Panama is beautiful but the bad apples and the weird rotting apples that co exist in that society is the worst and Bottom of the line of the worst behaviour among them... Barely to no support with each other, everybody gossip about everybody and are so nosy, oh did i mention men out here dont even know the bare minimum of chivalry... Granted, its the same in most places...
You have no idea how much this video means to me. My father who has now passed, was from Barbados and always spoke highly about Panama and how many of our family members migrated to Panama to build the Canal. I was interested in learning a littlemore
I spent six years in Panama as a soldier. I have been back three times to visit with my ex-wife's family. Some of them live in Mananitas and San Miguelito ... and the Mother lives out near El Valle de Anton. I love the country and the people. I was stationed at Fort Davis on the Atlantic side in 1980, I went there the first time as a nineteen-year-old infantryman who loved being in the jungle and, as a History nut, I read about Morgan and his incursions into Portobello and Panama Viejo. A year and a half into my first tour, Omar Torrijos was killed. I was stationed with the Paratroopers at Fort Kobbe during my second tour. Things were different between 1986 and 1989. I've been near Noriega a couple of times. My company did a parachute jump with him and the Batalion' 2000.
@@GeneRoberts1961 you’re the exact type of person that I wanted to see this video.. increíble. It would’ve been amazing to meet up and hear your stories .. un saludo
@@AdventureElliot Perhaps you will go back some day. I am planning a trip in January or February. But I am retired and can really go whenever I choose.
@GeneRoberts1961 • The internet makes this a small world. I was born and raised in the former Canal Zone. I lived in Gatun for 14 years and graduated from Balboa HS. I also served as a Moatengator with Co. A 3/5 193rd Inf. Brg. I did a couple of jumps into Rio Hato training Noriegas Battalion Macho de Monte and the Battalion San Lorenzo. There are several retired Gators living in Panama. My time at Kobbe was end of 78 to the beginning of 80. AATW @AdventureElliot • There are so many vidios coming out of Panama that totally miss the point. You hit it dead on. As harsh as the reality is your vidio was a breath of fresh air. Soy Panameño.
i do not understand chief, you served on the panamenian canal zone and jumped with the batalion 2000. can you tell me the whole history, i'm a panamenian that loves history and it would be interesting ear that history. please😁😁
@@eljairo5877 Where would you like to begin? The U.S. military was in Panama for many, many years. From Panama's very inception as a country (and slightly before) there has been a U. S. presence. Panama was an important strategic location through both world wars and continues to be a major player as it relates to the economies of many countries globally. My personal history with Panama begins much later. I served two tours there in the 1980s. There was a lot of turmoil throughout much of Latin America in those days. During my first tour, Panama was the home to the controversial School of the Americas (Escuela de las Americas) located at Fort Gulick (Later renamed Fort Espinar). If you would like to develop a list of questions or provide an outline of your interests, I would be happy to help wherever I can?

Great video. I’m originally from Colon, Panama. My family left Panama in 1988. I have so many beautiful memories of Panama. The country is so culturally diverse.

