Just if you want an advice, next time that go paint something on you garage, sweep the floor like you did, but after that get the floor wet, so the particles of dust are not gonna flow around, I'll be safer. That's what my old school teacher told me that he used to do to paint cars. Peace
I hope your getting some kind of reward for all these videos. I can’t imagine the work that went into this one. Super informative super positive attitude. You’ve got style
No awards Im just a little crazy, and I like sharing what Im doing with rad people like your self! Thank you for the support, honestly its what keeps me going.
This is my favorite video series ever. I love hearing your process and love the honesty you put into these videos. These videos/projects are so inspiring. Only thing this one lacked was some Bongripper.
That frame looks absolutely amazing! All that work has certainly pated off! I could never do that. But thankfully, I've got some of your DCO decals. They look amazing too!
Put another two layers of matte clearcoat on top, then sand THAT down evenly, then put another layer of matte clearcoat on top of that, you will have a smooth surface and all the layers underneath!
I learned new stuff. Thanks. I parked at a rack next to a paint job that made the lightweight frame look like unpainted rusty dirty steel. I still can't figure out how the artist got that specific look even though I had already seen a video on how to make an expensive bike look old and worn.
So cool! My first frame paint job… well, my only frame paint job.. turned out bad.. epic fail! Can of krylon or whatever, and some pin stripe. Thank you for diying this even though your channel is cycling. My channel, is directed towards adventuring, but I want to do maker diy stuff.. not sure that I can do both on one channel. Bikepacking one video, epoxy diorama the next video… probably not niche enough. But doing this diy on your bike… excellent… that and your talented!
you can use another fresh sticky tape to take of the residues of glue from a ( sticky ) tape. It works great and you have not to deal with a liquid and probable smearing. Just tap it repeatedly on the places with the residues. The tape will take it off. This works on any surface, also to remove glue residues from stickers on plastic containers for instances.
This is awesome. I've never seen a video that explained the painting process so well. I finally feel like I'm ready to tackle the paint on my old Fuji Track, which has the worst factory color scheme I've ever seen (plus 10 years as a neglected city bike, locked to posts and whatnot).
Excellent video, thanks for putting this together! Rattle canned my old aluminum frame as a project last summer, and felt the same about it being a long process. Turned out nice but dry time was super long and it's not the most durable paint, so I'm envious of your choice! Camo looks great
Or instead of building all that ventilation equipment, spending all that and doing all that stuff you can simply paint in your garage with the door open or paint in your backyard. Plus they sell spray can or aerosol paint that is pre mixed way more cheaper than buying a spray gun and compressor. They also sell clear coat in aerosol cans. The one great Idea that I liked was the making of the stencil for the camo pattern.
I genuinely don't know why I haven't subbed to you until today. Your videos always pop up in my feed and I always find myself watching them when that happens. That Bombtrack is hot as fuck- good job my guy!
That’s looks sick! Fella at our shop recently took a Ridley x-bow in minion yellow (as standard) and did a custom paint job, in like Audi grey Looks so rad!
iv painted 3 bikes now, all done in my living room and all with spray cans 1st one looked good till i clear coated it a bit shit, 2nd one was a lot better but still some drops here and there but my 3rd good at a frame turn out mint, and i only spent about £15 on paint for it. but nice work man dont like camo my self but turned out nice.
This video was really helpful the watch for my painting project. I was just wondering if some one could repost the link to find good como stencils. Thanks 🙏🏽
You have lots of patience building and testing your paint booth. I also like that you made a step list. All good smart habits. So what did your buddy say about smoothing out the ridges from the layers of paint? How long did you let the paint cure before spraying the clear coat or coats?
Crazy how much effort you put in to preparing the surroundings. Compressor, right Air flow, Ventilation, plastic booth. When I sprayed my bike I just bought some cans got outside and sprayed But it also doesn't look as good as yours
Hi Dustin! thanks for the video! i could not clearly understand what your friend said on the phone, did he say YES you can sand it? and could you tell me specifically what kind of final cleaner you have been using? maybe a link to the product would be appreciated a lot! sorry to bother and thanks for the help!
Basically because of the Paint that I used(which has a hardener in it) I did not need to sand it down. There is a bit of texture to this day between the layers but I actaully like it. To make it smooth you would have to use a different paint and then add a clear coat over top. Hope this helps!
@@EverythingsBeenDone thanks Dustin! I´m doing my first steps with Spray.bike paint and I use a clear coat over it on top, seems to work fine. I was still wondering what the final cleaner product is in the end of the video? cheers
I want to paint my bike World War 1 Lozenge camo but its a daunting task and I need to make or find a stencil. Any ideas where I might find them ? Good job.
Killer work! Tackling my own project but using spraybike as BK apartment space doesn't really accommodate a spray set up. Actually matching a fork to one of your ritchey stems!
@Sma 556 thanks i take idea from guys spraying riffles and guns, there is lots of videos they do crazy good looking stuff, it was my first time and it was easy of course its not perfect but for ammount of time i spend 3 hours i think its best way to paint camo
Holy Shit....even if i don't like camo on a bike , that's an amazing job ! I have to say i'm from Europe and we don't wear Camo all day and run around with Guns like you do.....;) My Order of the Hook EXT Steel really messed up because there was a fuck between the Distibutor and the Bikeshop but thank devil i found the LAST Frame in Small in whole Europe ! Will get it on Friday...hopefully... I am curious how you will build up that beauty then......I go for a mix of Force and Rival 1 x with Hunt Wheels and Gravelkings and Ritchey Parts of course...
Hi, Dustin. Congrats with the result & thanks for making this video. PS I can see you love typography, so if you will, may I ask you about cholo type that you use for "EVERYTHINGBEENDONE". Is it a font? Thanks and good luck?
I like the way you go straight to your goal. I have the same project. But something doesn't look good in the final result, the lips between layers are really visible, I do not want to have the same problem, could it be the wrong thickness of your decals or to many coats of paint ? I also noticed that you didn't put a coat of varnish, this could have fit the gaps of layers ? I understand that for a first try mistakes happens.

