To change the Community folder location when in the main menu of the sim go to Marketplace>My Library then click the settings icon next to search
Thank you that's very helpful. Haven't loaded 2024 yet, waiting for all the fuss to die down.
@@briansaker1882 glad to hear it! Hopefully it calms down soon enough and we can all actually get in to the sim reliably to fly 😂
Same
I waited a day. Got Fomo. Downloaded it and sat on the loading screen for over 5 hours.. im patient enough not to cry about it though lol
Il fly 2020 for now
C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Packages I think for Steam
Wait, you’re forced to use c: for all your addons?
@@simulacrae no?
No you can move the folder if you wish too -
First, click on the Green FS Marketplace icon - then My library - there's a small cog icon on the screen that will show you the location of your Community folder and with this you should be able to change the location there... Also consider doing it for your Rolling Cache location too afterwards.
@@BritishAvgeek For those who do move the Rolling Cache you will want to check and make sure the one under (steam version) C:\Users\PCAccount\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has been deleted. For me, after I moved it the original 16GB Rolling Cache was still under this folder.
@tankieboy2 THANKS
Got in a few times and flown the twin otter about. Main issue for me at the moment is selecting a place to load in and then stating the flight it just gets stuck over looking the airfield
That's where I'm constantly stuck 😭
@@BritishAvgeek I know its horrible but its nice to know i've got company. Have heard setting up a vpn and say you are in the US can help but I cba to do that
@Ehawk_ especially when some cost money for the higher speeds
In 2020, the community folder is on the D drive for me, i installed here, the 2020! Because it's a Samsung 990 pro M2 SSD, that's what it's for. My C-drive is small, reserved for the system and a few programs, but my community folder is big, I definitely don't want to keep it on the C-drive for 2024! i repeat, I installed 2024 on drive D, but there is no community folder there, only on C, but that's not good for me! Is there a way to move it to D, where the game was installed?
ive tried to move it to another drive changing the installation drive and folder inside the Usercfg.opt file.didn't work so well.gsx pro has installed ok,problem is fs2024 cant find the new community folder.trying to solve the issue at the moment.
@@TheStevehow sounds like my issue, didn't the stream host say auto install or link from msfs2020 has yet to be umplemented in msfs2024?...still a bit confused here.. also had the 97% stuck issue, but i quit it tried one more time and this time it worked.
i have the same problem too
Thank you mate, been struggling with this
Got me where I was going, thank you! ❤
Is it possible to change community folder to another location? (In 2020 you could just change install path and it would put community folder there, I did the same with 2024 but it didnt put it there)
Thanks knew all this but how do you get MSF2024 to USE your community folder? Then most don't have the space on C: they want to move that folder So to see and to use
To move the folder boot the sim then first, click on the Green FS Marketplace icon - then My library - there's a small cog icon on the screen that will show you the location of your Community folder and with this you should be able to change the location there... Also consider doing it for your Rolling Cache location too afterwards.
@@BritishAvgeek doesn't allow me to change it's location...can change the packages folder, but not the community, there's no option to select it.. simply view it...ive heard you have to create the plackages folders structure again within the msfs2024 install and also change the community location in the usercfg.opt file. so 2x entire copies of the comunity folder.. unless theres an option active or not right now to tell the game to import or load everything from msfs2020...really imho it should jyst load from the community folder for the old game, it's not as if both would be running at the same time..p
Hi, I'm just curious if I can install mfs 2024 Windows Store version on another drive. Does it automatically go to drive c and then change the location of the community folder? Please help me with the best way to do this, and I'll mention that this new drive is faster than the one I have on the system, i.e. partition c.
Overkill has a video on YT, explaining how this is done.
Yes you can certainly install on another drive. I installed with the Xbox app on an new 1tb ssd
I got a weird issue. The community folder was showing initially. I placed some sceneries in there in order to test them. They still show up ingame, but the Limitless folder stuff with the community folder does not show up in windows explorer anymore.
I found mine but it won't let me copy contents over, says something like author doesn't allow it or something like that. Haven't tried other folders.
have u fixed it?im having the same issue
@renan7937 Not tried since, not been able to even fly in the sim without a VPN - UK servers still terrible.
