I've seen Corey in a few concerts, honestly have to say he really cares about the crowd not just the show. His voice has so many different levels in it. He is a big reason, why I got through my deployments in Afghanistan with his energy.
This entire concert is epic! People always talk about Download Festival 2009 being their best live show but for me this is the most raw and hyping show.
I remember going to this tour in Dublin and couldn't speak after for 3 days. I literally crawled out of that place from not being able to keep my shit together, jumping around like crazy and my legs hurt for days after. I would do it all again. Slipknot live is something you must experience to believe. The energy is immense its like being possessed lol
Still my all time favourite gig I’ve been to. Nothing will come close to seeing them live at during this period of slipknot shows. So aggressive, amazing and beastly.

Meh, you're right but only half right. Everything after IOWA are still good albums, just not good "slipknot" albums. Like if any other band came out with songs like "all hope is gone", "negative one", or even something like "unsainted", that band would be considered a good band. Its the contrast between what they were and now are that makes them seem not good. I remember when i heard self titled and it changed everything. Then iowa came out and raised the bar. From the first album to the second album they completely outdid themselves and everyone else. So then we hear about vol 3 and we're all anticipating something to top the brutality and heaviness of songs like disasterpiece, p=s, heretic anthem, new abortion, etc. But instead we get vermillion, duality, and before i forget. So we told ourselves "ah, i bet the heaviest most badass shit is whats not on the radio. We run out to get it in high hopes and then we find out that even the heaviest songs on the album don't even top the heaviness of the softer parts of IOWA like my plague or left behind. We felt cheated. It was the uncompromising heaviness that forced them into everyone's view in spite of heaviness. Case in point: their performance of heretic anthem on conan. Once that was gone it didn't belong to us anymore. The die hard fanbase they had created on the basis of that original sound were pushed back into the backseat while they focused on pleasing the critics and playing the fkn grammys. On top of that, you go to school and the kids that were yesterday rockin green day, blink 182, sum 41, etc. Are now rocking the knot and telling you that you have bad taste cuz "vermillion is just like the best song ever..." It was a huge disappointment. Of course we were happy for their success and we all still backed them up because hell, they made fkn IOWA. But it just wasn't the same after that. They traded fans of bands like cannibal corpse, obituary, deicide, and morbid angel for MTV and radio. It sucked. With all that said, if a band like disturbed or drowning pool came out with vol 3 or all hope is gone they would be considered those bands bests albums. But because slipknot did it, it was a compromise and regression.
Fun fact: Corey Taylor has another band Stone Sour. In the song Absolute Zero, there’s the line ‘Man is a 4 letter word’ which is a reference to this song. (Please react to Stone Sour - Gone Sovereign and Absolute Zero)

Talking about being accepted, metal shows and the like are some of the best for that. 99% of people there will look out for everyone around and just have a good time (there’s always some in every group that will be blah). But metal shows are some of the best times.
Based on seeing couple of straight edge bands live, that level of energy doesn't require drugs. Doing that in masks and the slipknot uniforms, on other hand, probably does.