Cool looking frame dude. Respect from the UK.
Much appreciated
Respect for the patience u got for getting the project done..congrats man!
I’ve painted my firearms in the past with This and I’ve been wondering how it would work on a bike! Awesome that I found this vid, bro!
For a non paint booth this is a good solution and well done all in all! I love painting bike frames! Great result.

Camolicious. Can’t wait to see the build!
ME tooooooo!
Wow bro, your patience is impeccable! Great vid!!!
Nice! The end result is great.
Thank you! Cheers!
Hats off for the amount of effort you put into it my friend. Great job.
Thank you my friend!
Watched this video a few times now, so dope and I love your attention to detail.
Respect!
High quality work! Nicely done.
Thank you!
Multicam awesomeness!!!!!! amazing both bike and both camo :DD
For paint stencil material use either Gerbermask or Controltac. They are made for this type of application and do not leave any residue when removed.
Player! Good looking out on these. Thank you!

That’s is so freaking awesome, you did a fantastic job!
Awesome paint shop set up , and that Bombtrack frame and fork looks amazing ; a true work of art .

Stoked you painted your own rig. Such a satisfying thing to paint your own bike.
Can highly recommend using spraydotbike. Powder coat in a can. Super easy to use and great fun.
Frame reflects aspects of you...schwag, v.cool but understated and always unique. Nice work....
Humbled!!! Thank you.

You're amazingly tenacious, and thorough. I thought camo would be easy...NOT!
I did too, Or at least easier then it was. It was straight forward just lots of steps. Stoked I did it though.
Very cool! Now I understand why you painted my new stem! It’s totally sweet btw!
That stem tho!!
Good job Bro..I loved it. simply awesome...
I knew a guy who used different size corks to block seat tube, steer, etc it also works well.
Thats a rad idea!
Keep the good work up

very nice, thanks a lot , greetings from Poland !

Awesome job dude! Definitely inspired me to do more diy paint jobs!
Yeah brother, I look forward to seeing them.
Amazing channel. Thanks for your work!
Holy hell, this is so sikk. Well done sir.
Thank you player!
Great Job! I would never have the patience to do that. Not even a single coat.
Oh my good looks really good😍
I am definitely going to try this out, except on the rub rail on my little homebuilt boat. Love the look of the gradient.
Love that! Oh man that is going to be one fresh looking boat.
I’ve been waiting for this one! Big ups from a fellow camo connoisseur
Camoisseur ;) love it!
Dustin Klein YES!
Great video and a great paint job. Well done👍
Much respect!
Dope paint job Dustin, that was awesome.
You could try to sand it with grid 3000 and add another layer of matt clear coat? I do this a lot with scale model cars.
This is a great suggestion! thank you

nice bike sir hope someday I can built that
I hope so too!
Looks really good, why didn't you just get the ready mixed camo paint, it's usually next to the tartan spray paint?
DUDE! Sooooo good!!!
YESHHH thanks bud!
Crazy how much effort you put in to preparing the surroundings. Compressor, right Air flow, Ventilation, plastic booth.
When I sprayed my bike I just bought some cans got outside and sprayed
But it also doesn't look as good as yours
Kudos on the cerakoat doing it on a handgun is tricky you did it on a much bigger scale

Jolie travaille le cadre est très beau
You should give it a clear coat to protect it more and bring out the shine.
Duracoat paints say the don’t require clear coat. Plus I was feeling the matte vibe 🤷🏻♀️
Turned out great, but where is the link to the stencils?
It'd sure save me some time with an exacto knife. 😀
Watching you is art. It's like live performance entertainment. 💯
