    Красивая работа! Очень приятно видеть и как работает Мастер и как работает каяк.

    Hi Brian, been enjoying watching your immersive builds. I love your approach and how you explore all avenues.
    Have you considered laminating the buoyancy noodles into the skin? Adding an XPS foam sheet outside the ribs that could be shaved to form before the skinning, from the gunwales to waterline should make it possible to achieve any tumble-home shape or other hull-shape variations without adding much weight.
    Mistakes would then be fixable by re-skinning the canoe.

    Hey Brian! Looks amazing! Outstanding course. I'm having so much fun. Glad to see that the boat I am in the process of building is basically what you are showingin this video. Seat idea is wonderful and should work well for my planned set-up! Keep up the outstanding work!

    I plan on buying our course soon and trying my hand at building my own solo canoe

    Ah Ho ! Enormously interesting, informative and entertaining as always.
    Coming from a low volume folding kayak and an iSUP I’m really interested a pack canoe like this. Sort of a bridge between the two.
    Many thanks for sharing all of your creations over the years. Always eager to see whatever project is in the works ; )

    Мой отец умел делать лодки, на каркасе из гнутого дерева, только обшивал не стеклопластиком, а жестью. Двухместная лодка весила 15-16 килограмм, крашеная. Для рыбалки, для охоты. Они были не 11:3, а 3:1, но по камышам самое оно.

    Good afternoon, it is a very interesting subject, you have the plans in Auto Cad. and these come with the course, thank you very much for your kind response.

    Great video. I note that you role on Corey’s urethane vs using his card technique. It looks like a hard foam roller which I’m guessing is an easier and less risky application method. Thanks again for your videos.

      @capefalconkayak  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah the roller is definitely easier. There’s still a lot of stuff that can go wrong though which is why I’m meticulous about my coating instructions in the course.

      @@capefalconkayak Thanks. I just saw one of your other videos where you cover some of the challenges which was also very helpful. I’m doing a little test (dinghy) boat currently but will likely have to commit to your F1 plan. My wife and I are getting too old to be lifting 65lb kayaks on the roof. But it’s not just about weight. Your F1 is a beautiful and functional piece of art. Thanks again.

      @@mattdjmorris thanks, it's a decent little boat. Simple, effective.

    Sorry - just rewatched the video and you mention the weight at 4:40 or so - 26 pounds is impressive.

    This is awesome. I’m thinking about building some of your designs. Should I start with a canoe? I’ve never built a boat before, so i think that’d be a bit easier than the F1 or a Greenland model

    • @capefalconkayak
      @capefalconkayak  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd just build the boat that makes sense for you. Each has it's own challenges and considerations.

      @@capefalconkayak ok. Thanks. I’ve decided to go with the F1 after doing more research. Im not much for canoeing, but I’d love to get into kayaking

    Very very nice - thanks for this. I’ve built a couple of cedar strip canoes and while I am pretty happy with them, I have been a bit disappointed by the weight. What is the weight of this canoe? Is something under 35 pounds possible for a 15 foot solo in your approach to skin-on-fame? Thanks

  • @MattGratt

    Great video - beautiful boat. Do you think the same approach could be applied to build a skin-on-frame rowing wherry?

    • @capefalconkayak
      @capefalconkayak  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes and no, this particular shaping system only works for canoe shapes but you can actually make a lovely rowing canoe with it and I have a whole Outrigger system that works with these. But if you want a genuine wherry or Adirondack guideboat shape, that can still be made out of skin on frame but it has to be built with laminated ribs instead of steam bent ones. I’ve done quite a bit of this and my favorite row boat is a skin on frame Adirondack guide boat, but it is a lot more work to build. There’s some videos here on the channel that talk about the rowing system if you want to check that out.

    I love you videos, thank you. Your kayaks and canoes are amazing. I was wondering which one would you recommend for a wildlife photography expedition?

    • @capefalconkayak
      @capefalconkayak  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say build the boat you like paddling once you get comfortable in it you won’t have a problem shooting.
