One of my favorite episodes for Drain the Oceans. The way they bring the shipwrecks into the light, despite being computer, it’s still amazing.
You should feature more US Civil War river fights.There were lots of interesting tech involved.The only problems=strong currents & traffic,if I’m right.

Yeah I'm right there with you! The creepy laughing got me. I couldn't imagine anything funny about that situation.
Those ships are not to be disturbed, they are graves and must be respected, no matter which side they fought for, they where all Americans!
I think Monitors greatest challenge was not the battle it didn't sink her. I think it was the storm that put her on the bottom.

@@blam320 History. Ironclad batteries were used by France against Russian shore defenses (for instance the Lave), Telegraph, railroad, trenches, exploding shells... All of those were used during the Crimean War.

Wrong!The Virginia’s hull was not completely metal.The Monitor did ram the Virginia but it didn’t result in damage.
You are correct. However accurate information (a few inches of metal armor backed by 24-30 inches of oak and pine) might interfere with the dramatic presentation.
The outer layer was metal tho. That’s the important part. That is what hadn’t been done before then.

Terrible documentary. Ridiculous over dramatic music, breathless commentary, over-reliance on computer generated animation, very little information and idiotic "scientists". When did National Geographic turn into TLC & the History Channel? Looking forward to the Alien Spacecraft in the next Drain the Oceans.
