
when i am in elementari i will visited this place thank you for sharing this video my friend from 4k walking in the city of rome italy
naalala ko unang field trip namin nung grade iv or v dyan kami nag punta tapos luneta
If you see a Doric or Ionian column of an old building structure that must be a Spanish inspired Architecture but are very rare today in the Philippines for many of the old buildings were destroyed during WWII.
Thank you for filming. These are the best quality videos.
Thank you for the comment, Russell!
It's a wonderful city
Thank you for uploading the video
Have a good day my friend 💜
@52:57 yep, that’s my school right over there. The contruction beside the school used to be a McDonalds back in the mid 90’s and there was this small restaurant named “Knights” where we always hangout.
Letranista!!! Class of 1980!
Thank you ! Really made us have a tour of Intramuros. Sana a little more time when there’s info to read. Thanks again.
thank you for sharing♥️🙏
Very Beautiful Intramuros!
I dunno why but I really love Intramuros.
Nice work, especially the close up detailing! 😁👍🏼
I want to run. This is an amazing walking video. 😍👍
The rest pure reconstruction nalang, mali pa.. Still, kudos sa Intramuros administration for trying to replicate the once beautiful original city of Manila.
Napaka Romantic. Makauwi at maka Bisita na po sana Father God. Ako po ay Batang Maynila.
Sana maging mas pedestrian friendly pa ang intramuros . Some of the buildings needs to be restored.
Enjoyed the scenes along the tour my friend.
Nice job! Greetings from the Netherlands! :)
This video would have been perfect with sub titles depicting the Street names and historical sites, buildings; some not all. Otherwise; job well done, keep up the good work.
You videos are awesome. Look so good on my OLED TV
That beautiful Spanish architecture 😍
wow angganda nadyan
Wow! Beautiful Spanish architecture atound Intramuros.
Superb 4k HDR.. And now historically educational too. Thanks for the captions.. So many died in the bombings and the home invasions in the war, the relatives I never met.. It’s good that you did not edit out the squatters (or “informal settlers” for the PC crowd) side of Manila..
Nice shot, in a very nice place, pa shout out idol, sa next vlog
Most Beutiful district in the Philippines where the ancient meets the present.
Hi Guys, I am really liking your walking tours so thank you, how about some commentary aka Carlos Cedric (RIP) style? I think that would add a lot to your great videos.
very comfortable video nice! 😃
Grabe!! Love your video quality 💯 👏🏻 made me miss intramuros more! Thanks for this!! ❤️
Thank you, Kyarra! 😃
Yes nice views
It is ironic that this is the first time I have taken a virtual tour of Intramuros even though I could have toured it anytime when I was still studying at Mapua over 30 years ago.
I remember SM Manila, I was wondering why the city govt allowed it to be erected without a congruent architectural style to blend in with abutting old buildings e.g Manila City Hall. If it and & other newer structures around were required to have classical architectures, then it could have been a far better scenery than what we see now. Well, that's what we get when we have vision-less city-leaders I guess.
most of our bureaucrats don't care about aesthetics. what your saying makes sense, but that's more of western aspirations than what's reality.
Thank you so much. God bless.
Nice! i saw my med school PLM! Mabuhay!
ganda ng pinas malinis ata
Very Clean
I toured this place on my own some time in 2015. But because it was hot and sunny ("tanghaling tapat"), I decided to hire a pedicab driver for P500, taking me from one museum to another, baluarte to baluarte (10 places all in all including his waiting time). Don't know if it's cheap or expensive but it was worthwhile.
if it's worthwhile to you, then it was a fair price. don't know why you're so worried about the fare, esp. if you're balikbayan.
We took a kalesa from Luneta ending up in my old school Mapua and boarding house and paid P4.800. I thought the tour and time he spent with us is worth a million bucks!
Hopefully maka punta dito uli soon...
Thanks.
aaah, the sights and sounds, no bull.
Bahain nga kasi maynila.. di pwede i underground yan.. kay mamamatay lahat ng tao
its been a long time I was not able to see this.thank you for sharing!