Great video as usual. Just out of curiosity, I’ve bought the premium deluxe for 2020, that includes the Citation Longitude. It’s not showing in my 2024. Would it be possible for me to transfer the store bought item, to the new one?
@@swiss275 yes - keep an eye on the marketplace. It's a feature they apparently activated yesterday so you should start to see those aircraft begin to appear
@ thanks. Will check as soon I get home.
And how to move it to another drive maybe ? I did eventually work it out
I just wiped every trace of 2020 and 2024 from my pc to have a nice clean install and no clashes. I installed the Steam version with the difference being it's under Appdata/Roaming/ and the folder is now titled Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 instead of Limitless like the first time I stalled. As I installed on my D: That folder in Steam is still called Limitless. Really wish it could all be in the one location if installing on a different drive as most people would for space reasons
Is it possible to install Fenix? I ask as I tried moving Fenix to the folder, but the aircraft wouldn’t work even though the app was on.
Hi once again great vid. Quick question can you just copy items in old 2020 Comm folder to new 2024 Comm folder? Cheers TIA
@@EddieEves yes - but not all will work, some do, some do with issues and some don't at all
So this is where I d put my purchased airports from MSFS 2020 and the Fenix?
@@michelloranger2590 they'll eventually need to go in the community folder but only when they've been updated to be compatible - don't forget, this is a totally new sim and new product so it's not guaranteed anything in the "older sim" (MSFS 2020) will work
Can you move the community folder in MSFS2020?
What should I do if I downloaded not from Steam, but from Xbox and there is no Addata folder? there is only a Packages folder
check the description for the steam path
Will there be an option for Xbox community stuff? I see the folder in the options
So far my biggest issue is relocating the Community on to my F: drive which is my flight sim drive, but it installs on my C: which is only 500GB and just for my OS and essential folders/files. I changed the location within the actual sim, but stuff doesn't show up lol ie liveries for the inibuilds A330. It shows up in the community folder, but no the sim.
EDIT: I figured it out. It created its own Community folder inside my community folder lol
Hello! I opened my localcache folder and found nothing, please help.
Can you put game on D SSD it lot faster than my C also SSD
Be careful with the PMDG 77W. CTD every time.
@@thecajunbritishexperiment.6190 the high fidelity aircraft addons will all no doubt need official patches from the developers to work in the new sim, until then they're not compatible officially
Can the community folder be moved to somewhere else? Such as a different drive if you have more space on there
Yes -
First, click on the Green FS Marketplace icon - then My library - there's a small cog icon on the screen that will show you the location of your Community folder and with this you should be able to change the location there... Also consider doing it for your Rolling Cache location too afterwards.
@@BritishAvgeek This is a new feature, right?
@@ilarikousa1500 well, it's been a possibility from the launch of the SIM but you can move the folder now using the above method
@@BritishAvgeek ok thanks
none of the mods that I put in the community folder are showing up. Any ideas?
@@tompesok9184 most don't work - they need to be patched or updated to work in the new sim
I bought mine through Steam and my location is in C:\Users\"USER"(your Name)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Packages\Community.
I dont see app data when i go to users, any fix?
@@owenbelasco7765 in the app data folder, find View at the top and allow Hidden Folders to be visible perhaps (not at my PC to double check)
Thank you so much. How to access the MSFS 2024 .exe file
For me, when I installed it I checked my Recently Added in the start menu, right clicked on MSFS 2024 and pinned it to taskbar... Hopefully that helps
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Limitless is where the .EXE lives if you installed steam to its default location
Perfect 👌
Can I change the location of that folder? E.g. to another drive?
Yes -
First, click on the Green FS Marketplace icon - then My library - there's a small cog icon on the screen that will show you the location of your Community folder and with this you should be able to change the location there... Also consider doing it for your Rolling Cache location too afterwards.
In the game goto the market place. Select my library. There is a cog wheel right of the search box. Click it and set your community folder.
And for Steam please?
I put it in the description for the video already when I uploaded it 😂
Now make a video of how to change the community folder into another Drive.

@ lol i know. Was just saying for people that like to visually see it via your videos.
Can you install it on designated drive? Outside of C drive?
