OK, I have no idea who this is..I know he's a teen idol kinda guy and usually me, being a 40 year old dismiss this kid as corny or teenybopper. I must say, speaking as a huge fan of Jellyfish..I think this kid has got some real major talent. Good for him for bringing this song out of hiding. Drake Bell, nice work and great choice of material. I am really impressed..I wish this kid nothing but luck in his future....

I could have done without the AutoTune (anyone who thinks it wasn't there is absolutely wrong - you can clearly hear it correcting many times during the performance), but it was surely a worthy cover of the song. Kid's good...probably even without computer help...and Jellyfish is one of the most underappreciated bands in pop history.

Haha, this is great! Some "old guy" member of his band in his 20's (lol) probably turned him on to Jellyfish. BLESS YOU for bringing it to the young generation!!! Jellyfish - Spilt Milk is one of the greatest pop rock albums of all time. School those kids. Go Drake!

Yeah, after it was pointed out I watched live videos (not from the DVD) from the same concert and realised that they did use autotune but it wasn't really Drake that was out but the back-up singers. I guess they just must've used it for the DVD's sake but I'd watch Drake perform live anyway although he has a new touring band now.

@BillyCarri Mate. I know Autotune more than you may think. Infact, I did a whole essay on it for my coursework. I'm not saying he didn't sync - because it's hard to tell due to the video being out of sync. But I cannot hear the autotune in there at all. Cher's 'Believe' is autotuned, though that is done for effect. If anything has been put on this vocal, it's been extremely carefully hidden within the mix, and I'd blame my cruddy laptop speakers for not hearing it.

Right on the money. I can't decide if it was smart for him to release this or not. On one hand, the song is great, and few people know Jellyfish. On the other side, this song is a monster. It put chills on my arms the first....100 times I heard it. You can't cover that.
I like to think I can see through a bad arrangement if the song is good. Then I heard Puffy AmiYumi's version. Apparently I was wrong.

I would have to say, the way to look at this is to give Drake Bell props for even attempting it. Just like Keane's Tom Chaplin taking on Queen's It's A Hard Life. Both do exceptional jobs.

Interestingly Andy Sturmer who wrote the song and arranged it also produced Puffy AmiYumi and happened to play the instruments and I'm guessing rearranged their version of the cover himself

What you would be referring to would be lip syncing, Go watch Milli Vanilli they were the kings of lip syncing to a live performance. Less talk more listen. if you can't hear it at 3:57 then I don't know what to tell you. It is so blatently obvious its unreal. I run a studio. I use it DAILY. Its there.
