Good stuff,I agree with you that the Big Tex trailer does appear well made.I have a 2020 25GN and it has been holding up well like yours.I do see some sag when its loaded heavy like some say though not a big deal.I just ordered a swinging license plate holder to see if it will help keep my plate intact.I keep a spare oil seal and cap and tools to change it just in case but have had zero issues so far .Thanks for the videos!!
Hey brother fyi, the landing gear and the turn handle have grease inserts so can grease them up with a grease gun and the squalling will stop. Stay safe.
@@FR8GUYHotShotAdventures I think I seen it on the video, but for sure I saw on the crank handle. I have a PJ trailer those grease inserts make it very smooth operation.
Hey just replayed the video and the trailer landing gear and the crank handle do have grease inserts. The landing gear has them on the front of the pillar and on the crank handle it's right where it breaks to secure it on to the trailer. Hope this helps.
@@FR8GUYHotShotAdventures i know this is old but there is grease zerks on the front middle of the jacks, also on the small ring next to where the jack handle is. If you need to really pack the grease in, the top of the jack comes off and you can clean and grease them from the top. The deep rub(grooves) in the lower legs are from the top housing being bent in. Take a screw driver or a chisel and pry up from the bottom to get some more room when the legs slide down as you jack them up and down.
I thought I saw your rig today just north of Saltlake city lol the trailer is nice I wont do the mega ramps either. I just got my new trailer a week ago it had a hydraulic dove, I'm working on a review video for it here shortly. Stay safe out there bud!!!
@@FR8GUYHotShotAdventures about 400lb my old trailer is a plain 20k straight deck , my new on is 25900 with a 12k winch and hydraulic dove. look in to the Diamond C trailers with there engineered beams.
@@FR8GUYHotShotAdventures Thanks for the sub, it's a work In progress. We actually sent you our info, we do run the same lanes and I'm in Mesquite at the Flying J heading to cali tomorrow.
You wont have to grease them very often once they are full. Sorry but not a fan of Big Tex. I have seen them bow with weight in the wrong place on the beck.
Also on the ramps. You’ve said they are slick. Have you thought about painting the tops with a non skid paint, skateboard grip tape or screwing plywood to them?
Not really. I so rarely have anything on them. I probably wouldn’t do wood on there but I do like you sticky idea. That makes a lot of sense. Almost like a bed liner. Hmmm.
I don’t think you are supposed to, but with that said I believe you can. In AZ they only register trailers as 10000 as a max so I can change the sticker whenever. Some states I think once you register it one way it has to stay that way.
@@FR8GUYHotShotAdventures I did this run for 6years it figured out about 4.00a mile ends in Miami FL. The n pipe out of wildwood FL. To LA. 32,00 miles every other week
Totally agree. Major pain in the ass. And with a regular sized plate like I have it rips them apart too. Had to fold mine to make it not able to get knocked off.
Lol. Shit I know. Thought about that after the fact. Was Carne Asada and was damn good too. Next time. As for the trailer, I’ll just deal with the damn things, just have that 20/20 hindsight vision.
FR8GUY Hot Shot Adventures yes if you just ran outer wheels it would put a lot more stress on your bearings because of the offset of the dually wheel. Might work if you found a single wheel more centered on the bearings

Great idea on the license plate. Was also told to try the motor cycle plates.
Use a straight deck and aluminum ramps
What size dunnage did you go with? & how many?

Dude thanks bro. I’ll check that out tomorrow when I’m back at the trailer. I hope that works.

Is that a grease zerk in the middle of the support arm for the landing gear rod?

When you d-rate a trailer can it be rated again to what it was before?

Little advice on those oil bath bearings use a turkey baster suck as much as you can out then put fresh grease/oil back in
What part of the valley you live in
East. Gilbert
I might have a tip on some freight if you like long multi stop runs

@kevin whittled is it out of AZ?
Those mega ramps always drag because they are so low to the ground

Yes sir
Need to grease that land gear mine literally are oozing grease and it’s a 2019 man

First off you gonna bbq and now show the food?? Second we can cut that trailer up and get rid of those ramps lol

I don’t know. I’m gonna assume no based on the oil hubs feed both wheels? No idea, way out of my league.
