I stumbled on your channel a few months back and watched your entire journey so far. I don't watch TV but I like to watch TH-camrs with similar interests. I did a pct section last year and plan on the thru hike next year. I love your spirit and you have a great energy about you. The Calendar year thru hike is an amazing feat. Rock on!
thanks man. usually by this time of year, all the youtube hiking channels go season off and I get pretty much bored until AT hiking starts in January. It's still in the 60-70s during the day but the mountains get quite cold at night. Within a month here it will be close to freezing Temps in the mountains. September is the latest It's safe temperatures.
I've admired your thru hikes but of course you can't claim a thru hike of the AT this year without submitting Katahdin. You haven't mentioned going back for that since you left the AT with Katahdin closed due to snow in the spring. It should be closed again when you finish the CDT. That would mean you won't triple crown in one year, been pulling for you, but it's got to be 3 thru hikes.
@@gracebarrett-johnson Because I've followed him and I'm pulling for him completing this. But it's got to be legitimate. When he left Maine he said that he'd have to fly back to summit Katahdin. But time is running out before it will be closed for winter, and I haven't heard him refer to it again, just that he has two down and one to go with the CDT. Maybe you know something I don't, that's why I commented on it.

Looked like grizzlies to me from the low butt shape, but early in the season it can be really hard to tell from a distance.

Canadians say that the athbascaian glacier also feeds 3 oceans, if you go there and pee you will hold a very unique record.

He flew back and submitted Mt. K then started the CDT.
On IG posts, he summitted Katahdin on 09/11 which is over a week after his CDT start. And he's into Wyoming now!

Where do you cross the Going to the Sun Road? I just spent a few days in Glacier and couldn’t find a CDT sign..
The cdt crosses by the Jackson glacier overlook, I don't think anything in the park is signed cdt it's just all the park trail names.

Bear spray should be in your hand. Hard to fk with it and pull it out when a bear charges at you.
