Thank-you Jayda , I watched the start of your live yesterday but had to split , my ride came to pick me up. , but I love the purse/ bag you created out of your 20 yr granny squares. You talked about these 20 yr old granny's in a video not to long ago , I think. Anyway glad you are here again today what a treat. Thank you , I been following you for close to 10 yrs now. I learned alot from your teaching, tricks an tips and tools. Thank you so so much. Marla from Mo.
Hello Jayda, Granny Square patterns are so Beautiful, no matter what color or shape they are. I'm going to look forward to making them, Thank you so much for your Beautiful Tutorial.
Love this Cluster Stitch and the Hexagon Shape for Granny Squares…….you are a great teacher and so easy to follow…..tks for this pattern….for newbies, I like to put a stitch marker in the top of the chain-2 to know where I make that slip stitch at the end of the row…..and with many other patterns a lot of instructors don’t show you or tell you where that “1st” stitch is….(at the beginning of a row), bc sometimes it’s right under the Chain two or three and sometimes it’s the “next stitch”…….and if you don’t get it right, your stitch count is off……well, ty for a wonderful pattern…..😊
Hey Jayda!! I absolutely love you!! You've taught me how to crochet and make granny squares!! I've just completed my first Afghan made of granny squares!! Yippee!! So I'm starting another one using these hexagon squares...I'm wonderng how I'm going to attach the hexi squares...
@Jayda InStitches hi Jayda..so...I was wondering if it's possible to crochet different sized granny hexagons into one blancket? and if so..do u havexa Tutorial ?
I love this Hexagon better than the original, meaning mine didn't end up as curvy as it was with the other pattern! And Jayda, that sweatshirt is awesome!!!🥰
Hi Jada I've been making hexagon granny squares for what feels like a lifetime! I think I have enough to make a blanket. Do you have a tutorial for sewing hexagon granny squares into a blanket?
Hi Elaine, you can join hexagons using any method you like (as you would for squares: sewing, stitching etc) and there are 2 ways you can join them: make a rectangle or make a larger hexagon. We haven't done a specific video a hex blanket, but we do have a little info at the beginning of this video on a rectangular format: th-cam.com/video/9TuXDDg6C8s/w-d-xo.html Also, if you want straight sides on your rectangle blanket, we now have a video on how to make half hexagons here: th-cam.com/video/7GTqVUxnGKQ/w-d-xo.html
Have a suggestion I think you could do a octagon shape like the hexagon would be bigger but might be good for a blanket or bag and as a motif to add say 3 to 5 for a table runner, hope you like the idea Mrs jayda and Mr stitches
I made a small granny square head band the other day, turned out cute. I'm finding it fun to try and make things on my own, but I also make mistakes to. 🙁🙈🤔
Hi! We have a couple of different ideas in this video here: th-cam.com/video/9TuXDDg6C8s/w-d-xo.html You can join them just like you would squares, sewing or stitching 😊
Hi Stephanie! I've been working on that, it's a little tricky to get the tension right, but it's very similar in concept to the regular half hexagon. If you haven't seen that video, you might find it helps...here: th-cam.com/video/7GTqVUxnGKQ/w-d-xo.html
Hi! Definitely try it. You might not want to cinch it "all" the way, because the 6 clusters use up a lot of real estate, but it would definitely make for a smaller middle hole.
Hi Sarah, those are a little smaller than mine, but that's totally ok in the case of a project like this 😊 Yarn, hooks and personal tension can vary quite a bit!
Hi Kelley, if your stitching is tight, you might want to try a larger hook before you add in the extra chains, and if that still isn't loose enough, then try the extra chains, just be sure not to confuse them with corners 😊
Hola, Jayda! 😢😢 Gracias ❤
Hi! Make sure you're bringing the opposite points together. If it seems tight or really ripply, that's ok, it will flatten properly when it's stitched into an "L" 😊
Hi Bridget, there is no half double crochet in this pattern: we start with a ch-2 that counts as part of the dc3tog cluster to begin the row, then we start a DC, work the first half, start a second DC work the first half of that and that leaves us with 3 loops on our hook, then we yarn over and pull back through those 3 loops. That's how we get that first cluster: the ch-2, plus the 2 half-worked double crochet stitches together = a single stitch or cluster. I hope that helps! 😊 Thank you for watching! 🍂

Hi! Not yet, but thank you for the suggestion 😊

do you have a tutorial on how to make a half hexagon with this pattern?
Hi Kimberly, not yet but thank you for the reminder! 😊
Would a "magic" or cinch circle in the center affect how the hexagon lays?
Hi! Definitely try it. You might not want to cinch it "all" the way, because the 6 clusters use up a lot of real estate, but it would definitely make for a smaller middle hole.
Would a magic circle work for the center? I don't like the large hole in the middle. 🤔
Hi Jessica, yes, but you might not be able to pull it super tight because 6 clusters is a lot of crochet in a small area 😊
Desde España Eres estupenda He hecho muchos trabajos tuyos Me encanta 🌄
Hi Teresa, Thank you for watching 😊
Hexagons are the bestagons
I like that 😊
Beautiful and can this be used for hexagon sweater!!
Yes, definitely!
Would this distort if I made a large square blanket sized.
Hi! Not as readily as a regular granny square or regular granny shell hexagon, just because the clusters are tighter 😊
Can you make a blanket out it just making one hexagon?
Yes, definitely!
Hello, I am making these, I am using size 4 yarn with a 5mm hook, they are measuring 5 inches across, is that right? Many thanks
Hi Sarah, those are a little smaller than mine, but that's totally ok in the case of a project like this 😊 Yarn, hooks and personal tension can vary quite a bit!
look up this lady she made Mandela bag crocheting her name is hablemos de maria crochet. so pretty colors
Would it curl less with an extra chain between clusters?
Hi Kelley, if your stitching is tight, you might want to try a larger hook before you add in the extra chains, and if that still isn't loose enough, then try the extra chains, just be sure not to confuse them with corners 😊

Why not use a standing st on new row new color?
Hi Carol, you can certainly use that if you like.
🌞🌻🦋💛🙏🙏🙏
In the beginning, round one, you say to do double crochet but proceed to do half-double crochet. So confusing.