I respect your efforts to present Panama realistically, from the streets. I've seen many videos portraying it as a travel stop or retirement haven, but yours added dimension to all of those they lacked. Muchas gracias! Liked and subbed.
Hello 👋🏻 I’m new in your channel I’m from panama 🇵🇦 but I’m living in Texas 🇺🇸long time I love my beautiful country panamabut my familly living in David chiriqui panama 🇵🇦
Panama is a good country that definitely deserves more attention and exposure. We have good people and extremely diverse natural life. I would love people tell me about a country that has no corruption or tax problems. It's just easier to spotlight on a small country... Panama es un pequeño gran país
My exwife is Panamanian. On my travels to Panama, she was the one who pointed out to me many of the high rises in the city not having any lights on at night - but having ingredients signs on them saying that they were near 100% occupied. She used to say that they were above means for all the drug lords to be able to launder their money. They buy them but don't live in them, and their money became legitimate. This didn't end with Noriega. He was disposed, but the issues - including drug smuggling and money laundering, increased trough Panama.
omg I was noticing that... it's so strange there are no lights on at night in the skyscrapers, but I thought they were just trying to conserve electricity.
I am a young pensioner who lives in Panama. You for sure got scammed by the taxi. It is why when in the city I only use uber. In my personal experience 90% of the taxis here are scammers. So when you find a good honest man I always use their service again and give them tips. Also good thing you didn't go with that guy because he prob would've led you into a trap after the taxi driver already gave a heads up. I have been through that same exact area last year. Almost walking into that very bad neighborhood. Thank god I turned and walked to CV on the beachside. Also just some simple advice never tell anyone you don't know the local prices. Always act like you know or you will get taken advantage of!
I went to Panama city in 2017 and 2018 and the people were absolutely lovely, and it was surprising how many could speak English.. Felt very safe to me and I really enjoyed my time there
@@AdventureElliot I hesitated to say anything about the taxi price but I learned quick to ask before getting in the cab! And I haven’t been there for some years now and things change!!
As a Panamanian citizen, the biggest problem in my country, Panama, is without a doubt “corruption”. We do not know if we will ever be able to overcome this enormous problem that plagues this country. Panama is a baby in terms of crime rates compared to other countries, don't be fooled by what some say, Panama is one of the safest countries in the region. Excellent video, I enjoyed watching it.
@@sirc625 That is very true!!! What I mean is that Panama does not have that exaggerated level of crime that some say. But! Panama has many problems that hopefully we can solve one day..
Dude. There is NO PANAMA CANAL ZONE. I’ve been here for 15 yrs and I would say you have a 20% understanding of what’s up. Panama is full of corruption. Yes, there are many very nice people but many more that only think about themselves. In general there is a very low level of education. And the powers in controls want to keep or that way as they can take advantage of those who don’t understand. The fact that the taxi driver charged you what he did tells the story clearly. That would have been a $3 ride at most for a local. And you speak Spanish! Imagine the BS they pull on tourists? In most cases they will rip off every tourist when possible not understanding that the tourist having a bad experience will make them not want to return or tell their friends about a good place to go. Grab as much cash as you can now with no thoughts beyond that. The main tourist area in city is Casco. And if the gringos hadn’t invested here it would still be the super dangerous area it was before about 2005. Panamanians wouldn’t come into Casco before then. And by the way the prices in Casco Viejo for a cappuccino are higher than in Paris or Roma Ridiculous I’ve traveled to about 100 different countries and was never robbed at gun point except twice here in Panama. By 14yr old kids. Those are facts sir
I've been to Panama recently and I was very impressed with the country!! Panama City is wonderful, people there are super friendly and polite and they really know how to welcome a tourist! Seriously, very friendly and honestly speaking, one of the best treatments I got from locals when travelling (and I've visited 21 countries). San Blas islands are very paradisiac and totally worth visiting it (but there, the native locals are unfortunately NOT as friendly as people in Panamá city, they got a very strange attitude with tourist, almost a sort of anger because we are paying a LOT of money to visit their islands). I live in an island (Madeira Island in Portugal) and I never saw a Madeiran treating people with so much disregard as San Blas people did it, at least in all the islands I visited. Panama City is Great!!!
Their attitude is weird also to the locals, sometimes we don’t understand why but based on my personal experiences with them, I think they do because people tend to separate them from society, kind of racism with our own locals; a bit disappointing, making them treat other people a little harsh. Also some language barrier, some of them don’t even speak Spanish. When I went to the islands the natives treated us pretty okay, I’ll never forget the native that helped us making a 🔥 on the beach, pretty cool guy but he was from our age (20-23)
Wow excellent video very good info about Panama ,I have been interested in the area, more oceanfront expat areas away from the city-your the 1st to show the real Panama-others sugar coat the area, especially real estate agents trying to sell you something-also the Mayor was great-he sounds like he is really helping the area-I look forward to your next video-,Please show nice oceanfront areas on the Pacific -Great job ,stay safe
Quite the get with the interview with Mayer. He is interesting guy. It was funny hearing his comments about USA in light of recent attacks by Trump. You should clip that part of the interview so ignorant Trumpers can see how these people are our friends. Mayer is a tech bro and was wearing a MAGA hat the day after the election. On the taxi driver, yeah he charged you too much for the ride, but at the same time he was giving you value add for the video. He knew that. The old guys over in Casco are very colorful and mostly harmless, but you started drawing attention when you started flashing cash. I know the cab ride you wanted to get that local vibe, but UBER is your friend and cheap in the city. Great video. I live mostly in Florida but have a Panama visa. This is one of the better videos I have seen on the topic. I am glad you emphasized at the end that Panama is SAFE.
Hey Doug.. Thanks for the very LEVEL HEADED comment. A lot of people hated on this video without listening to everything. I would make a video on all the beautiful things of Panama City, but the truth is that it wouldn't get views. And yeah, pure coincidence with the Mayor. I'm def gonna clip it and put it on Tiktok. I was so annoyed when Trump said that about Panama because as you see in this video, people still value what the Americans did.. At the end of the day though, it's more about geopolitics but the problem is that Trump just knows how to piss people off with his words instead of being strategic about it.
El gobierno lo hace tambien, por ejemplo si vas al centro de visitantes de Miraflores o a Panama Viejo, hay una tarifa de entrada para nacionales y otra para extranjeros. Los taxistas y todo criollo siguen esa mala maña.
excellent. So many characters! We drove through Chorillo with a cab driver. a few years ago. Not for the faint of heart! Panama is a beautiful country full of beautiful people
