After watching this video, I immediately placed an order for this fountain pen in the same finish and nib size. I would definitely appreciate a disassembly line video! Thanks for this review.

For those who may be confused, I assume the startling outburst at 0:50 was in recognition of TWSBI apparently accusing Narwhal of stealing their piston design. Because it is so unique and all.

And now Narwhal have released a vac-filler, TWSBI will probably claim they invented that, too 😆

Twsbi is just stupid for making a claim like that...turns me off from them

I just picked up a Schuylkill (not the Dragonet) and the nib is so smooth and the pen is really pretty. It's my third Narwhal (Nahvalur) and I'm happy with each one.

Great review of a great, reasonably priced pen. Love the colouring and the flow of ink. Thank you for reviewing the Narwhal/Nahvalur!

Very informative video. Thanks. Ordered the stub nib to try a piston fill with that nib size.

I have the first limited edition Schuylkill they put out. Ebonite, gold trim, came with a faux leather pouch and a nice wooden box, but it had a somewhat grave omission. It didn't come with the wrench.
Still love it though, and I've used only my most well-behaved inks in it, so I never had much need for disassembly as cleaning came quite easy. The value is indeed remarkable, especially with an in-house, fully-engraved nib.

I noted on another review site that this one was Rose Gold (yet further toward the edge). I come here and learn it’s a Limited Edition and that it came in a 1.1 stub (kicked screaming over the edge into the chasm of pen acquisition disorder). So…ordered the stub and it’s on its way. You’re correct in your IT’S A DEAL assessment. Love the crazed out of control laughter at the beginning. Tis the season.

Great review, Stephen, as always. And if you are running a democracy, my vote is for a disassembly video.

I like Narwhal pens. I have a few. May need this beauty too. Thanks.

I'm thoroughly unimpressed with the TWSBI Eco I got. Cracked after a month. I like the piston fill, but before jumping in and buying a Leonardo or something in the $150-$200 range, I'm thinking of trying one of these out🤞🏼
After getting two $4 Jinhaos and having them work very close in quality to the $35 TWSBI, it makes me skeptical of everything in the higher price range.

Love all the Narwhals but the Nautilus is my favorite-I think I have 4!

I've been impressed by Nahvalur (pronounced Narwhal!) pens. I have the Nautilus Bronze Corydoras, F, and find it a good work pen; i.e., I can get a result from the fine nib on crappy paper. But, you show us a lovely refinement on a good line!

This is a beautiful pen, and Nahvalur have been creating some good-looking writing instruments lately (Original Plus, while great from an engineering pov, is a bit disappointing in material choice).

I just received this pen yesterday. There are only 2,000, so when the opportunity came up I pounced. It’s a fun pen. I love most thinks about. I would probably prefer a TWSBI nib, but that’s a preference. There is really nothing wrong with this pen.

recently got this pen in broad, I like it a lot. I was immediately surprised at how bad it posts, pretty awful design having it post so shallow right on the piston.

Great review Stephen, how in the world were you able to come out of that laugh into a normal state of being!! Ha! I dug the pen, jude

Nahvalur supposedly plans on making a limited edition every year. I got this one, and I plan on getting another when some blue/orange combination comes out. Decent pen for 60$ and if they keep improving it, well, why not ? :)

I saw this pen on Friday after looking into Narwhal / Nahvalur's issues with Twsbi and wanting to look at their collabs with Peter Draws.
I fell for it immediately and ordered it Saturday. Glad to hear your review. Am looking forward to adding it to my collection of (admittedly) introduction pens when it arrives next week and taking the next step in my collection.
Hoping that they will release a new model in the $100+ space with the narwhal tusk inspired pen clip we've all been waiting for.

My experience with Narwhal is that their nibs are atrocious. I have a feeling they tuned your nib. Their nibs are typically mis-aligned and are dry. However, the rest of the pen is stunning and unique which is why I purchased so many of them. My collection includes Original Poseidon Blue, Schuylkill 365 Red Ebonite, Schuylkill Porpita Navy, Nautilus Pelagia Noctaluca, Nautilus Seaweed, and Peter Draws SE. So, I feel like I am uniquely positioned to comment on this topic.

I’ve had 3 Narwhals and I’m impressed with their nibs straight out of the box.

I agree with the atrocity. I have 3 pens, and just one nib writes ok. Other 2 have needed hard work.

My experience has been that I've had two caps crack from either a design defect, quality control issues, or poor quality material. Narwhal (Navhlar) has a none existent customer service division. I've learned my lesson and will stay away from this brand. Such a pity since the pens are nice looking and wrote well enough for my purpose

Yes, this is a useful, well-presented review. Thank you. The name of the pen is the (SKOO-KILL). It's not difficult, really.
I have a Schuylkill with a stub nib. You're right - it is a very good pen. For my geriatric right hand, it is a bit thin in the diameter, but I can still use it well. I am not sure I want one in this specific color although I just might buy one. If I do, is it okay for me to hope I do not get the one you just slimed with your snot? 😎😎

Schuylkill is a river in the US which entrance was hidden by some vegetation. It was named by Dutch explorers. "Kil" is a Dutch word for a creek. "Schuyl" means hidden in Dutch, so the explorers named it Schuylkill. As Stephen is a native Dutch speaker he pronounced it in Dutch. It's not hard, when you're native in Dutch.
