Great vid as always Gabby! One thing I'll add as well is that when I do gel nails at home, or even when I go to the salon, I like to put sunscreen on my hands in advance 😊 it protects your skin from the UV lamp (works well if you're also doing your toes)
@@JESSICA-jq4kj if it's just gel that you're doing, then I don't think you need to wash your hands :) so it won't come off! I can't speak for acrylic nails because I've never had them done. So if you do gel polish on natural nails, you can give it a go!
Love this! Quick and to the point! As the years go by, manis and pedis are becoming more and more expensive. It's too much to get done every two weeks. I plan to try this!
I live in Southern California, and what do all the salon owners do get together for tea, and decide how much to increase the prices? Because I know what I used to pay, and now a Mani-pedi with gel polish +tip, is running around $80.00! So I invested in a nail machine, don’t go to Ulta, because they only carry one brand and they are way over priced. I haven’t used it yet, but I’ll be due for my gel manicure in a few days, so I better start looking for a really good polish.❤
I only do acrylics or gel. But these days, let me tell u!!! Gel mani is like $35 & acrylic is like $30... I can't be doing that every 2 weeks. So I guess doing gel at home is the most self sufficient way! Cuz I'm not trying to learn how to do acrylics; u gotta shape, buffer, drill... Too much

I really like the look of gel nail but I don’t want to be spending 30$ at a nail salon 😂 so I bought a led lights that cures 5 nails and now learning from TH-cam how to apply. 👍🏻 wish me luck
Hi, I'm new here... I've recently decided to do my nails with gel nail polish and i was looking for a tutorial and i am so glad that i found your video💞 it helped a lot and i cannot wait to do my nails
If anyone see’s this in time Kiara Sky is having their semi annual sale only for this weekend. BTW I found your video while researching the LED lamp because of the sale and thought I should share.
I enjoy all your videos and especially your ideas. I have concerns about the affects of gel & curing my nails for myself. Years ago, I did acrylic nails from a professional manicurist 1 time. My body's reaction was negative & couldn't wait to get them off. It took two years to get my nails and fingers back on course, heal and healthy. So I hesitate to anything that's not plain nail polish. This video makes me want to try, then my sensitivity stops me. Thank you for sharing.
thanks for the quick and straight to the point tutorial, decided it's time to do my own nails now we're in lockdown, so this video helped me know what I nee to invest In :)
I love doing my gel nails I’m so good at doing them and I get so many compliments asking we’re i get my nails done and I’m like I do them myself but I always finish my gel manicure with jojoba oil p.s. it’s the best oil for nail and hair growth so I put that on my cuticles and some lotion
I just bought a gel nail online. Had to buy a lamp wasn't expensive. But I had to after I got the color the way I wanted and put it under the lamp. I put a nail hardener on my top coat it dried nicely. Without it didn't
As a beauty school grad from way back when. Gelish passes my test for durability and shine retention ...ymmv but I'm satisfied with the product Liked and Subscribed 🌷🌷
This was so helpful! I've been saving up for a while to buy the whole set-up so I don't have to keep paying all this expensive treatment and just do it myself
For everyone doing diy nails at home or practicing on self. Make sure not to over expose your skin to the products I've done nails since June I went way over board taking product off after one two and three days to keep up with posting and I've contacted an allergy to all products gel polish poly gel and acrylic which sucks !!!! I was careful not to get monomer or gel on my skin and still I broke out super bad a week ago after trying New acrylic set hoping once they've healed up it's not too late. A lot of diyers like me didn't research allergies to products I heard in tutorials about contact dermatitis I thought oh that'll never happen to me then bam I'm stuck with it. Just be super aware of the products your using and get a practice hand rather than doing multiple sets a month on your own hands !!! I wish I'd done more research on all aspects of nails before going nuts on my own nails.
My husband bought me a mani pedi today- first one i ever had in my life- I'M IN LOVE!!!! but when i saw the price i choked. How does anyone afford it once a month let alone every 2/3 weeks? Hopefully i can figure out the at home version.
Love this!! I’ve just uploaded gel nails at home routine, but I just love watching other peoples’- you can never have enough tips. 🙌🏻 I adore the colour too. 🤍
Wow, that's not bad at all. I am using another brand's demi gel and i find it not lasting as long. I am going to try your way and hopefully I can get at least 2-3 weeks out of it. Thank you!
Thank you for this video! You seem so chill lol Do you have to repeat this process every time you want to paint them? Does it act like Polygel and Acrylic to make your nails grow without the breakage?
Great video girl 👍💗 you got right to the point and you showed every step. I recently purchased a lamp & gel nail polish to start doing my nails at home!
Another tip, if you don't want to apply too many coats of color polish, put white after base coat and then your favourite colour on top of the white colour
Hey gabby I have a question so I was gonna see if I can do a ombre nail polish on my nails but I dont have the square makeup sponges I only have the circle flat ones would I be able to do it with the circle makeup sponges?
I've always wanted to do this as have natural nails. You make it look so easy (I hope) lol. I've never used a cuticle base just plain painted them these look amazing. I have the curing thingy as do resin. Now I can practice. Thank you 😊
I paint my nails black with gel nail polish my wife told me it would take 20 mins to try but she tends to be wrong about a lot unfortunately so I had to watch a video about the nails bc yuhh why not 😂😂
Do you think base coat is absolutely necessary using gel? I know in shops they don’t, I’m a new nail tech and was asked if I can do just gel on natural nails and I haven’t yet so I’m trying to watch videos and educate myself and your videos was the top one.
How long should you let the nails dry after each curing? Does the top coat help the nails not pick up fuzz. Even after the few professional gel manicures I've had the gel polish has taken several hours to harden.
Would you please tell us the exact name of the Sally Hansen floral cuticle oil that you are loving so much? I am trying to find it, but I think perhaps the name is something else other than floral cuticle oil? Thank you so much for your help. I am in Canada
From cooking recipes, sewing how to’s, now gel nail tutorials. I’m going to be one heck of a TH-cam graduate thanks to quarantine.
You sound like me!! 😂😂
i felt that 😂
Me too LOL
Lol it’s been six months since quarantine 😳
literally