When this is the worst that you can show of any country (it's not), this is pretty awesome. I love Panama❤ 😊 There is no other county with rainforests just outside of a modern city. Can't wait to go back to stay.
Don't be fool, Panama is stupid safe. I've been living here for 11 years after living in Miami, and I can assure you Panama is so safe that is borderline boring.
@@AdventureElliotAs a Panamanian, I know our country is far from perfect, but we do take the matter of public safety very seriously, Elliot. Even what’s considered by many to be “the worst” neighborhood we have, is not a life-threatening place when you come to think about it and look at its history. If a tourist was killed there, it’d be a national scandal. Sure, there are murders, just like in any other country, but those are mostly gang-related. Good content, dude.
my friend went out of the disco DRUNK AF from casco viejo to the cinta costera walking, worst thing that happened to him was that the dumbass got his phone out and someone came out running and snatched it, but thats the worst i have seem, stolen phones (living here for 11 years)
Yeah I live in south Florida and have a Panama visa. I feel much safer in PC than certain areas of Miami or even Palm Beach. But I have been in Chorillo. Certainly not a place for gringos to hang out but there are a lot of colorful folks.
Elliot when you showcased the city’s skyline you said basically it was the side where money laundry took place, that kind of comments spoil our image internationally. I worked for offshore banks in Panama and I can tell u, all banks fulfill with international procedures like due diligence, exchange of information with World bank and OFAC, moreover The high commission of banks in Panama set requirements to all new accounts holders and morgage applicants ,it means the country is committed against money laundry and ilegal activities. Our president traveled to France as part of his commitment to take Panama away from black lists of tax heaven territories. Panama is one of the strongest allies of The USA in the region and cooperate against people and drugs trafficking. A lot of multinational companies have believed and trusted in Panama,no one would invest in our country if it does not provide legal certainty.
@davra9858 This guy is exaggerating and adding videos, and photos that aren’t even from Panama City at all. I just watch 3 minutes of this videos to detect the deception. Didn’t wasted my time.
@@Boho_world I think that comment was more associated with the trumps than with Panama City itself .. tienes toda la razón, no fue la intención. Un saludo
@@Boho_world oh wait. I was referring to the Panama papers. That court case just finished up. Sadly, if you type in Panama City on google those articles are among the first things that pop up.
@@AdventureElliot Panama's papers report was a comspiration trail intended to harm the Panamanian Banking's center. Based on a deception, cause, the central personage of this affair was Mosack & Fonseca. A private attorneys firm who not even putted money at panamanians banks. The money of their clients were paid at oversea banking.
wow, Thank you for showing Panama City. Sometimes I have thought about visiting there, but it really looks quite worse than mi Mexico. The people do seem a bit friendlier than in the cities in Mexico, but the environment looks a lot less secure. That taxi driver was cool and honest, and I know you're not rich, but I would have given him at least $20. In Mexico, a 10 or 15 minute ride, in silence, would cost at least 250 or 300 pesos, or at least 15 dollars. In the US, the same time in a taxi would cost at least 50 to 70 dollars. Things are expensive now, everywhere. I would like to see what it's like in small towns and the Panamanian countryside to compare it to Mexico , which is where I mostly live. Saludos.
I've been there multiple times. Panama City is safe and very well developed. This video highlights the rougher sides of the city, but I would say a large chunk of the city is secure, has modern amenities and is completely safe to walk around even at night. There's a healthy and growing middle class there as well. It's just like every major American city, there are rough areas and good areas.
The city is safe and a great travel destination. Nobody will mess with you.. for this video however I ask the locals about what’s going on and they tell you those things. But as a tourist you won’t see that. I didn’t show hardly any of the nicer parts of town but that’s not my style anyways.
Also the taxi rides or Uber rides are really cheap. They cost 5-10$ sometimes for a 20 minute ride. Just cuz I’m gringo doesn’t mean I should pay everyone more.. it’s the principle and I’ve been scammed so many times that I’ve learned my lesson.
As a panamanian, I cringed at certain parts. I didn't necessarily agree with everything you said, but I can appreciate your point of view. Thank you for showing the realness of Panama City.
I'm not from Panama, so all I remember El Chorillo for, is an infamous kinda like a meme song from the 2000s about a female gangster who "comes from el Chorillo with her 8 chiquillos" and will use her knife to "draw a Y on you that is not Y as in 'yeyé' but Y as in Yasuri Yamileth" 🔪😅
Great video! Hopefully, next time you can have a real local contact to walk through El Chorrillo. Another place worth visiting to gather more stories is Río Abajo. I also appreciated the interview with Mayer-he's an inspiration for kids, young people, and even for me personally, as I’ve learned a lot from him in different aspects of life. It’s kind of sad to think about Panama’s future, especially with Trump’s recent rant about the Panama Canal and the pervasive corruption that always takes over some arms of the state. hey compa tu espanol es muy buenoo, OFIII que XOPAAA
Interesting video. I've visited Panama, but even my Panamanian family didn't want to go into el Chorrillo. There are a lot of neighborhoods though that are in between the glitz of Punta Pacifica and the poverty of el Chorrillo. Panama does have a middle class.
When you meet a public figure, such as a Mayor of a City, and your first comment/impression is "he owns one of the three Tesla in Latin America" that should give you a hint of either it is an empty headed mayor and you had nothing better to say about him or the interviewer himself has a short sight of Panama's political arena. In this case is a bit of both.
I mean, the fact he has a cyber truck is attention grabbing. I'm from a small town in Wisconsin and when I went to LA and saw cyber trucks everywhere I was just as surprised to see something like that. We don't have them in Spain either.. That's all. Also, I hardly know anything about the politics in Panama because I'm just usually focused on speaking to ordinary people in the street and showing the culture - but this was an unexpected encounter. Un saludo.
What? lol. If you meet someone and they own a cyber truck that you are standing in front of that is specifically going to be one of the first things mentioned regardless of who they are. It has nothing to do with the mayors intelligence or Elliot's view of Panamas political arena. Also if it is one of only three in south America that makes it even more of a talking point. What a ridiculous comment 🤣
I lived in Central America from 12 - 19 and it was great back in the 70s and 80s and with this generation I wouldn’t want to ever go there again I was in Panama since the millennial 2000 . But Panama still is the best and the one and only country in Latin America I’d go to. I had a panamanian girl friend who was very kind and sweet who gave me tours all over the country she had a good life but I just couldn’t lead my self to getting married or living there. Iam happy in the good old USA where I have a lot to be thankful for. I have no desire to go out of the USA any more I did it when times were good in the world not the way it is now .

