Honestly, assuming that it won't be canceled, we would suggest you avoid the Switch version if you have the option of a current-gen console or PC to play it on (or are willing to wait until that option is affordable). Unless KT racing (or whatever third-party company Nacon decides to hire for porting the game) manages to achieve the most impressive Switch conversion in history, it's probably going to be a pretty crappy version of the game.

the issue now is i am talking just open world racing games…no one wants to grind anymore. there was an interview online from alain jarniou saying that he didn’t like forza horizon’s wheelspin because how easy it is to win a supercar after buying the game. this video was very informative and i was unaware that nacon/KT are considering microtransactions for different aspects. for gaming in general, i stopped focusing on gaming after seeing the popularity of fortnite where everyone has this status symbol online they don’t have in real life through microtransactions (purchasing skins or weapons). it was at the point i remember in school years ago that everyone was addicted and purchasing real money just to have some type of approval. i thought tdusc was going to convince me but i will rather spend my money on something more reasonable. sorry for the long reasoning.

It’s sad to see a game that was once so ahead of its time have graphics that are sub par at best, and that’s not even the worst part the physics also look extremely simplified and too arcade like. But the developers also seem to lack understanding in what players want, like not showing a single dealership or character role play options in the trailer
Personally, I didn't have a problem with the visuals; sure when you look at some of the buildings they look like cardboard boxes with textures plastered to them, but given how many graphical improvements can occur between the alpha and launch builds, it's safe to say the finished game will look much nicer (compare the sea of thieves gameplay demo from E3 2016 to the final version of the game to see what I mean). As for the handling, it does look floaty and weird a lot of the time, but I once again feel like this is a product of the alpha state of the game and is almost certain to be drastically improved by KT Racing before launch (they did make the WRC games, so they clearly have a deep understanding of driving physics). That said, I agree with you that it is worth mentioning these issues with the current build of the game to ensure that they are addressed, especially given how Nacon seems determined to rush the game out the door before it is finished. I would also say Nacon is a large part of the reason the game feels a bit off in terms of being a "true" TDU game; the devs probably do know to a large degree what the players want in Solar Crown, but a lot of their ability to implement those features are at the mercy of the publisher's own desires (desires that often conflict with those of both the developer and the players).

The amount of damage control (especially) by Alex on the subreddit is disgusting. Anything that is a valid concern or criticism is met with anger and reasoning of "just an alpha bro," "they aren't a big studio, they don't have the budget," "you're a FH fanboy," or as Alex has told me personally, "you just don't know about the game, I can't say anything but you're wrong." I have been a fan of Test Drive since clamshell PS1, and it's sad to see what we were shown. It may not be the final version, it may be an alpha, but it isn't far off from the final product we will get. And to those who think we will get houses after launch, I can't express to them how silly it is. Maybe sometime far into the future. Maybe. What I find ironic about the issue of driving games is playing the demo of The Crew Motorsport. A game I had NO hope of being anything close to what I want to test cars out with my expensive driving wheel and computer. But when I drove my AC Cobra into some deep sand it got stuck. I couldn't believe someone actually made a open world driving simulator that simulated real world physics. I still have my fears that they'll somehow mess it up before launch, or WW3 will happen. It still gave me hope. P.S. You can turn down the tire grip levels in The Crew. Which makes it that much more realistic, and may have accounted for my sports car not driving like an off-road buggy.
Hyped for this game, and i try to defend it as much as possible - i was actually even more hyped after seeing the gameplay. But i can only agree their communications has been very subpar. I will still purchase the game to support it and hope the live support will make the game good just like The Crew 2. That game was also subpar on launch and people didn't like it at first but now many people love it.

While The Crew 2 has grown significantly since launch, a lot of the underlying problems (microtransactions and drm specifically) persist to this day, problems that are uncomfortably likely to be in Solar Crown. Besides, with games like Cyberpunk 2077 and No Man's Sky normalizing the practice of rushing an incomplete game out the door and finishing it later, it would be nice if this game was an example of a new game that was a finished product at the point of purchase instead of what so many live service games are (ie finished months or years after launch after several updates and paid season/battle passes).
If this is how this game will be released, it will flop big time. Nobody will play it anymore, might be poppular for a couple of months, a year if they're lucky, but after that, players will get fed up with it, & move on to another game. This is just sad. Such a great game with such potential, only to fall flat on its face for pure greed, just to please abunch of suit wearing shareholders. Forza got flack for small maps and this one's projected to be smaller. This one not going to have houses at launch which means it's all a plan of microtransactions with cars. Always online DRM and heavy PVP focus means FOMO will be the order of the day. PVP focus for an open world arcade racing game with no penalty or rating system means a ramming fest that could mess up experience when earning cars/money. Lack of customization means NFS and Horizon fanbase wouldn't be enticed to try it. Most of the cars being old and fewer than competition makes it less enticing for those fanbases to switch. This is destined to flop. Never seen a better written script.
