- Rudi Schuricke & Heinz Munsonius mit seinen Instrumental-Solisten - Komm zurück (J’attendrai) Lied und Foxtrot (Olivieri - Siegel), Imperial 1939 (Germany)
NOTE: Dino Olivieri’s “J’attendrai” (in Italian: Tornerai; in German: Komm zurück) has always been for me one of the most beautiful pop-tunes ever composed. Therefore, this channel has been a welcoming place for all past and present renditions of that haunting melody. Today, let me present one of the nicest German versions, recorded by the top-crooner of German pop-singing in the 1930/40s.
Rudi SCHURICKE was born in 1913 in Brandenburg an der Havel, to a family of military band leader. In his childhood, the family was moved to the city of Königsberg (Królewiec) in East Prussia, there Rudi completed school and later trained as a chemist and worked part-time as a newspaper seller and chauffeur. In the early 1930s he moved to Berlin where he studied singing and took acting lessons. His start as professional singer was in the male-singing ensamble Kardosch-Singers, established by his singing teacher Istvan Kardos. The group sung on the radio and produced several records, until they transformed themselves into the Spree-Revellers and finally, in 1936 - the Schuricke-Terzett, which was very popular and active in recording and radio performances through the 1930s and during the 2nd WW. All that time, Schuricke also developed his solo career, gaining a huge popularity in Germany which lasted until the advent of the rock music, in the 1950s. He then worked as a hotelier and ran a laundromat in Munich. He died in Munich in 1973 at the age of 60. - เพลง
Мой любимый Руди слушаю его уже лет 20 и не могу наслушаться !!
Always love to see the pics of better times and ordinary citizens leading normal lives in my birthplace. Beautiful song version.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written, love this foxtrot version and Rudi's voice is so Sweet. This is the first time I have seen the handsome Rudi.:-)
Love the tour of Berlin, would love to have a morning Kaffee at Kranzler Cafe (with of all things tablecloths ...so refined) One of the things I loved about Europe were the cafes where you could enjoy your coffee and paper and not be rushed. Being American and a New Yorker you have to adjust. :-)
Dankeschone for the relaxing journey. I LOVED IT!

Dearest Genia, next time you are in Berlin come to Cafe Kranzler each thursday at 11 am - it's Tamara's and mine jour fixe and we are welcoming all friends then. The Rockys and divine Peter Kreuder often come along to see us and he sometimes gives us the morning concerto on the cafe stainway. Cheers :-)))

Lyrics:
Du sprichst vom Abschied, für kurze Zeit
Und bist schon morgen, von mir so weit
Was sind schon Worte, im Augenblick
Was ein versprochenes Glück
Weil ich Dich liebe, glaub ich an dich
Doch will das Schicksal, vergisst du mich
Das darf nicht sein
Tausendmal, nein
Komm zurück
Ich warte auf dich
Denn du bist für mich
All mein glück
Komm zurück
Ruft mein Herz immerzu
Nun erfülle du
Mein Geschick
Hast du in mir
Drum sag ich dir
Darum bitt ich dich heut
Komm zurück!
Vielen Danke fûr die Texte !
Komm zurück Rudi Schuricke
VERY WELL.The music have capacity for to survive on your properly, yet on conditions hard.Thank you.The world want to you.
A very lovely treatment of this one we so adore. It's extremely unsettling to juxtapose, in one's mind, this soothing performance -- as well as the prosaic shots of people happily going about their daily business -- with the despicable activities of those in power in Germany at that time -- and yet to do so seems inescapable.
Thank you, Elisabeth - this film, despite the onset of the awfuil times it's herolding, was supposed to show just exactly what you wrote: the little daily things still going on in every citizen's life, in spite of the Moloch of the War, just being waking up in those days.