He’s also English speaking Jamaican ancestors like the guy in the video. Elliot what do you mean patriotic supporting that scumbag Noriega? That’s the old Chinatown, the new one is in El dorado, not too far That’s awesome you got to meet our mayor, he’s doing a fantastic job, we’re all very happy with him big time.
Hey Juan.. Thanks for all the useful info. Unfortunately I'm no longer in Panama City, but I will def come back! Panama City is a nice hub connected to Madrid. Btw, the mayor invited a Venezuelan TH-camr from Barcelona when Barcelona was holding protests against tourists.. Great PR move by Mayer. And what I met about the patriot comment was that I met many Panamanians who were very proud of of their country at the moment.. You don't see that in all Latin American countries.. You act like there are no poor streets in America. Why would you need to sensationalize this in Panama? Fact is, most Americans feel safer in Panama than in the streets of America.
Chorrillo is better place now, some little streets area dangerous but it’s ok now. This is because Casco Antiguo is near by and is very touristic area. I actually live in Chorrillo and nothing happens. They really are exaggerating a bit. You shouldn't go into a building for no reason tho so there's some truth to that.
There is no such thing as the Panama City Canal Zone… The Canal goes from the south/pacific near Panama City to the north/pacific at Colon. Colon is a dangerous place. El Chorillo, why going there?? For a show? Why don’t you travel elsewhere in Panama City and in Panama (not just one city ;-)