Sarah Haseena omg I never even thought of doing that!!
Sarah Haseena and thank you💗
My pleasure 😘
But wont it wash off when they tell you to wash your hands after they put cuticle oil on after they dril the acrylic.

for sheer nail polishes like this, paint your nails with one coat of white and then continue and you won’t have to put on so many coats!!!!
Omgggg thank you
Thanks for the tip
Awesome tip! I’m giving this a try :)
Interesting… does it work with sheer dark colors?
Such a good tip!
Too much
Malika Musawwir lol
Ikr
I agree. Too much and not all nail techs are careful with those drills. Save that money and cuticles.
I feel you, my nails grow very fast, I can’t justify $30 a week, and my last gel application was not nice quality.
The lamp shes using is $250 tho
This really came in clutch while I’m in quarantine
same reason i'm here haha
same
meee tooooo :(
same
That’s why I’m here! Giving my nails a break from acrylics lol like I have a choice
I appreciate the straightforwardness of your video. Quick and easy.
I just bought a whole bunch of stuff from Amazon, this was the best tutorial I’ve seen- thank you!!
What type of lamp did you buy?
@@vanesaespino5716 on Amazon there is some that are 12.99
@@Nenelx34 Are they good? If so which one do you own
Wooooow, your natural fingernails and cuticles are sooo beautiful. That paint job was amazing! Thanks for sharing.
chapstik crazy I know right? It was perfect!! I wish I could apply polish on that well!
thank you best video i ever seen, awesome and fast to the point no boring bla bla bla talk for 30minutes
lol thank you!
Just some advice when you are curing your base cote or top cote you can cure it for 60 secs for a better result and it can last longer ❤️
So quick and to the point, all my questions were answered in 4 mins! Thank you!!!
Yes dont like videos that dragggg on this type of things

$30 sounds good, salons around me are charging $50 (what the heck) new skill in process
How’s it going? Did you get your gels done?
Hello Gabby!!! For not being a nail tech, you do a really good job. I love learning from you.
jae3434 thank you!!💗
SO glad I found this video!! I was putting on a full coat of polish for each cure and I couldn’t figure out why it was chipping!!! Thank you!
was going to get a gel at the nail salon, but I might well spend money on this stuff so I can do it on my own.
I love how quick and to the point this video is yet still full of Info and fun to watch!!
