I have never heard of it before. 😮. What a stunning cathedral. I do agree with you about the most beautiful part of cathedral is above the altar. What an amazing history too. I know I keep saying it but London just has a history that a lot of other countries don't. I love the stained glass windows. I love old churches and cathedrals. They have that wonderful smell too😊. Truly beautiful piece of architecture.
The displayed stages in the building process, with neat labels for the different materials, looked very interesting. It looks like the kind of thing that other historical buildings should consider whenever a suitable opportunity like repair/refurbishment arises. Great little vid.,
I like to visit the cathedral when I go to Borough Market. It’s a respite from the throngs at the market. And you are correct; it’s surprising more people don’t visit as it is stunningly beautiful and not so large as to be overwhelming to navigate like St Paul’s. Bit of info; a Dr Who episode was filmed there with David Tennant. I recognized it immediately and was pleasantly surprised!
What a glorious cathedral!! One of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Yes, I was thinking around mid 1500s. I enjoyed this! Super!! I would definitely visit this cathedral when I visit London - even if I miss many others.