The Jews that live in the Jewish neighborhoods with the high rises are locals too, not foreigners. The mayor himself is one of them. But I understand the word "local" is used mainly to describe the poor people living in poor areas, especially in Latin America. Stanley Motta is perhaps the richest man in Central America, and is also a member of the Panamanian Jewish community.
You’re right they’re also locals.. but this video shows what many locals go through that aren’t in the high paying jobs. Elderly people who worked for years in the canal only to end up having to work as a guachiman at 71 years old.
@AdventureElliot True. But there are also success stories like Lucy Molinar, Panama's Minister of Education. She made it out of the hood. Now she lives in exclusive Costa del Este. The opportunities are there.

@AdventureElliot Yeah, I bet it would, but you lucked out with the mayor, haha. Another success story from the hood is Panama's Attorney General, Javier Caraballo. They give the new generation inspiration, hopefully. Looking forward to the next video.
@@guillermogouldburn763 The reason those hoods-to-haves success stories are told and retold are because they are the great exception, and not the rule. Elliot, meanwhile, is here to tell us what it's like for MOST "locals". Btw, if everyone WERE a "success", then who would do all the work?
Bro the taxi driver is talking about criminals and he’s an swindler. You should never have given him that 15$ that carrer of 10 minutes cost less than 5$. It bothers me that they want to take advantage of tourists.
Yet there’s people who say I was a cheap SOB for not giving him more than 15$! That’s the attitude - gringo tourists are stupid and pay whatever so they take advantage of us. This is rampant in the dna of Latin America outside of a few places and it’s really sad cuz I love these countries.
Good video, but it's a bit over the top, especially when you say "this is just a facade" and the real stuff is behind it. Sure, that might be one reality, but there are other sides to the story. Calling all those buildings money launderers and saying everyone living there (I do) is involved is disrespectful to those of us who have a different reality. I studied on the East Coast of USA, and let me tell you, I’ve seen some of the most neglected and dangerous neighborhoods there, let alone the huge drug epidemic . Compared to those, El Chorrillo looks pretty fancy. Still, I can't say that's all there is to the USA, but I can say the American Dream has seemed like a bit of a myth for decades.
The thing that really pisses me off is my odiot friends that flex that theyre parents are corrupt governors. Honestly fuck them thankfully thats only 20% of the rich guys. Still tok much.
I was walking around old Panama by the civil buildings , walked a few blocks into this area ( I think it is) I had a local run me down to tell me don't cross the street too dangerous for a gringo. I got it LOL .
I am an American, but my grandfather was a ship captain at the Panama Canal way back in the day when there was an actual Canal Zone. idk why you call it that now, because it's not accurate. Overall, it was a great video though!
Did not see you go into the Canal Zone. Curious as to why you would call my old home dangerous??? It is a separate area. Panama City isn't the CZ. Maybe I'm missing something?
Careful round the pro noriega. Corruption is rampant, the young people are moving to change things. Trash and infrastructure are a big problem. Employment and training are another aspect here. Looks good on the surface ,but deep underlying problems. Spend some time here.

AATW

Panama is a good country that definitely deserves more attention and exposure. We have good people and extremely diverse natural life. I would love people tell me about a country that has no corruption or tax problems. It's just easier to spotlight on a small country... Panama es un pequeño gran país
Es verdad Panamá es increíble y me gusta mucho. Hay un lado bueno h malo de todos los países .. un saludo

I hesitated to say anything about the taxi price but I learned quick to ask before getting in the cab!
"Safe" but use your common sense. As a tourist don't go where you shouldn't be.
And by the way the prices in Casco Viejo for a cappuccino are higher than in Paris or Roma Ridiculous
I’ve traveled to about 100 different countries and was never robbed at gun point except twice here in Panama. By 14yr old kids.
Those are facts sir
Although shameful, especially for the cab driver's action, everything you say is true, I hope our society improves.

