A 1/10 On Road Speed car built on the original AK917 Chassis.
This time with some changes including a new receiver box, electronically adjustable wing and Dual Motor RTR coming soon!!
Is this too much for the 1/10 platform?
Advertised speeds of 200KM/H on the Dual motor setup which is insane for a 1/10!
Today I test it on 2s/3s and 4s to see what it can do!
on 4s its an insane beast! But how fast?

Australia is a huge place. Lotsa long roads. But finding one smooth enough for speed runs for this has been challenging. Already have a Felony in for major repairs. But i absolutely love this Rlaarlo. I dont want a single scratch on that beautiful orange & green body. Brilliant RC car. Highly recommend.
RLAARLO Really should have included a gyro in this RC car and on any on road RC cars further !!!!!!!!!!

They do on dual motor ones , you can't complain because they have every option car available all depends how much you want to spend, you can get the metal chassis for 200 , and motor a tad smaller but unless you really into speed runs you're not going notice , you can add gyro for 50$ 250 $ for this car with gyro now what ?
How will it handle on makeshift track ? It's so fast if it handles it could be on high price level race cars . Definitely have to use the the steel spur

Its just a matter of changing its reciever with another dumbo rx with a gyro..since its a dumbo tx..some people hate gyros anyway..

wont be using this again its just not long enough or good quality. On the hunt for a suitable place for the dual motor setup :)

Although the dual motor RTR will be available "soon", is not yet available. The way they have the website currently set up, for those who are interested, they fill in their email in a pop-up box, which will notify Rlaarlo of their interest. I think Rlaarlo is trying to gauge what the exact level of interest is, so as to determine how many dual-motor RTRs to produce. In the meantime, you can simply order the RTR, dual motor conversion kits, plus an extra ESC & motor...and, turn the RTR into a dual-motor.
Myself i think it certainly looks better in the green and orange colour of the mazda race car

'Order of cars to buy' list. Unfortunately Australia is often way behind in getting these. Not sure if i can wait

Really good speed test Ricky! like you said towards the end of you video, people don't have to go 100mph with this. I've been begging Rlaarlo to build us a 1/10 rally car and short course truck for us folks who are not so much into top speed runs. they usually listen, but im just a small voice! it would be awesome though
Hopefully see something new which isn't aimed at speed runners soon! A short course would be great!

Yes people love their top speed runs , but many love their SCT’s, Rally, Monster trucks (like monster jam style trucks ) and one of the fastest growing Rc categories; Rock crawlers. Were you using the stock pinion and spur gear or did you install the high speed ones they give you? Also what kv motor? I think they give 2 options...i really think this is a winner rc ..thanks for the great video..😊

Thanks ...you should checkout new sg 916 race cars..i have brushless all metal gear version..i absolutely love it..handles incredible..on 2s 27 mph its .i also ran several high speed passes on 3s 1000 .40 mph easy imo. chassis is great...it will be very popular real soon...i will be adding heat sink,fan and oil shocks to mine..also i lovw the radio.has dual rates on steering and 3 speed rates...
I meant sg918,but they both are same car with different body.
looks like the differences between the carbon fiber RTR and alum RTR versions are that:
- CF one has 120 ESC, alum one has 60A ESC
- CF one has 1300W motor, 3900KV; alum one has 900W, 4300KV
Does that mean the alum one wont be able to use 4S battery?

Hey guys im really new to rc cars and i want to buy this one but i have a question, how do I charge the battery do I need to buy some kind of battery charger and which one thx
I would recommend checking out some beginner videos all over youtube. Also this may not be the best car for a beginner. Check out some beginner cars first which some of the cheap RTR (ready to Runs) come with basic usb chargers to get you started. Got to walk before you can run :)
Why not play around with the optional gears they provide before going the two motor route? Surely that’s the slowest of the options,
Two motor route is more fun and I have all the components here so makes sense 🤔

Check out some of the ak917 videos many used the optional gearing with that and posted the results online, chassis wise this is pretty much identical so will perform very similar

Think the metal has a top speed of around 65mph out the box. Change the gearing and no doubt it will be just as quick as this 😚

@@beyondRC I’ve still not received mine, ordered it on opening day and emailed them a number of times and no response, looks like it’s same old customer service from the 917
@@beyondRC you were right about rlaarlo customer service in your old videos, I’ve emailed them a number of times with no response and I’ve payed for the metal version and they’ve taken my money and won’t reply to my emails, i think they are only sending these cars to TH-camrs and content creators, so it looks like it’s a legit company, I placed a order on release day.. this doesn’t look good for the content creators who have advertised this product..
Sidenote, those grub screws should not be thread locked….here is why
1-not every model sells immediately so the shelf life and the extra hardening of this thread lock would could cause issues for maintenance in the future causing them to have to pay out more on a warranty scenario for stripped grub heads.
2- quality control might’ve just missed tightening them down, or the machining of grab screws is rather cheap and the quality control well….china right? So the pitch in clearance might be less than desirable to fit securely in the drive cup
3- Never thread lock Drive cup Grubs or pinion grub/Set screws🙏❤
Been thread locking them for 22 years. Never had an issue myself. Why ruin a day due to a grub screw falling out? Tiny bit of thread locker and it’s a day full of fun 😚 but I appreciate your views on this.
You can use little heat from a soldering iron to lose the screws with thread locker.

And i have 10 years on you as doing this for 32 years mate. If the grub screws don’t stay in they are a poor quality grub screw and you can get better quality with much better tolerances.

I didn't think u were supposed to run a 4S in this stock set up......
4s worked fine. It’s a 2-4s esc on the carbon edition. 2-3s on the metal edition. Motor temps where fine and performance great as seen in the vid
They should make a sauber Mercedes or a Bentley speed 8