Great video. Thank you for posting.
Los taxistas siempre van a cobrar más a los extranjeros. Eso necesita regularse de alguna manera, pienso yo. Good stuff.
El gobierno lo hace tambien, por ejemplo si vas al centro de visitantes de Miraflores o a Panama Viejo, hay una tarifa de entrada para nacionales y otra para extranjeros. Los taxistas y todo criollo siguen esa mala maña.
Great job bro!
Thank you another amazing video

Don't be fool, Panama is stupid safe. I've been living here for 11 years after living in Miami, and I can assure you Panama is so safe that is borderline boring.
I agree it’s among the safest countries in LATAM but go through el Chorillo where the taxi brought me and you’ll take that comment back
@@AdventureElliot Chorrillo is not the safest place in Panama, still safer than any place in Venezuela.
Sure, there are murders, just like in any other country, but those are mostly gang-related.

thanks for sharing a video about my beautiful Panama

I live in Panama CIty and it is not that rough honestly. You can just go to the rough area of any city and show it and say that.
That was the hood you saw, man.

I also appreciated the interview with Mayer-he's an inspiration for kids, young people, and even for me personally, as I’ve learned a lot from him in different aspects of life.
Funny fact, besides being mayor, he founded a company importing Tesla vehicles to Panama.

At 0.55 is that a cyber truck?
Exactly. Watch the end of the video you’ll see
There is no such thing as the Panama City Canal Zone… The Canal goes from the south/pacific near Panama City to the north/pacific at Colon. Colon is a dangerous place. El Chorillo, why going there?? For a show? Why don’t you travel elsewhere in Panama City and in Panama (not just one city ;-)
We have been there twice, all over Panama and the city. Walked everywhere in the city and drove through the “hood” during the day in a rental…..never had any issues. Beautiful country. Outside of the city in the small villages we were eyeballed quite a bit but never had any issues. Police always friendly….I can’t say the same for Peru, completely different experience, same for Costa Rica.
@@sailingyachtrhythm7364 you had a poor experience in Costa Rica ? I certainly felt safe in most of Panama City as well.
@@AdventureElliot just thievery in Costa Rica. Our gas was siphoned out of the car at the museum in San Jose. Also had to explain to our daughters why the women of the night kept showing up with different guys for dinner at the resort in Escazu that we stayed at for awhile. Loved the beaches especially Manzanillo and Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean. In Peru, Ica province near Pisco we were extorted by the police, had to cough up $100. to get them to leave us alone…they hit up the busses and rental cars in southern Peru…no issues near Machu Picchu, Cusco, or in Lima. Enjoy your travels!!!
I was born in Panama left at nine years old I dot look like I am from Panama nevertheless my mom and dad and all grandparents are from Panama
Never judge a book by its cover I speak perfectly English and Spanish
Just because I speak English doesn’t make me less Panamanian
Panama can has it’s dangerous areas just like any other country. I love Panama. Puente del mundo corazón del universo 🇵🇦❤️🇵🇦
JAMAICAN MAN, here; "PANAMA, is, beautiful , man, many JAMAICAN, IMMIGRANTS, there"❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I need to step up my game and learn Spanish. These people are tri-lingual and I'm up here English only.

Hola .. conozco David .. Panamá es hermoso la verdad .. el próximo viaje vuelvo a esta zona de Panamá
@@AdventureElliotplease don't come back, we are tire of see muricans around, making the life expensive or at least their presence has anything to benefit the life of the citizen of our country, better stay away
@ Im
Not gonna live there.. lol are you guys becoming xenophobic? Que raro jaja
@@Lavrentizodiacbro i never gwt tired if seeing americans here
Damn david is hot asf but boquete is cold.
This is were my mother from love her so much R.I.E.P momxxxxx❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
With all the illegals coming up and through the Dairy gap what is it really like in Panama all over the whole entire country including Boquete, Chiquire, David etc?
bro you went to the hood, is like you going to the hoos of big american cities you will find poverty and even more than Panama, sometimes you can see old building and ugly but the people who live in those buildings have AC, Led TVs, PS5 etc, the bad thing is they dont fix their buildings, yes there is poverty but not as sam as other countries around Panama, all this folks who you interview are probably people who went and got hook on drugs and ended up homeless... we have the Panama dream just as the american dream, thats why so many people from venezuela, colombia etc migrate to panama and they make it here, just as an example sonia is a spain girl who migrate to panama worked in a bar and now host a tv show in a main stream media lol
I agree, I went to via Argentina y otras partes de la ciudad h madre mía que bonito todo .. I also met many educated Panamanians. Unfortunately those videos don’t get clicks sabes .. un saludo
@@AdventureElliot try to check Costa del este on the weekends and casco viejo on the weekends at night are booming, if you will go to our highlands check boquete, or islands like contadora or bocas del toro
32:05 Yes he did charge you a lot, but remember that he did give you a tour and he didn’t rob you. He took you around three different hoods and he dropped you in the safe zone! No one in there right mind would charge you the actually fare when he took you around!
how have you not been at the rooftop pool of the Trump Towers? super nice...have a friend who lives in the building. in genereal Panama has so much to offer, in the countryside side too. never felt more safe anywhere in South America...one of my favorite countries!
Very good., congratulation .
I visited there 13 yrs ago and it was clean and safe. So sad to see how it has become.
It’s still great .. it’s greatly improving. I showed the areas of Santa Ana and el Chorillo
Police were very good to me when I visited in 2004
Why would he just assume the watches were stolen? Is it because it is in the poor part of town?
@1:34 US did not have to close and leave all the bases ....We told the government we can keep a few bases open ,,,ohh No go home Gringo Yankee ...Libertad .....Besides all the good jobs on base there was a huge vacuum of narco traffickers and human smugglers .....So it Goes
The decision of mantain or not maintain US military bases on panamanian's territory was and is an exclusive right of panamanian's goverment and their people. The US presence in Panama, exploding its natural resources only promoted to get poor this country. It was so obvious the improving of Panamanian's economy as soon US went out from our country. Don't be nostalgic. 👀👉🇵🇦♥️🇵🇦♥️🇵🇦♥️
@nemesionieves8900 Claro Commandante !!!
👀👉🇵🇦♥️🇵🇦♥️🇵🇦♥️
Every country has its bad spots! And homeless
dudes beard slays
Give him $30 and don't be cheap, please!
the people are struggling in panama but mayor is representing in a very expensive tesla. that never sits well nor does it look genuine.
Not everyone is struggling .. there are a lot of progressions that make good $ but I went to the neighborhoods right next to the tourist zone
El alcalde es un empresario judio, es una persona millonaria, pero ha decido ser servidor público.
@ I bet there’s are thousands of cases like that. That would be hard to get into contact with them. I just go to the streets and make videos. Wait until the Colombia series, it makes Panama City look like a paradise haha .
Come seviche y filete de pescado al ajillo y camaron al ajillo y arroz con coco bien 👍 rico
Still, I can't say that's all there is to the USA, but I can say the American Dream has seemed like a bit of a myth for decades.
great video...
Hey, i do get what your saying that the all the yeyesitos and wtc live in those buildings, but not everybody steals
RASPAO🔥🔥🔥🔥
I am an American, but my grandfather was a ship captain at the Panama Canal way back in the day when there was an actual Canal Zone. idk why you call it that now, because it's not accurate. Overall, it was a great video though!
It's the greater area I'm referring to. and I call it the canal zone so the title llama la atencion because the panama canal is known worlwide.
I have the same name as you and live in Panama now. You totally got ripped off for the cab ride!
"El Chorrio Heights" 😂
Did not see you go into the Canal Zone. Curious as to why you would call my old home dangerous??? It is a separate area. Panama City isn't the CZ. Maybe I'm missing something?
Los Panameños decían que el Chorillo y santa Ana son peligrosos ? Hasta la policía en el video ?
Estos barrios estan al lado de la zona del canal.. That's where many of the Canal workers lived/or continue living.
Who do you not still live in your old home then, seeing as you refer to it so fondly?
Careful round the pro noriega. Corruption is rampant, the young people are moving to change things. Trash and infrastructure are a big problem. Employment and training are another aspect here. Looks good on the surface ,but deep underlying problems. Spend some time here.
